"Has Milord awakened?" asked Chieftess Maria, who was standing inside Mordret's mansion in a maid outfit. The past week had been one of the most hectic she had ever experienced. Fortunately for Maria, no one knew about her family's betrayal. Since the Lord, the only one aware of the entire truth was unconscious, Maria refrained from entertaining the villagers with any new gossip. People questioned her whereabouts and why she hadn't returned, but Maria effectively dodged all inquiries by stating she was serving the Lord. This wasn't to save her skin but rather to avoid unnecessary trouble until Mordret awakened. Once he was conscious, Maria planned to repent for all her sins.
