-Week 5, Day 31/Tuesday, Mayort City-
-Time: 12:05 A.M.-
(Poison… It's ingrained in my innards… So vicious and glued in. Too late to expel.) Nivril's body tensed up as he mediated, his veins fully visible and the strain on him clear as day.
Nothing he tried managed to throw out the poison, unlike he had thought because this was no normal human poison, there was definitely some element of supernatural to it.
(I know Raylid is involved with someone from the cultivation world before I had doubts, but now I'm sure of it, after all, he showed up as a cultivator to my house.… He was not one when I last met him, I'm certain of it…. So, who?… It's got to be the Bluelion brat girl… Have I given her too much leeway? Damn it.) Nivril concluded his body convulsing in excruciating pain.
"Hahahaha… *Bleurgh!*…" Subconsciously his body began to laugh under exposure to pain, and this led to more vomiting of blood as his body could not take it.
This pain was different from the one he experienced before, where his body was broken apart and rebuilt in order to make him stronger on multiple occasions, however, what he felt now, was a meltdown, and a burning that never ended.
To say that Nivril was being cooked alive, would not be an overstatement. Whatever was happening in his body was beyond mere physical pain.
(It must be affecting some other energy in my body aside from just my physical state, otherwise, there should be a limit to how much pain I can experience…) Even under the immense pain that contorted and gushed blood out of him around every turn, he kept his focus and tried to find a way out of it.
As someone who had experienced the extreme pain of consuming a pill far beyond his capacity, this was just another day.
(The solution to lessening the pain, is that if it is attacking me on a supernatural energy level, I'll take away the fuel to its power…
(But this could kill me, as I would be pretty much defenseless if I removed all my supernatural energies since they are also what's helping me keep the poison at bay and survive… Oh to gamble, I'll go all in.) Nivril concluded his vision blurring and his body quasi-shutting down as his heart beating slowed down.
Using his current knowledge and understanding of energy manipulation, he stopped the flow of his essence energy first and condensed all of it into its center point in the essence core located in his genital area.
(To think that things would get this critical because of this poison, something I considered so inconsequential I didn't even think about it when I actually had enough OLP to buy the skill that could help me get rid of it.) As he sealed off his essence cultivation, his thoughts on how he addressed the situation emerged, and the pain of his straining muscles continued to pour in.
Seeing as that did not lessen the burden on him, Nivril continued, and next, he did the same for his pure energy, moving all to the magic/mystic core in his solar plexus.
Each bit of it that was moved took a bite out of him, making for a highly painful experience as the pure energy was dragged in like a clawed beast scratching every bit of him it could to stop itself from being caged, a reaction that seemed to come from its contact with the poison that had almost become commonplace in his body.
"Hahahahaha!" As he laughed and blood poured off his mouth, Nivril managed to contain his pure energy and the hold of the poison in his body vastly lessened.
"Hubby…" Sasha tried to get closer to Nivril but was stopped by Dramil, who held her back.
"No, we need to let him do this… you might kill him if you interrupt now. Trust him to handle it." He held her in place despite not being strong enough to do so had she chosen to resist.
"So dramatic, he's about to overcome it, so relax… I have to admit though, while I still don't think he's cut out, he's far more resourceful than I gave him credit to be." Ishmaya rolled her eyes at their reactions before pointing out something that to her was the most obvious of developments just looking at Nivril.
"You're not a great companion, I'm surprised you're what's left of the inheritance that has allowed my brother to get a step closer to his goals. It's honestly almost pointless to have you around." Dramil replied to Ishmaya after her last comment.
"That's what I've been saying! That blue mosquito b*tch! Is both useless and clearly praying for the downfall of my deary. So, if she's messing with him, she's messing with us." Sasha who was clearly much more annoyed took the opportunity to let out some more of her gripes while pointing at the fairy.
"The two of you are simply temporary companions to the initial and most minor part of his journey… if he does make it past this tutorial-like stage.
"Anyway, you'll realize your own insignificance before what truly exists out there once the young master makes any significant leap in growth rather than this snail-paced nothing burger so far." Ishmaya looked down upon both her arms crossed under her bosom while her panties were fully visible for the two as she was now floating above them.
"Pink…" Dramil pointed out distracted from the words spoken by the fairy.
"Is there even a point in wearing anything if it's going to be that expository?… I kinda like it…" Sasha covered her mouth with one hand and began thinking about whether she too should wear scandalous underwear instead of listening.
"Hey! Are you two mortal morons listening? I'm telling you the important truth about your role in all of this! You'll be left behind and forgotten like the mere specs of dust you amount to." Seeing how unserious both of them got upon seeing her undergarments, Ishmaya hammered her point in further.
"Shut up with all that big talk. I don't know what your relationship with my brother is and honestly, I don't care, but I do understand that you don't have any grasp on who he is. So, what gave you the right to dictate how his story will go?
"So, what if you're some cosmic being with infinite power or whatever? None of that matters, in the end from what I understand, you should be working with him right now, but instead, you're so lost in whatever perfect fantasy you expected him to be you haven't even bothered to look at the actual Nivril for once." Dramil did not know the situation nor did he have any real idea of who he was talking to or how it all truly connected to his brother, but he knew an individual lost in a fantasy when he saw one.
Hearing this, Sasha who was next to Dramil frowned a bit, before looking the fairy in the eyes. There was a sense of disappointment in her eyes, but the fairy did not seem to be the only target of that sentiment.
"Hmph! You know nothing about me! A mere mortal like you could never understand me. Your words… they… they… Do you have any idea what I sacrificed to be here? Of course, you don't! So silence yourself before I do it myself." Ishmaya had a vein pop up in her forehead as she responded with her teeth gritted, however, unlike the last time she lost her cool, this time she maintained her aura fully under control and simply mean-mugged the two looking at her.
"You're right I don't, and honestly, I don't care. You're not really trying to help my brother, going as far as to actively hope he dies, and that's all I need to know, the rest is just details." Dramil smiled not worried in the slightest despite knowing he could very well die.
The expression on Ishmaya's face from this was all that needed to be said, if not for a miracle he will die.
"Dramil… I don't think…" Even Sasha upon seeing the expression on the fairy's face did not want to escalate things any further.
The same flame that had appeared in the fairy's hand before when she threatened the first wife, was now resummoned and made into two flame arrows. She raised her hand up, and as she was about to let it down as fire signal, her eyes softened right before the arrows disappared.
"… Mere mortals like you are not worth the trouble…" She clicked her tongue and just crossed her arms.
"Hahahaha!… It's enough." Nivril who got off Meditation, soon regained awareness of his surroundings.
"Hubby! I'll definitely need 25 chocolate bars after that. Do you have any idea what thus kind of stress does to my skin?!" Sasha immediately turned around and hugged Nivril having learned nothing from the last time apparently.
"Good to see you up. Don't go on dying like that, it's bad for our rep." Dramil joked a little.
"…" Meanwhile Ishmaya just silently observed.
"I can't make any promises, but I don't exactly like almost dying either… hahahaha…" His whole body was still full of poison and pain, however, he put on a good smile even though some pain slipped through in the form of his laughter.
"It's not funny! You're going through too many life-or-death scenarios one after the other, this is not good for you. I'm not letting you do this to yourself anymore, so, you're moving into my apartment until further notice." Sasha decided all on her own.
"I don't think that will be necessary at all, I'm fine and this was just a minor setback. Hahahaha!" Nivril smiles and pets her as he responds.
"I'm not taking no for an answer, whoever did this clearly wants your cultivation inheritance for whatever reason, and while I think it's impressive, I don't know if it's that great, only you do, so let me help where I can. We're in this together, after all, you already called me here, just let us take the next step." Sasha held onto his hand and looked him in the eyes.
"… Fine…" He sighed and decided to let her have it, after all, it was not too much of a problem anyway.
"If you two are done with the marital arrangements, I think it's about time we deal with this." Dramil interrupted them as she pointed at the still-unconscious woman on the floor restrained by the staff.
"Yeah, do you know who attacked you?" Sasha asked.
"Well… I have an idea so, basically…" Nivril started getting used to the current state of pain, so he began telling the others about the whole ruffians situation.
The story took a few minutes to tell as he went into detail about the he whole ordeal just stating that he found the inheritance when he got thrown into the ocean rather than the system.
"So basically, these bastards have been trying to kill you for a while now? Why didn't you just tell us?!" Dramil was angered at that detail as much as he wanted the ruffians gone.
"Exactly! How could you hide this from us?! Did you really think we couldn't handle this or something?! I'll have you know I'm much stronger now! That pill and the technique, you gave me helped a lot! I'm missing than ready to help, you dumbass! So let me do so." Sasha added very much feeling similar to Dramil in regards to the situation.
"… Fine, I need some help from both of you, but know that Raylid and the other ruffians, those are mine to handle my way." Nivril was serious and while he seemed somewhat sorry for not telling earlier, his thirst for vengeance was much more apparent in his words and expression.
"… Ok, that's fine by me. Just don't hide stuff like this again or I'll beat you up myself." Despite knowing his words held little power now that his brother had become a cultivator while he was just above the average human, he still held his head high with a smile on his face, as he spoke.
"I don't know, it seems like you are a bit too invested in getting back at them. I don't know if that's the best way to go about this… I feel like just killing them would probably be best." Sasha on the other hand was a bit more worried about the mindset going into this.
"No need for that yet. Plus like I said, there's definitely someone working with them." Nivril immediately rejected the idea and moved on to something else.
"So, you think it's the Bluelion b*tch? Isn't their family the third of the five big clans in Mayort? I'm pretty sure they even make it to the top 30 in the whole country, this isn't small business if they are involved." Dramil responded with a sigh as he looked at the situation.
"You think that's bad? I heard from a friend in my Dojo that they might have connections to the underworld or even worse, to President Ironsoul." Sasha added and her words made both Nivril and Dramil look at her with eyes wide open.
"Ironsoul as in the Iron Lion of Ecronull? The actual President of this country?!" Dramil was the first to react flabbergasted by what she said.
(Even I know who this guy is… it's hard not to when he's constantly on the news. Painted as one of the most dangerous people in the continent.
(Even people in America, Europe, and Asia are looking out for his moves. Apparently, a war might break out son, but it's always like that but then nothing happens.) Nivril was also surprised by this news and could only smile awkwardly at the mere thought of this being related.
"Yeah… who else would I be talking about? He's basically top ten most wanted bad boys in the world, right now…. Though he doesn't compare to hubby." Sasha hugged Nivril as she spoke.
"I mean, I guess it's not every day someone in their early 30s becomes the president of a whole country, even out here in Africa." Dramil added as she tried to wrap his head around this possibility.
"If he's really involved… we're definitely all dead aren't we?" Nivril asked despite knowing the answer.
"The man fought off nukes, not once but multiple times, do you need any further explanation?" Dramil asserted the obvious.
"Oh, the masked lady is waking up." Sasha called their attention to the enemy they had captured.
"Whatever the case, we'll more after we talk to her." Nivril added as the three of them looked at her.
Ishmaya was just there watching with a conflicted expression, apparently still thinking about the prior conversation.
Meanwhile, the masked lady woke up to find herself in a dean of lions as Nivril, Sasha, and Dramil were surrounding her with a malevolent air to them.
