The beggar's hands trembled as he stood there. His impassive face gave away no clue whether it was excitement or anger that moved him.
He watched as Principal Kampas indulged in his fine wine and perused his book, seemingly oblivious to everything around him.
With no other options left, the beggar slowly closed his eyes. He turned and began to shuffle toward the door…
"What's the matter? You think I'm being cruel?"
Principal Kampas looked up from his book with an air of indifference and watched the beggar retreating back. The beggar didn't respond; he just kept walking forward.
"I know it's impossible for a beggar like you, who can hardly support yourself, to raise a child. After all, she is the offspring of my students. If it weren't such a hassle, I wouldn't want to see her die young. Hmm… I have an idea."
Kampas closed his book and, with a calculated pause, clasped his hands before him.
