"ahhhh...." Kyra's eyes widened in terror, and a sharp gasp escaped her lips. Before she could react, Vincent swiftly covered her mouth with his hand, their eyes locking through the mirror.
"Shh... it's me," Vincent's voice came out in a hushed tone. Kyra could feel his presence behind her, his strong body pressing against her back. The scent of his masculine pheromones surrounded her, overwhelming her senses.
She couldn't ignore the obvious truth. Even though she was scared, there was something about Vincent pulling her in. How could she not feel anything right now?
Seeing her obedient, Vincent rewarded her with a chilling smile and released his grip on her mouth.
"What are you doing here?" Kyra asked, her voice trembling, as she rubbed her chest. When she saw the dark shadow in the mirror, she was scared. She had always been afraid of ghosts.
Vincent glanced at her, concern etching his features. "Are you okay?" he asked, his eyes scanning her face, taking in her fear-stricken expression.
Kyra observed him, her suspicion growing. She couldn't help but notice that he was behaving strangely normal around her, which was a stark contrast to the angry and hot-tempered Snake who had nearly wanted to kill her before. There was an unspoken tension between them, an undercurrent of something she couldn't quite put her finger on.
"Yeah, I'm okay," she replied, raising an eyebrow. "But are you okay?" she inquired.
Vincent furrowed his brow, caught off guard by her question. "Why wouldn't I be?" he retorted, his tone slightly defensive.
Kyra couldn't help herself but to challenge him. "Well, considering you wanted to kill me earlier, I would think you should be happy right now. Why the sudden concern?" she asked, her words dripping with suspicion.
A flicker of anger flashed across Vincent's face, his jaw clenching. Without warning, he pulled her closer to him, their bodies pressed tightly together. Kyra could feel the chill emanating from his body, causing a shiver to run down her spine. His hands gently lifted her chin and their eyes locked in a clash of hazel and dark red.
His hand encircled her waist possessively, their height difference making him tower over her. His gaze shifted to her soft lips, and a chilling statement slipped from his mouth. "Yes, I want to kill you," he whispered, his fingertips caressing her waist. "But no one has the right to lay a hand on you except me..." Vincent's voice trailed off, his touch sending a strange mix of discomfort and an odd sense of something she couldn't quite comprehend.
Confused by her own reactions, Kyra raised her head to meet Vincent's gaze, studying his face up close. It was as if he had been meticulously crafted by a divine hand, each feature perfectly sculpted. His piercing red eyes, his tall nose, the contours of his cheeks, and his finely shaped eyebrows. And then there were his lips, thin yet inviting with a delicate shade of Pinkish red.
"What are you doing here?" Lucas exclaimed, his eyes widening in surprise as he noticed them standing so close. Without a second thought, he hurriedly released his grip on Kyra's waist and pulled her closer to him.
"You know she's mine now! You better keep your distance, VINCENT," Lucas growled, his voice filled with possessiveness.
Lucas couldn't tolerate any other male getting too close to Kyra. She belonged to him, and she felt the same way about him.
A mixture of conflicting emotions washed over Vincent as he felt the warmth slip away from his hand. He snapped back to reality. He couldn't allow himself to fall for any female, especially not this wolf female.
He can't bear him for seconds and spending whole life with this CRAZY wolf, he will really become mentally ill.
Little did vincent know that in the future, he and lucas would join forces to confront and drive away other males who would bring storms into kyra's life.
"I get it," Vincent said with a sour expression, "I'm just here to tell you something important."
"What's on your mind?" Kyra inquired, feeling dirty and sweaty and wishing to wash up.
"Emma. That woman who tried to harm you... you can decide how to punish her," Vincent stated, surprising Kyra and Lucas.
Because they assumed he would support Emma since they were of the same kind.
"Are you being honest?" Kyra questioned, and Vincent nodded.
"Moreover," Vincent added, "I'm ready to set both of you free from here."
Lucas and Kyra exchanged a glance when they heard this. They felt happy, but they knew this Snake wasn't one to let someone go easily.
"However," Vincent added, confirming that he wouldn't let them go easily.
Lucas raised his brows as he looked at Vincent, who returned the look with a smirk.
"Before I let you go," Vincent stated, "you'll have to offer me something in return."
