Looking at the floating screen in front of him, Nivril was unsure of whether to take the quest or not, deciding to actually stop to think about it and deal with it later. Where he could get some of his doubts cleared up.
That was when he felt his hair being caressed while his face was pressed against two soft mounds before she said. "You look stressed again, I hope you got over that habit of overthinking things… you would get so stressed a paranoid over small things. You even lost a few good opportunities because of that habit. I'm not saying you shouldn't think things over, but be more loose about it. You don't need to know everything and be 100% sure it will go in your favor... That way, you'll rarely ever get things done or end up giving up before trying."
"… it's hard to trust myself when I don't know enough… though I do believe I have become more decisive, I can't just roll with the punches most of the time, that's not my style. I'm a firm believer in better safe than sorry." Nivril replied sticking to his ways.
"Hehehe, you know you're the kind of person who couldn't be a Hero. You would let the evil demon wreak havoc until you were absolutely sure you could beat it.
"Half the planet would be gone, but you would probably say something like, it was a necessary sacrifice cause if I didn't everyone would have died. Hehehe. Just think about sounds goofy… maybe you wouldn't go that far, but you get the idea. Don't be so afraid to just give it your all and see how it goes." Sasha unknowingly hit the nail in the coffin by describing the kind of Hero, Nivril was in his second life perfectly.
"Hum… I… that's just not viable most of the time.." Nivril who didn't remember his heroics in his second life, also didn't know that she was absolutely correct, but he knew himself enough to know she was probably right and felt self-conscious about it.
"Hum, just what my cute Nivy would say. You're so serious most of the time, seeing you flustered is a treat!" Sasha continued to tease him, already knowing what buttons to push.
"Yeah… just don't call me that... Plus, you say that, but my methods tend to be effective." Nivril raised his eyebrow hearing a pet name he had not been called in ages.
"Hmph! If your wife can't call you Nivy, who can? And don't even get me started on your methods, yeah they work... When you don't just let the whole world burn around you before you're ready." Sasha crossed her arms a spoke with full confidence in her words.
"…" Nivril was left speechless.
(Was this girl always like this?… I feel like she's way more honest about how she feels than in my first life timeline, where she was shy about things and didn't speak like this until her bottled-up emotions exploded. Honestly, even though she's a cheeky fiend, I'll have to tame… I don't think I would like it any other way.) Nivril smiled finally feeling like this third life is more than worth it, as not only was his brother back, even his beloved was too.
"Did the cat eat your tongue? I didn't know I could stop you from answering, that's a new one even for me." Sasha continued amused at his lack of response.
"I was just a little stunned you proclaimed yourself my wife…. As I have said in the past I have no intention of getting married." Nivril said.
"A wife is a wife, who needs marriage? I said it and you love me, so who cares?" Sasha said something that caused Nivril to chuckle.
"… Oh, I forgot that sometimes you're a bit of a musclehead… you do realize the meaning of the word wife, right?" Nivril pointed out still resting on her breasts enjoying his time.
"She's a husband's partner and you're my husband, which makes me your wife. Enough said, don't you dare play grammar with me again." Sasha blushed frustrated at him.
"I was just pointing out that from a semantic point of view…" Nivril continued taking his chance to be the one teasing.
"Urrrgghh! You annoying little… you're lucky I love you so much! But you shouldn't do that, I'm training to be a cultivator, my strength is no longer normal… I might hurt you if I punch you in the shoulder when I get annoyed… so, get strong fast, and I can be your cutely violent girl again." Sasha shamelessly smiled as she described herself.
"Cutely violent… only you would say something that sounds both criminal and shameless with such an innocent smile." Nivril shook his head slightly as he caressed her right cheek.
Though somewhere in his mind a stupid of that My cute first wife can't possibly be a thug, right? Would make for a decently popular novel crossed.
"Don't touch my face, I'm still mad at you! You left me without even leaving a letter! Nothing! I had to pester Dramil until he told me you were still alive! Do you know how worried I was?! And didn't even give me any chocolate! Hmph!" Sasha frowned and her furry was palatable, as she spoke.
By this time, it had been long since Dramil noticed they needed space and convinced everyone to go dance with him, leavening their Vip spot for only the two.
"I… As I said before, I'm very sorry for all the pain I caused you. It was a moment of weakness for me.. I looked at myself and then I looked at you and I just thought... This isn't, it's not fair for her, being with me will only hold her back when she could be doing so much better… among other things.
"I just didn't believe I was good enough, bug now things are different for me... I know what I want, and I know I'm capable enough to make the unbelievable happen. This time, no matter what happens or how I feel, I will not let go of you ever again. You're mine…" Nivril was serious and somber, he regretted it deeply and truly felt he owned her a lot, make things only get as good as they did at all in his first life because of her.
When Nivril in the first life, confessed to her because Dramil made him, he thought only rejection could come his way, but she accepted him and gave him a chance. She helped him grow, and build up some confidence, and while she couldn't fully cure his pushover ways, it was thanks to her that he made it to a good high school in the first place, in the first life and it seems it was the same in this timeline. Though in the first life, he didn't get a scholarship that paid for everything, just an 80% off one.
He already had the academics to do it, he just didn't believe he could and she was the one to push him to do it, and that was where he build the foundation skills he used when Dramil pulled him up using connections.
To Nivril, if it wasn't for her, he would have stayed the same exact meek weakling forever and died without ever realizing how pathetic he truly was.
"Of course, I am, dummy! But that doesn't make me any less mad! I felt a lot of pain when you left… Anyway, I'll be waiting for my chocolate. For now, have this." Sasha leaned toward Nivril and kissed him on his cheek. "When I forgive you, we can have some more fun… until then, I hope this is enough."
"Hummm… I don't know, I feel like I might just need to start looking for a wife who will give me more love." Nivril pushed that button.
"Hmph! Then go and find one! See if I don't put them in their place." Sasha punched Nivril's shoulder and then crossed her arms after snorting.
"Aargh!…" Nivril groaned as he hit the ground, but it didn't actually hurt him all that much, he felt it was strong than your average adult man, however, he was fine, though it would only make Sasha more annoyed if said that.
"That's what you get!… are you ok? Did I hurt you anywhere?" Sasha tried to be mad and turn away, but her urge to make sure he was ok, beat her.
"I'm fine, don't worry. I'll wake up a little sore tomorrow, but I'll be ok." Nivril lied not wanting her to punch him even harder if he said the truth.
*Bang!* At a distance from them, a new VIP group came to take their own place, and one of the men let a drink fall to the ground. Both Nivril and Sasha looked at him because of the noise, but soon lost interest and focused on each other.
From there, they sat again together and just started talking about what they had been up to for the time they were separated.
" So, you got bullied by so thugs because of your looks?!?! You wouldn't happen to know where they live, right?… no, that's not necessary, I'll go to your school myself and teach them a lesson! It would also be a good opportunity to show the b*tches there that you have a beautiful woman already, so they won't try anything stupid." Sasha had veins in her forehead hearing that Nivril was bullied, though he left out the alleyway incident, as that would lead to explaining the system, and that's something he would rather keep to himself for now.
"Don't worry about them, I'll deal with them myself. As for girls, I thought you agreed to me having more women?" Nivril questioned.
"I did, but only if you choose them on your own accord. Of course, I don't want a bunch of girls seducing my man. If I can cut it short I will… unless you're embarrassed by having me as your wife and that's why you don't want me there…" Sasha looked at Nivril with teary eyes.
"If you really want to come, I mind taking you to my school, but you're going to take responsibility if I kill some guy for trying to hit on you." Nivril expressed.
"Humph! That's not fair, I'll just take care of them myself, as I told you I'm trying to become a cultivator and I'm already much stronger than a normal person. Though I still have a long way to go before becoming a cultivator." Sasha proclaimed as she flexed her rather muscular arms.
"Yeah… you should also tell me about that. How has it been so far?" Nivril asked.
"It's been a lot of fun. It's quite crazy to think that humans can become so powerful, but I saw it with two eyes, a man destroying a whole house with a single punch! And the teachers and other disciples are all rather nice to me… though things tend to get cold, ruthless, and merciless very quickly, so it's not all flowers and roses. If I don't keep up, I could die." Sasha explained a bit of what it was like.
"… I see… If that's what you really want, just be careful." Nivril hearing this, immediately turned to the quest and pressed [Accept].
[You have accepted the quest. Good luck.]
He planned on using the rewards to help Sasha as much as he could and would ask the system about his doubts later.
"Of course, I'll be! I have to be at 100% when I come back to you. Plus, I really like the idea of it… you know… I plan to build my own clan once I'm powerful enough!" Sasha expressed with a slight blush.
"That's amazing, I'm sure you'll create the best clan in the whole country! No! The whole continent and maybe the future is nice to us, the whole world will bow down to it!" Nivril smiled as he cheered her on.
"Hehehehe! Don't give me so much false hope! It won't be that big, but it will definitely become a big name, I can guarantee that!" Sasha spoke full of confidence as she puffed out her chest.
At that time the man from before, who had let a bottle fall to the ground, came to them with a silly smile on and an obviously drunk posture.
"Hey, pink hottie! Do you want to leave the hobo here and come have some real fun with me?! We actually have drinks and people, not like this empty junk space!" The moment he got closer enough he tried to pull Sasha him.
However, before he or Nivril could react, Sasha herself grabbed the man's wrist and twisted it, making him fall to his knees.
"Let go of me! Crazy b*tch! Do you have any idea, who I am?!" The man immediately began complaining as he insulted her.
"Shut up scum! I'm trying to have a nice moment with my husband! And you come here with your disgusting drunk stupidity to bother us?! Do you have a death wish?! Is pass-time to bother married women?!!" Sasha applied more force to her grip as she looked down at the man with disgust and hate while pressing him with questions and a suffocating aura.
(That's my girl!… she's more powerful in this timeline, but just as fierce as in the first one… I guess I shouldn't worry too much, she can take care of herself.) Nivril nodded in approval as he saw the scene unfold.
"I'm sorry! I'm sorry! Forgive me! I didn't know you were married! And! And! To such a refined young man! Please let me go!" The man panicked as the pain and pressure overwhelmed him.
"Oh! And how do you plan on compensating me?! Because of you! My husband had to see an unsightly side of me!! Spit it out you spineless sh*t!!!" Sasha grabbed her quarterstaff and used it to press the man's head against the floor, as she acted like a thug ruthlessly robbing someone who entered the wrong neighborhood.
"Money! Money! My car! My phone! Take it all! It's all I have on me! Just please let me go!" The man pleaded while in tears, regretting his decision to approach such a crazy and dangerous woman.
"How about your house?! Your family?! Do you have a wife?!" Sasha pressed him further mercilessly corning him into submission.
"You can have it too, just take the house! But please don't bring my wife into this! She just got pregnant recently! So please spare us!" At this point, the man was balling his eyes out with snot escaping his nose as he begged for mercy.
"Hmph! Shut up trash! My hubby is the one deciding that! Pathetic vermin like you have no rights or voice without permission!!" Sasha spit on the man and made sure he stayed down before looking back at Nivril with the most innocent and pure smile, then asking. "What do you think we should do with him, my love?"
(This woman… she's terrifying! And I love it! That's what you get for trying to steal my wife! However, he didn't really do anything, it's not like care.. I'm supposed to be amoral or something… but I guess I still have to work on that.) Nivril smiled at the man's misery.
"This time, you'll get off the hook with a warning, leave the money, and get lost! If I ever see your fave again, however! You won't be so lucky… but I'm a nice cultivator, so a mortal like you has no real value. Disappear before I change my mind!" Nivrik looked down at the man with total indifference and even lied about being a cultivator to make sure he won't try anything funny.
At that time, Sasha let go of the man.
"Of course! Of course! Thank you oh great cultivator! Thank you for your mercy!" The man thanked them and left all the money on him there then ran off.
"Look at you, being a danger to society." Nivril said as he pulled her to sit on his lap.
"… I just wanted to see you act cool for a little… so I used that useless man." Sasha sat on his lap but maintained a certain distance as it seemed she was still mad at him.
(It seems like my first wife might actually be a thug… ) Nivril smiled awkwardly as this thought hit him.
