The structure of the Xu house is quite complex. One can compare it to a smaller version of the palace. The land itself spreads very wide with a number of buildings in it.
It has three main buildings and other ten sub-buildings. The whole large compound is walled and gated. It has five main gates and ten smaller ones in between for convenience. One could stay here for years and would not see the others.
Each main building has three other buildings surrounding it with the exception of Xu Wu's building, it is the only single smaller structure on its own and it was built in only recent years. He himself had moved in only about a year ago.
The other main buildings are for Papa Xu's three brothers with the Prime Minister as the oldest son and the head of their main family.
