After what seemed like an eternity of earth-shattering battles, the fierce fight between Kara and Robert finally ceased. The surroundings gradually calmed down, with only the faint sound of their breathing alternating in the quiet, no other noise disturbing the peace.
With a "swoosh!" a figure suddenly flew from the scene, vanishing instantly. It seemed to be Kara, dressed neatly, but upon closer inspection, her expression and posture seemed slightly off.
Beneath the surface, another Kara was visible, her cheeks still flushed with a rosy glow, looking disarmingly lovely as she gazed in another direction with a hint of a smile.
Soon, the Kara that had flown away returned, carrying a pile of clothes in her arms, which she handed to the blushing Kara underground. Her form gradually reverted back to that of Robert.
"How come you're so familiar with my body? Not only do you transform to look exactly like me, but you also brought clothes that fit perfectly. Did you figure it out just now... huh? Aren't these my clothes?" Kara, taking the clothes without any intention of shying away from Robert, dressed openly and teased him about his familiarity.
"Yes, I was going to buy some, but it was indeed a bit awkward, so I just flew back home and got your clothes..." Robert, scratching his head with some embarrassment, avoided explaining why he knew Kara's body so well. He couldn't very well admit that he knew every detail about her.
Robert realized that growing up had its advantages and disadvantages. The benefits were clear, especially after the consecutive battles that still left him savoring the memory. However, the downside was that his emotional sensitivity had increased, making it difficult to face many situations with the same ease as before.
For instance, dealing with Kara's intense gaze, transforming into Kara to buy her a new set of clothes, including intimate apparel, made Robert quite embarrassed.
Thus, midway through his flight, he turned back to the Kent farm to fetch Kara's clothes from her house.
"You went home to get my clothes, but why did you transform into me? Do you like my appearance that much?" Kara blinked, teasing Robert.
"I was worried someone might see..." Robert had to admit, flying back with Kara's clothes as himself or even as Vegeta would have been strange; it felt more natural to do it while transformed as Kara.
"Then why didn't you just take off the clothes and give them to me when you were transformed into me?" Kara moved closer to Robert with a mischievous glint in her eye, grabbing his arm and hugging it close as she asked with a laugh.
"Cough cough..." Robert coughed lightly, feeling the softness at his arm but didn't pull away. Instead, he explained softly, "The clothes created by the transformation technique are still linked to me, like the cursed garment piece from Clark that disappeared after dealing with the demon. Of course, I could make it disappear earlier, so technically, they aren't real clothes..."
"Disappear at any time? Isn't that better?" Kara's face turned a shade redder, her beautiful eyes watery as she tiptoed closer to Robert's ear, whispering with a laugh, her breath warm against his ear.
"..." A wave of warmth spread from Robert's ear throughout his body, leaving him trembling and momentarily at a loss for words.
"Alright, you're still not fully healed from your injuries, so I'll let you off this time. I'll wait for you to make a comeback..." Seeing Robert's reaction, Kara became even happier. After their grand battle, Kara seemed to have forgotten about Diana, or perhaps, she deliberately pushed those memories aside.
"Kara..." But while Kara could forget, Robert felt the need to clear things up, at least to be honest. So, he called out to her with a serious expression.
"What is it?" Kara sensed something from Robert's serious look and immediately realized what it might be about, releasing his arm and standing with hands on her hips, staring at him accusatorily, "Are you planning to hit it and quit it?!"
"I'm not, I didn't..." Seeing Kara's reaction, Robert sighed helplessly, then began to explain softly, "I wanted to have a serious talk with you, especially about Diana..."
"What do you mean 'especially about Diana'? Is she more important than me?" Kara interrupted, glaring at Robert.
"You are important, you are, but her matter is also significant. Let me clarify things with you first, then we can discuss what comes next, okay?" Robert took Kara's hand, looking into her eyes earnestly. Now, it was Kara's turn to avoid his gaze, much like Robert had done before the battle.
Seeing Kara's reaction, Robert reached out and gently adjusted her face to look into her eyes, not saying a word.
"I don't care; you're responsible for me, and you can't let me down!" Kara looked into Robert's eyes, muttered under her breath after a moment of silence, and slightly annoyed.
"..." Hearing Kara's words, Robert was touched, but after a pause, he took a deep breath and, whether or not Kara wanted to hear it, began to explain his past with Diana, "At that time, I wasn't aware of these feelings. When I was searching for the cow talisman, I met her, and I thought she was a spirited female warrior..."
As Robert spoke, Kara's expression became increasingly stern, and Robert felt a chill down his spine, but he didn't stop. His previous concealment with Clark's help and his lack of awareness had kept Kara in the dark. Now, Robert felt it was no longer possible to continue hiding the truth...
Listening to Robert, Kara's expression softened slightly. Although she had already confirmed some things based on Robert's previous awareness and reactions, she now felt even more certain that Diana, who had confidently left yesterday, hadn't won. Kara was the true victor!
"So, if I had acted like a female warrior when we first met, or later showed my fighting spirit, there wouldn't be a matter with her?" After hearing Robert's slow explanation, Kara's eyes flickered, although she had won, it wasn't a complete victory, so she looked at Robert regretfully and asked.
"Perhaps?" Robert couldn't be sure, because back then he really hadn't thought that way. The idea of defeating Diana and bringing her home as his wife was merely a natural affection for a female warrior. If he really had defeated Diana and brought her home, it would have been just that, not like the fight he had just had with Kara.
"Hisss!" As Robert finished speaking, he suddenly felt a pain in his arm, realizing that without the enhancement of energy, his body was still somewhat inferior to Kara's steel form.
"I'm not satisfied with that answer!" Kara glared at Robert's eyes, clearly unhappy.
"It probably would have..." Robert quickly corrected himself upon hearing her.
"Hmph! Barely acceptable!" Kara finally nodded in satisfaction, hugging Robert's arm again.
"Kara, after I told you..." Robert felt the softness again, his heart stirring slightly, but he quickly regained his composure, because he had only started talking about Diana and planned to discuss more with Kara.
"Don't mention her to me again, I've heard enough about her!" Kara's body stiffened slightly, then she looked into Robert's eyes defiant
ly, "Besides, you haven't defeated her, have you? What's the rush? Can you definitely beat her? Do you really want to beat her that badly?"
"I always need to clarify these things..." Robert looked at Kara awkwardly, then took a deep breath and spoke honestly, "Before, Diana certainly had a greater place in my heart, but after what happened, I understand how you feel. Now, you're naturally more important to me, but I still need to make things clear with her..."
"You promise it's just to clarify? It won't be like with me?" Kara squinted, a sense of danger emanating as she interrogated him.
"Honestly, I can't promise..." Robert admitted he might be a bit greedy; although the scales in his heart had tipped towards Kara, they hadn't completely overshadowed Diana. But Robert didn't want to deceive Kara any longer, especially as Kara was probably not feeling great, having pieced together some clues from the past.
"Bang!" Kara's punch landed on Robert's chest, but she pulled her strength at the last moment, remembering Robert's injuries and the energy he had expended in their recent fight. Even though she was angry, she merely pushed him back to express her dissatisfaction.
"Sorry, I really don't want to hide anything from you anymore..." Robert stumbled back a couple of steps, looking at the fuming Kara apologetically.
"Hmph! Just keep hiding things about her from me in the future!" After glaring at Robert, Kara took a deep breath, adjusted her emotions, and said, "You need to take responsibility for me, and everything you owe me, down to the last detail!"
At this moment, Kara kept telling herself she had taken the lead, far ahead of Diana, and had completely reversed her previous disadvantage. She should be happy, especially since Robert's attitude towards her had indeed changed. Kara had just begun to enjoy the sweetness of their relationship and didn't want to let go.
Especially since Robert was someone she had worked so hard to win over, how could Kara be willing to let go now?
As for Diana, Kara didn't believe that with her advantages of being first and being constantly around, she couldn't outdo her. Wasn't it just about being a female warrior? It seemed like anyone could become one!
She had previously thought Robert just loved to fight; Kara hadn't realized that this was Robert's criterion for choosing a mate, otherwise Diana wouldn't have had the chance to take advantage.
"Ah?" Hearing Kara's words, Robert was momentarily stunned, not immediately grasping the deeper meaning in Kara's words because her thoughts were somewhat too hard to predict...
"Let's go home! No, to Martha's place..." Not wanting to give Robert time to ponder, Kara once again took his arm and flew up with him.
"Oh... wait, are we forgetting something?" As Robert flew with Kara towards where Martha and the others were vacationing, he suddenly remembered something, stopping midair and instinctively looking in the direction of the collapsed magical academy.
There had been a lot happening this time: the battle with the half-angel, half-demon Valentine, leading to the appearance of the angel Racheal, the fight with the demon lord Valentine, the confrontation with Kara and Diana, the near-death of Claire and the others, and finally, his new breakthrough with Kara. These events flashed through Robert's mind, and then he focused on Clark, who had punched Racheal away...
"What are you looking at? The magical academy? Do you really have feelings for that woman?!" Clearly, because her heart was set on Robert, Kara had also forgotten about Clark's appearance and his absence now. She thought Robert was thinking of Claire, whom she had once seen as a threat.
Clark: How about some manners?
"Cough cough..." Robert looked at Kara somewhat helplessly and reminded her in a low voice, "Clark went to fight the angel somewhere, did you notice? There's no trace of their battle on Earth..."
Robert's ability to sense energy might not detect every person on the globe, but at least if Clark and Racheal were fighting on Earth, Robert would have no reason not to notice them, suggesting they had left the planet. But now, he had no idea how Clark was doing.
Even though Clark had always seemed invincible in front of Robert, Robert knew that Clark was not truly invincible. The two god-kings who fought Gabriel were probably stronger than Clark, not to mention Ganata, whom Clark had not even noticed before.
Thus, even though he knew Clark could probably defeat Racheal, the fact that Clark hadn't returned yet worried Robert, especially since a significant amount of time had passed since their own battle had ended. If Clark had won, he should have returned by now...
"Uh..." Hearing Robert's words, a flash of embarrassment crossed Kara's face. She had indeed forgotten her cousin, but what could she do? The successive threats from Diana and Claire had distracted her, especially Diana!
