In the wilderness of the island, Carol caught up with her family while exchanging information with Robert and others. One side learned more about the current geopolitical structure of Earth, while the other side learned about the background of the universe. Meanwhile, Nick Fury was having a tough time...
Suddenly losing track of Carol, Nick Fury felt uncertain and anxious. Unsure of what Carol had encountered, he hesitated for a moment before pulling out his pager.
As a device capable of transmitting signals across the cosmos, it was Nick Fury's only way to contact Carol now. Unfortunately, while the pager indeed reached Carol through subspace, she showed no intention of coming out to meet Nick Fury.
For a while, Carol did not know how to interact with her old friend, as the Nick Fury she remembered seemed somewhat changed. While he used to work officially, Carol could still sense sincerity and conscience in him.
But now, Nick Fury had completely turned into a politician, especially since he had not taken care of the Danvers family at all, which deeply disappointed Carol...
Thus, with Nick Fury's intelligence, Carol vanished from sight until several days later when Alexis reappeared at the superhuman agency. Nick Fury still had no reply from Carol, which made him frown and finally decide to send someone to make contact with Alexis.
Unfortunately, since Nick Fury's people could not reveal their identities, there was basically no progress. Alexis was no fool and would not trust a stranger bearing their soul after just a few words.
Of course, Nick Fury did not know that if his people revealed their identities, Alexis would be even less likely to speak...
Thus, Nick Fury was at an impasse. Due to Alexis's special identity, he was unwilling to harm her, making it even harder to find information about Carol.
Originally, Nick Fury was comforted by Carol's presence, thinking he could solve the problems with Superman and the Saiyans once and for all. But now he was troubled again, trying to maintain a good relationship with Alexis while seeking other solutions.
Nick Fury believed Carol was not in danger, knowing her strength. After all, if something really happened to Carol, wouldn't Alexis be affected too?
Carol was indeed safe; she was still on the island. When Carol and others left, Alexis was sent out.
Hearing that Clark and Robert planned to use the wilderness island as a retreat for both families in the future, Carol voluntarily stayed to help plan and develop this new base.
Robert had planned to stay too, but Kara forcefully took him away. Kara knew Robert's nature; he was eager to challenge Carol's strength in a fight...
When the Danvers and Kent families were around, Robert couldn't make his move, but he would definitely have tried if the parents had left.
However, Kara did not want to give Robert the chance to fight Carol because she saw a similar, yet distinct, valiant spirit in Carol as in Diana. Even though Carol was Kara's sister and Kara believed Robert would not do such a thing, a crisis of trust still existed...
When Kara pulled Robert away, he seemed to realize this and did not resist. He knew that even if Kara had said that it was fine for Diana not to appear before her, it was not easy for Kara's feelings to recover.
As for what was said many days ago, that they would go to Diana to apologize in two days, Robert could only postpone it indefinitely. When the time came, he'd let Diana vent her anger with a fight! The key was to fully appease Kara first...
But before that, Robert still needed to improve his strength. Not to mention Carol's recent appearance, which brought a magnificent cosmic story to Robert, he had to prepare for his future encounter with Diana. He couldn't afford to lose that fight...
Originally, if his relationship with Kara hadn't progressed further, Robert felt he could have won a fight against Diana. But now, he would face a Diana at full divine power, even using the thunder of heaven and earth to enhance her divine rage...
"You are very strong." However, what Robert didn't know was that after they all left, Carol, who stayed behind on the island to design the base, suddenly stopped, turned to Clark, and said, "You all are not weak. Your girlfriend and Kara are slightly less strong, Robert has great destructive power, but you, I can't see through you..."
"I felt before that Robert wanted to fight with me, but for some reason, Kara seemed very reluctant, and eventually, she pulled him away..."
"Want to try?" Clark smiled at Carol and asked softly. Robert was pulled away for a reason Clark guessed, but it was not something easy to discuss, even if Carol was Kara's sister.
"If possible, I would like to try..." Carol's eyes sparkled as she nodded to Clark, issuing a challenge.
"Not here though. Even though this is subspace, Joel is strengthening this place. It would be bad to disrupt the process!" Clark shook his head, smiling at
Carol, "Did you say earlier that you didn't come back in a spaceship? You flew back, so you can survive in space, right?"
"You can too?" Carol looked surprised, then smiled, "That's really good. The universe is indeed a fine battlefield. Even if the fight is fierce, the damage is powerful, as long as you find an open area, it's suitable for a great battle..."
With a buzz, as Carol's words fell, a layer of light surged over her body. She nodded to Clark and soared up, first out of subspace, then into the cosmos.
With a swoosh, Clark's speed was naturally not slow. Almost instantly, the two had rushed into outer space. Facing the quiet cosmos, neither felt out of place. Carol led the way, Clark followed, and in no time, they had flown out of the solar system.
This was Clark's first time flying out of the solar system. He had only fought near the Kuiper belt before. As they flew out of the solar system, Clark saw an even emptier universe, feeling barely the warmth of the sun behind him.
"Let's do it here, quick and decisive!" Clark's divine voice reached Carol's ears, causing her to pause briefly. Carol couldn't do this ability, but she didn't object. Her figure vanished from where she was, her fists shining with bright light, striking towards Clark.
"Boom!" There was no sound, but Clark's fists had already collided with Carol's. This collision sent Carol flying backward, her eyes filled with surprise.
Carol knew Clark was probably very strong, but she hadn't expected his strength to be this immense. As Carol continued to retreat, her face became serious, her body's light intensifying, as if she had turned into a bright star, her powerful light making it hard to look directly at her.
Twin Star Mode!
Yet, the light of the Twin Star Mode had no effect on Clark. He stared directly at the new form of Carol, noting the oppressive presence she now demonstrated, much stronger than before.
Previously, Carol should have been stronger than a top-level demon lord, but not as much as Rachel.
But now, Carol's presence was almost as oppressive as the newly appeared Rachel, although still far from the six-winged seraph form of Rachel, bolstered by the power of faith.
"Buzz!" The next moment, Carol's fists gathered terrifying energy light, blasting towards Clark's body.
"Zap!" Clark's eyes emitted heat vision, colliding with the energy light, immediately dispersing it.
"Swipe!" In the next instant, before Carol could react, Clark's figure disappeared from the spot. Carol's years of combat experience gave her a bad feeling, but before she could react, Clark had already appeared in front of her, throwing a punch.
Clark preferred close combat, certainly not because his ranged combat techniques were limited to heat vision.
"Boom!" Carol felt a heavy blow to her abdomen, her body sinking continuously downward, which would be endless in the universe if not for the infinite directions available.
Clark's punch injured Carol on the spot but did not penetrate her abdomen, partly because Carol's defense was indeed astonishing, and partly because Clark did not use his full strength.
Carol's Twin Star Mode was very powerful, at a Sub-Heavenly Father level, strong enough to be a leader anywhere. But Clark's strength was even greater, at a Heavenly Father level, already a big boss...
"Amazing!" Carol finally stabilized her body, her gaze at Clark filled with awe. She had thought her strength was comparable to Clark's, perhaps even slightly weaker.
But after just a few moves, Carol knew she was no match for Clark. This wasn't something that could be compensated for by fighting spirit or anything else; it was an absolute difference in strength!
This gap was so large that the time Clark and Carol fought was shorter than the time it took to fly here from the wilderness island...
"How can he be so strong? Could Robert's strength also be greater than I imagined?" Carol frowned, puzzled as she looked in Clark's direction.
"How about it, Carol, want to continue?" Clark looked at Carol, who was still pondering, and once again issued a divine voice.
Carol, though proud and high-spirited, was no fool. She couldn't beat Clark and since they were all family, they wouldn't truly fight to the death. So, she waved her hand, returning to her normal state, and made a gesture toward Earth.
Clark looked in another direction towards the solar system, then also flew towards Earth, estimating Robert and Carol's strength in his mind.
Clark thought that Robert had likely improved since their last battle with Valentin, but calculated that he could probably rely on the power of the Giant Ape Fury form to fight against Carol's normal state. However, once Carol activated her Twin Star Mode, Robert probably wouldn't stand a chance since this mode's combat boost seemed not much inferior to Robert's Giant Ape Fury
...
Soon, Carol and Clark returned to Earth. After entering Earth, Carol looked at Clark with a wry smile, "When I left Earth, I didn't find any strong fighters, but I didn't expect your strength to be so immense..."
"I wasn't this strong a decade ago..." Clark shook his head with a smile, softly saying, "Strength progresses slowly. If you had your current strength when you left, I definitely couldn't have been your opponent."
"It's also fortunate we're family and not real enemies. I wasn't tricked by that guy Nick Fury into dealing with you. Otherwise, either Earth would've been shattered, or I would've been killed by you on the spot..." Carol said with some emotion, "I've never encountered such a powerful opponent in the universe, yet I find one in my homeland, and it's my own family. What a fate!"
"By the way, when you travel through the universe alone by flying, how do you determine directions? I saw that beyond the solar system, there's a vast empty space with no landmarks. Don't you get lost?" Clark didn't continue discussing strength but instead curiously asked Carol.
Clark felt that surviving in the universe was one thing, but navigating through it was another. He had just glanced at the environment outside the solar system and thought that without several trips, even his super brain might not remember the way...
