Chapter 17 - Chapter Seventeen

We sat like that for a while while he worked. Suddenly the door slammed open. I looked behind me to see an angry man standing in the doorway.

"I'm sorry Mr. Knight. He wouldn't wait." I heard from behind him. I looked where the voice came from and saw a beta standing there breathing heavily.

"It's ok Justin. Go back to work." Raiven's grip tightened around me. I can tell he was annoyed.

"Raiven?" I looked up at him questionably. I didn't know what was going on.

"It's ok, Lil bit. Don't worry." Raiven smiled at me. He then looked up at the man and his face darkened. "What do you want Dylan?"

The man's eyes narrowed as he came into the room. He didn't even wait to be told to sit. He sat down in the chair in front of the desk and crossed his legs.

"What is this about you rejecting Azule? You knew she liked you for years."

Raiven's fingers dug into my hips. "Don't care if she liked me. She could like me for a lifetime and I wouldn't care. To me, she was just a friend."

"Oh really? Then why did you save her back then?"

Raiven shrugged. "Anyone with a conscience would save someone from being raped. I knew if I didn't do it then my mate would be mad at me if he found out." He smiled down at me.

"Your mate?"

"Yes. I knew Killian was my mate when I presented. There were just personal reasons I couldn't meet him in person until he was 18." He rubbed his nose on my neck.

"So this is the reason you rejected Azule? So why did you lead her on?"

Raiven looked up at the man and glared. "Lead her on? I told her multiple times that I will not be with her. I told her I was a one and done kind of man. I was waiting for my mate. She just wouldn't leave me alone. I treated her like a friend but she wouldn't back off."

The man looked taken aback. It was like he never heard about this. "I'm sorry. I didn't know. She came home before she took her exams and locked herself in her room. I finally got her to open the door and tell me what was wrong."

"What did she say?"

"She said you have a new mate and rejected her"

Raiven sighed. He pulled me closer. "We ran into her the day I took Killian to the college since we bonded that morning. It was the day after his 18th birthday. She ambushed us in the lobby and disrespected Killian. You know how it is for alphas that are newly bonded."

The man hung his head. "I'm sorry she did that. I'll deal with her."

"No. I'll do it when I'm ready." He looked down at me. "Right now I only care for Killian."

"Really?" The man looked confused.

"Yes. After all it was to us she acted the way she did. You know the one to deal with whoever disrespects them is the one they disrespected. Not their family." Raiven looked straight into the man's face.

The man sighed. "True. Let me know if you need me to do something."

"I will. Now, I have work to do and would like to spend time with my mate."

The man stood up and looked at me. I tilted my head. A small smile spread on his lips. "He's pretty. Congrats Raiven."

Raiven laughed. "You shouldn't have said that. He was raised as an alpha. He wouldn't like being called pretty."

"Oh yeah? What's his name?"

Raiven looked down at me. "Do you want to tell him or me?"

I looked up at him for a second before looking back at the man. "Killian Borg."

His head tilted. "Borg? As in SilverHeart?"

I looked deeply into his eyes. "Yes. I'm the second born."

The man looked back at Raiven. "Wow. You really lucked out. But I thought the Borg family were all alpha."

"Yes, but I was born omega. My family hid that fact and gave me medicine so I can seem like an alpha."

"Ah. Cool." He then turned around and left the office.

I looked up at Raiven. "Who was that?"

Raiven frowned. "That was Azules' older brother Dylan. He came to start trouble but got sidetracked with my info."

Raiven POV

After Dylan left I was seething. Not only did Azule disrespected my mate but her brother barged into my office when I was with Killian to cause trouble. I'm pretty sure he didn't know Killian would be with me and just wanted to cause trouble with me since he has a sister complex.

Whatever Azule wanted Dylan gave her. If something went wrong in her achieving her goals he steps in to clear the path. Since I basically rejected Azule and upset her Dylan had to step in and do the dirty work. Only thing is there was nothing Dylan could do.

When I was done with work I dropped Killian off at his house. I kissed him deeply before he walked in the door and I drove back home. I have to talk to my dad and see what I could do about Azule.

I may be the Alpha of the pack but my dad still runs it until I am mated. I don't mean finding my mate. If that was the condition I would have been Alpha and running the pack a long time ago.

No. I had to be 20 and fully mated. I'm 20 so I'm the Alpha but I'm not fully mated yet so my dad still runs the pack. He does take his orders from me but he carries them out. In the pack's eyes I'm only Alpha in name only.

When I walked into the house I looked around for my dad but didn't see him. When he's not in the living room there would be only one place he would be. The Alpha's office. I walked into the office and stood in front of the desk.

My dad looked up from some papers and saw me standing there. He quickly stands up and walks around the desk and sits in one of the chairs in front of it. I walk behind the desk and sit in the seat he vacated. I lean forward onto my elbows and steepled my fingers.

My dad looks at me. "What could I do for you, Raiven?"

I scowled. "Killian was disrespected the first day we bonded."

I watched my dad's facial features. He looked surprised. Not many had the guts to disrespect an omega in the presence of their alpha. "By whom?"

My scowl deepened. I was disgusted. "Azule."

I watched as an understanding expression crossed his eyes. He knew about Azule's feelings for me. She didn't hide it. "What happened?"

"I took Killian to the college with me since I had my exams and the bond was new. We couldn't be away from each other for long without getting anxious. When we stepped out of the office she ran into me and wrapped her arms around me. When I removed them and started to comfort Killian, Azule started asking why it was Killian and not her."

My dad sat back and sighed. "Oh no. That's not good. I never did understand why you kept her as a friend when you knew about her feelings."

I sat back also and crossed my arms. "I saved her from being raped. I felt a sense of responsibility. But now with how she treated Killian that sense has evaporated. I can't condone her behavior."

My dad nodded. "I understand. You're a great alpha."

I gave my dad a small smile. "I have to deal with her in some way. What are the usual ways to deal with this?"

My dad looked thoughtful. "Is she the only one you want to deal with?"

I thought back to when Dylan barged into my office. "No. I think I want to deal with the whole Bradley family."

His head tilted. "Why?"

My face darkened. "Her brother Dylan barged into my office earlier. Killian was with me."

"Why did he do that?"

"Azule told him I had a new mate and I rejected her. He came to cause trouble. He didn't know Killian would be with me. I told him what happened and he left calmly. Even so I want to deal with him for barging into my office."

A smirk lifted up my dad's lips. I guess he likes the fact I am ruthless when it comes to my mate. "Understandable." He rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "There are a few ways to deal with them. One's making their company lose money and damage their pack's reputation. Another is to bring Azule in front of all the packs and use her as an example. That would also rub off on her family and pack since they raised her like that." He tilted his head further. "You could combine them."

The last part got my attention. "Combine?"

"Yes. Their company loses money, she is used as an example and the pack's reputation is ruined." I like that idea.
