"Is there a problem with the spell? It's only been a short while, and two out of three people have already passed the test of Mjolnir? Did I set the bar too low with my spell, or are these Earthlings just exceptionally noble?" Odin, watching over Mjolnir, was momentarily baffled, doubting his own decisions.
After all, Mjolnir now had another master, and the once exceptionally valuable position of the God of Thunder seemed to be depreciating...
"It doesn't make sense, what kind of spell did Odin put on Mjolnir? Does pure belligerence count as purity?" The Ancient One mused, finding it unscientific, "Then wouldn't pure evil be even purer? A villainous God of Thunder? Moreover, by that logic, Odin's belligerent son could still lift Mjolnir..."
"That's it?" Under the watchful eyes of both Odin and the Ancient One, both godly patriarchs, Robert casually swung Mjolnir and smiled at Clark, "Is it that hard? Don't you just need hands?"
"How did you do it? Your character shouldn't qualify you to lift Mjolnir!" Clark, though hesitant to say something so blunt, still felt compelled to express his disbelief.
Just as Clark's character had inevitably been influenced by Robert, Clark knew that Robert had also been somewhat tempered by his influence and that of the Kents, restraining some of his more extreme tendencies.
Clark thought that if Robert had not been adopted by his family, he might have become one of the world's most notorious killers. Even if Robert didn't want to kill that many people, as more and more people took notice of him, more would end up dead by his hand, creating a vicious cycle...
And even though Robert had reduced his killing under the influence of Clark and the Kents, Clark didn't believe his brother would be considered a good person by normal standards, which is why Clark had initially doubted Robert's ability to lift Mjolnir.
But what was happening now made Clark question whether he really understood Robert or if perhaps Robert actually had the potential to be good.
"Maybe it's because my energy is special? My energy isn't divided into justice and darkness but is more like a pure form, close to the natural state of the universe..." Robert shrugged nonchalantly, "Besides, do I really not seem like a good person to you?"
Robert noted that he had also ridden on the Flying Nimbus, which recognized pure-hearted individuals. If Mjolnir's recognition system was similar, then it wasn't strange for him to be able to lift it, given that he generally did not harbor evil intentions unless provoked. He liked to fight, but he wasn't fond of conquest, slaughter, or destruction...
"Your way of doing things..." Clark opened his mouth but found himself at a loss for words.
"It's not like killing someone means you're not a good person. I kill without guilt, not for pleasure, and I don't enjoy torturing others. Even if I do it occasionally, it doesn't bring me joy..." Robert spread his hands. If having killed meant you couldn't lift Mjolnir, then how would Mjolnir define a person? Clark had killed many demons and other beings himself; could it be that Mjolnir only recognized Earth humans as people?
"Alright, it seems the requirements for Mjolnir aren't that strict. But then again, if they were really strict, perhaps Thor wouldn't have been able to lift Mjolnir either..." Hearing Robert's words, Clark felt there might be some truth to them, but he was even less clear about Mjolnir's conditions. It made no sense to him that Robert could lift it but Lana couldn't, so he could only assume that Odin hadn't set clear standards.
"The power within it is quite interesting, stronger than the thunder power I've evolved. It seems to contain certain mysteries and even seems to grant the ability to wear a battle suit..." Robert was no longer concerned with how he managed to lift Mjolnir; his focus was on the hammer itself, particularly after sensing the power it conferred.
Like Tony Stark, who was fascinated by the scientific aspect of abilities, Robert was equally intrigued by all kinds of superhuman powers. If he could develop similar abilities himself, he was eager to do so, much like his previous interest in magical spells compared to the power within Mjolnir.
If not for the evil and complex nature of the powers contained in General Bart's mask, originating from a dark dimension and only borrowable, not controllable, General Bart might have lived longer...
"Just study it for now; we'll have to return Mjolnir later. After all, it's an artifact of Asgard, and we aren't thieves to keep what
isn't ours..." Clark reminded Robert, knowing the origin and purpose of Mjolnir from Odin and thus not intending to keep it. Although it was unlikely that Thor would change completely, Odin would surely want his son to earn his way through trials.
"I don't like relying on external things; my body is the best weapon!" Robert shook his head, speaking softly, "You know I never claimed those spells as my own, right?"
"Where are Vikings from again?" Lana suddenly chimed in, hearing the conversation between Clark and Robert, and looked curiously at Mjolnir in Robert's hand.
"Scandinavia..." Clark's lips twitched slightly, and then he couldn't help but laugh, considering the Vikings, also known as Norsemen, whose religion was indeed Norse mythology.
"Speaking of which, if both of us have been recognized by Mjolnir, what happens if we both call it at the same time? Who will it fly to?" After examining Mjolnir, Robert looked at Clark, raising a new question.
"Hmm?!" Clark paused at this, and Lana also looked curiously, her gaze wandering among Robert, Clark, and Mjolnir.
"Eh?" Robert looked surprised at Mjolnir in his hand as he sensed it trembling slightly. Yes, it was definitely trembling, and he wasn't mistaken!
"Should we try?" Robert and Clark exchanged glances, and Robert tossed Mjolnir into the sky, then motioned for it to come. Instantly, Mjolnir flew towards him.
"Buzz!" But at that moment, Clark also motioned to Mjolnir, and it immediately hovered in mid-air, trembling, oscillating between heading towards Robert and Clark, and then seemed to crash, continuing to tremble while suspended in the air...
"...In Asgard, having returned to the palace, King Odin fell silent, suddenly regretting his decision to enchant Mjolnir.
Originally, Mjolnir was without any enchantment, belonging solely to Asgard's heir to the throne, fought with by the Goddess of Death, Hela, and before today, Thor.
But now, with the spell placed, Mjolnir had quickly gained two new masters, and that was simultaneously, causing both Odin and Mjolnir to be silent, unsure of whose call to follow...
"Whoosh!" However, in the end, Mjolnir made a decision. It flew into Clark's hands, settling down and not heading towards Robert.
"It seems it still has a higher approval of me..." Clark lifted Mjolnir, looking at Robert and smiling.
"Yeah, probably, but what if multiple people call Mjolnir at the same time? Could it yield different results?" Robert nodded, then became curious again.
"How could there be multiple people? Did you really think Mjolnir would recognize two out of three people?" Clark shook his head helplessly, softly speaking.
"Let's try it, what could happen..." Robert shrugged and secretly messaged Kara, "Bring Peter Parker and the others over; I've found something fun!"
"Why are you home so early today? What's the fun thing?" Kara's eyes lit up hearing Robert's voice. Lately, Robert had been helping Tony Stark with mech research and had less time for her, but she was equally curious about what Robert considered fun. Was it another mech to dismantle?
"Come over and you'll see!" Robert kept it a mystery, not revealing it directly.
"Hmph! You won't tell me? I'll make you regret it when I get back!" Kara huffed, not pleased. She didn't want to find out at the same time as Peter Parker and the others. As Robert's girlfriend, she should know before them!
"Let's just put it on the ground; Kara and the others are almost here..." Robert smiled, looking at Clark expectantly, "Guess how many of them will be able to lift Mjolnir?"
"If they really can lift Mjolnir, then I might have to lower the difficulty for Thor to lift it again..." Clark set Mjolnir down, looking in the direction Kara and the others were coming with a somewhat helpless expression.
"What's the fun thing? You don't mean this hammer, do you?" Soon, Kara flew in, not showing her full speed, but slightly ahead of the others.
In the Z-Warrior team, apart from Kara leading, the group included Barry Allen, Pietro, Peter Parker, Lana, Susan Storm, and Johnny Storm lagging behind; their speed difference was clearly visible.
"Yes, this hammer. Kara, see if you can lift it..." Robert watched Kara, nodding and speaking softly.
"This shouldn't be hard, huh? What a strange hammer..." Kara glanced at Mjolnir, her brows furrowing slightly as she noticed a surge
of tremendous energy within.
"Snap!" The next moment, Kara reached out for Mjolnir, and since she had heard Robert's remark and noticed something unusual about Mjolnir, she didn't hold back. Her arm powered up, and she instantly took off, flying up with Mjolnir.
After lifting Mjolnir, Kara looked somewhat bewildered, especially as she sensed the energy emerging from it.
"See? Lifting this Mjolnir isn't anything special..." Robert looked at Clark and shrugged, implying that Clark's earlier talk of recognition was just him boasting. Even after Robert lifted Mjolnir, he didn't feel he possessed the many great qualities Clark mentioned.
"..." Hearing Robert's remark and watching Kara fly back with Mjolnir, Clark fell silent. Although he found Kara lifting Mjolnir more convincing than Robert, having another recognized user of Mjolnir felt odd.
Even Clark wondered if Thor's attitude might subtly change when he eventually regained Mjolnir's approval, only to find so many others could also wield it.
"This power is really strong, almost as strong as mine..." Kara's body flashed with thunderous light, less controlled than Robert's handling of Mjolnir's power. The thunder leaked out, dressing Kara in a strange battle suit, causing Peter Parker and the others to jump away, wary of being electrified on the spot.
"Let's explore this later, see if anyone else can lift Mjolnir..." Robert smiled at Kara, looking expectantly at Peter Parker and the others, hoping they could achieve the same.
"I'll try!" Seeing Kara put down Mjolnir, though unsure of what had happened, Lana quickly stepped forward and reached for Mjolnir, "Hm?"
