Chapter 337 - Chapter 337: Loki's Failed Invisibility

"Gone?!" As Loki willed it, his figure completely vanished from sight, leaving Thor bewildered and looking around. Because of the brainwashing, he had completely forgotten Loki's abilities, so now seeing Loki disappear, Thor was clueless about the tactic used.

"Thor, are you okay?" Seeing that Thor had finally stopped, McCarthy breathed a sigh of relief. Although Thor was not himself, his power was formidable. Moreover, the method of brainwashing Thor was not only known to Ah fu; McCarthy knew it too, and could use Thor, originally Ah fu's subordinate, for his own purposes!

"I'm fine, was that person really Loki? What did he want with me?" Thor gestured dismissively, his eyes flickering with confusion.

"Perhaps, they aren't ready to let you go..." McCarthy's eyes shifted, and he spoke solemnly, "Originally, your banishment to Earth should have ended everything, but with our organization's help, you regained powerful strength. The gods fear your power, so they intend to come down and check on you, to deal with you once and for all!"

"Is that so?" Thor's gaze flickered slightly. Although he was still asking, the brainwashing made him largely believe it, especially since he felt a very familiar aura on Loki when he appeared, and the mixed feelings of indignation and disbelief when he heard Loki was framing him, undoubtedly telling Thor that what McCarthy said was true.

"Indeed!" McCarthy felt somewhat helpless at this point, but seeing that Thor believed him, he continued to spin the story he had concocted, while silently noting these plot points and thinking about how to keep deceiving Thor in the future.

"I've already come to this, and they still won't let me go!" Anger flashed in Thor's eyes as he stared at the spot where Loki had just been, his fists clenched tightly. McCarthy, in a momentary daze, seemed to see sparks flickering over Thor's fists!

"Is this an illusion?" When McCarthy looked again at Thor's fist, the sparks had already disappeared, as if it had just been his imagination.

But at that moment, a new thought uncontrollably rose in McCarthy's mind: "Damn, could it be that what Thor said is true?"

Thinking this, McCarthy quickly shook his head, laughing mockingly at himself, feeling perhaps he was being influenced by Thor's mind. How could there really be gods? And even if gods truly existed, they couldn't possibly hide from our organization!

"It looks like, staying with a lunatic can easily turn you into one. If I really saw some filthy thing and started flailing like Thor, that would be embarrassing..." After coming back to his senses, McCarthy shook his head resignedly, a thought crossing his mind.

"McCarthy, since they're targeting me, then be prepared to pay the price. Can you help me find their location?" Just as McCarthy thought he was sobering up, Thor turned his head and looked at him earnestly.

"Uh..." McCarthy was stunned for a moment, various plans flashing through his mind before he looked at Thor seriously and said, "Are you ready? Although our organization has top-notch intelligence, finding gods is not so easy, especially since the abilities of gods are very alien to us. What we find might not truly be the gods themselves!"

"Then let's sever all the disciples of these gods!" A chill flashed in Thor's eyes. His demeanor could not simply be described as abhorring evil; rather, it could be said he detested gods!

"Alright! I'll investigate. Wait for my news. You also need to strengthen yourself during this time, after all, gods are not to be trifled with!" Excitement flashed in McCarthy's eyes, not a performance but genuine excitement.

Now that Thor needed his help in finding the whereabouts of gods, who would be deemed a god or a disciple was up to McCarthy. Eventually, he could have Thor help him deal with many people, making a profit while eliminating rivals!

In the base, McCarthy left with plans in mind, leaving Thor to continue training. With the appearance of his arch-nemesis, the gods, Thor felt a sense of urgency. He had forgotten what divine laws he had violated and how powerful the gods really were...

But after Thor's attacks on Loki were easily dodged, followed by Loki suddenly disappearing without a trace, Thor realized his strength was still not enough, and he needed to become even stronger.

Elsewhere, believing his plot against Thor had been exposed, Loki moved away from Thor's location, his heart still filled with doubts. He was questioning what kind of place he had come to. Was it really the backward Midgard he remembered? Why did the people of Midgard know so much about his actions? What had Thor experienced? Hadn't he just arrived in Midgard a few days ago?

Doubts swirled in Loki's mind, but no one

could provide him with answers. Originally, Loki thought that only Thor's battle methods had changed, that he could easily coax out Thor's experiences...

Yet, his recent experience told Loki that Thor had completely changed. Now, except for looking the same, the Thor he knew was no longer there, even though they had only been apart for a short time...

"What exactly happened to Thor? After being stripped of his powers by Odin, did he really change that much?" Loki looked in the direction where Thor was, feeling no joy at seeing Thor reduced to a mere mortal and filled with hatred for the Asgardian gods. This was not the Thor he wanted to see.

Loki didn't want Thor to completely forget their shared memories—memories of a thousand years. How could they just be forgotten like that? Loki didn't even suspect that Thor was brainwashed; instead, he wondered if the All-Father Odin had altered Thor's memories, as Earthlings shouldn't be aware of his schemes and couldn't possibly have such advanced abilities.

Because of these doubts, Loki couldn't even approach Odin to seek the truth, leaving him feeling confused and briefly lost...

For thousands of years, although Loki had many grievances against Thor and had plotted against him numerous times, most of his actions were based on what Thor did, especially regarding the throne of Asgard.

Now, Loki was barely sitting on the throne of Asgard with Odin unconscious, and Thor, having lost his memories and begun to hate Asgard, Loki didn't know how to handle these matters anymore.

"Right, the Warriors Three!" A thought flashed through Loki's mind, "The Warriors Three will definitely come looking for Thor. Since that's the case, I might as well make it easy and contact Heimdall first, but, being a temporary king, Heimdall wouldn't dare deceive me!"

"Heimdall, if Sif and the others come to you wanting to be sent to Midgard to find Thor, you don't need to refuse them or act secretly without my knowledge. I permit you to send them to Midgard..." Soon, Loki communicated with Heimdall.

"What does Your Majesty mean?" Heimdall, standing next to his sister Sif, asked without changing his expression.

"It means nothing much, we've known each other for many years after all. If they want to find Thor, I naturally can't oppose it," Loki replied generously.

"Oh? After becoming the King of Gods, Your Majesty seems to have a bit of a benevolent king's demeanor. Does Your Majesty intend to send Sif and the others to Midgard to keep Thor company?" Heimdall paused for a moment, then asked with a smile.

"I found that there's a problem with Thor's memory, Heimdall, do you know who did it?" Loki didn't answer Heimdall's question but instead asked in return.

"I don't know who did it. I can see what happens in the nine realms, but I can't always watch what's happening on Thor's end..." Heimdall immediately denied it.

"Alright, then I know." Loki paused for a moment, then said with a smile, "As Thor's brother, I naturally don't want him to continue in this state. I can't awaken his memory at this time, so I can only let Sif and the others try, as their relationship with him is much better than mine, and they have a sincerity that I don't have!"

"I will send them to Midgard. When do you plan to return, Your Majesty?" Heimdall looked at Sif and the others next to him and continued communicating with Loki.

"I am already in Asgard, aren't I? I am waving at you right now, can you see?" Hearing Heimdall's words, Loki smiled and waved his hand from inside the palace, as he was talking to Heimdall.

"As long as Your Majesty is happy, just make sure nothing goes wrong. If there is no one on the throne of Asgard, people from within the nine realms will surely covet Asgard!" Heimdall looked at Loki in the palace hall and nodded softly.

"Even beyond the nine realms, many forces within the universe covet the wealth of Asgard, after all, compared to other pantheons, Asgard interacts more with the universe..."

"Don't worry, I have it under control..." Loki responded casually, ending the conversation with Heimdall. Under Heimdall's watchful eyes, Loki on Earth disappeared, his eyes, like Clark's, could see through the nine realms, but they were not without limits, and Loki was one of the few beings who could evade Heimdall's sight!

Loki's combat prowess might not be formidable, but his mastery of illusions and invisibility was peerless, making him a top-level sorcerer in these arts!

Meanwhile, the vanished Loki did not return to Asgard, nor did he seek out Thor again. He embarked on a quest to find the Hammer of Thor.

Even though Loki now occupied the throne of Asgard, and despite the significant changes and hardships Thor was experiencing making it hard for Loki, he still wanted to prove himself with the Hammer of Thor.

"Right, it's here..." Before long, Loki arrived at the location of the Hammer of Thor, or rather, at Robert's location, where the Hammer of Thor lay unattended on the ground. Robert was busy teaching Peter Parker to transform his energy into thunderous power.

If Peter could succeed, Robert planned to guide him to see if he could absorb some energy from the Hammer of Thor.

What? The Hammer of Thor is an Asgardian artifact? No worries, Robert had already investigated, and the energy within the Hammer of Thor was practically infinite for Peter, a little absorption wouldn't hurt.

However, these energies were somewhat trivial for Robert. Although more potent than his own, Robert couldn't just drain the entire Hammer of Thor on the spot. If Thor ended up holding a powerless Hammer of Thor, he would probably collapse...

Of course, during this time, Robert had already thoroughly researched the thunderous power contained within the Hammer of Thor, but he could only barely grasp a bit of the divine power.

"Hmm?" As Robert was instructing Peter Parker, he suddenly raised an eyebrow and looked towards Loki, who was inconspicuously approaching the Hammer of Thor.

"Hmm?" Peter Parker also furrowed his brows soon after. He sensed something but couldn't locate Loki, ending up confusedly looking at Robert.

"Robert, who is this? Is he here to steal the hammer? Could he be Thor?" Kara, also somewhat puzzled, looked at Loki without alerting him, instead telepathically asking Robert.

"Don't rush, let's see what he's up to." A gleam of curiosity flashed in Robert's eyes as he too was curious about Loki. Judging by his aura, Loki's strength was decent, possibly a match for Peter Parker, so Robert telepathically reassured the alert Kara and Peter not to disturb Loki, to avoid scaring him off.

At this moment, Loki, confident in his invisibility magic, did not realize he had been exposed. With two pairs of eyes watching him, he approached the Hammer of Thor, his gaze flickering slightly, seemingly getting closer to his long-held dream...
