Welcome to Neveros, a world based around the saying "Power Corrupts"
The saying refers to the lessening of morality in a person when they gain power.
Alright, enough of this. Let's talk about Neveros, shall we?
A world where technological prowess, unmatched potential and power lead to the doom of civilisations—
Tall skyscrapers, gigantic castles and forts line the earth, but.. instead of standing as a testament of advancements, they stand as the hives of the corrupt and oppressive overlords. The lands no longer provide freedom as Dread Knights; automatons which resemble a knight clad in armour and made from the fusion of flesh and machine, wreak havoc to anyone who stands against their masters.
Giant airships, mechanical dragons and jets circle the skies, but not as the overseers of the land, but rather, aerial beings who spread darkness and opression, akin to vultures and ravens. And, the supreme menaces of the endless skies, the dreaded machineries, Dread Angels; gigantic floating islands, akin to a floating fortress of absolute doom and death, armed with devastating weaponry, ranging from missles, rockets, guns to weapons that put nuclear and atomic weaponry to shame. The skies no longer stay as a purity of nature as toxic fumes of red, crimson and green pollute them. And, as for the less scary machineries, there are the Wraith Winds; machineries which resemble vultures, ravens and crows, they're made from the dark union of machine and flesh.
Ships, mechanical hydro-dragons and submarines sail through the seas, but not as a show of defiance to the waves but, rather, guards who ensure that nobody escapes the lands of their masters. And, the true menaces of the seas would be the dreaded Dread Leviathans; mobile islands which are used as giant battle stations, each one having the power equivalent to one or sometimes, multiple military bases, having ordinances, aerial power and naval power. The seas no longer provide solace to aquatic life as the waters darken from pollutants and the existence of the Blackwater Dreads; shark-like automatons that ensure nobody unworthy dares trespass into the seas, they too are birthed of the dark union of flesh and twisted machine.
Though, you still don't find the relation of Neveros to the saying: Power Corrupts.
Well, in the beginning, it wasn't like this. No.. it was the opposite.
Terms—
Mechanical Dragons: these machines are either automatons; functioning without external agency or are mounts; machines which are akin to vehicles. Mechanical Dragons, or Mecha-Dragons are.. as the name suggests, giant machines which resemble dragons, in the present, they're used for warfare and as aerial sentires which ensure compliance. In the past, they were used as a testament of advancements, transport, shows and, of course, warfare.
Mechanical Hydro-dragon: Machineries which resemble sea dragons or giant sea serpents, they're a menace of the seas, ramming through any naval vessels who dare cross their paths. They are either automatons; beings who function on their own and operate without external agency or mounts; machineries which are piloted by people and function as vehicles. In the present, they're weapons of mass destruction, capable of sinking ships with their devastating weapons. In the past, they served the same purpose but also as a testament to the advancements of technology and power.
