"It's fine, don't worry about it. You haven't really done anything to us. The Saiyans won't do anything drastic to you; at most, they'll just beat you up. After all, the conversation with Valmont wasn't really your fault. We all know you're not the best actor..." In the basement of the Magic Academy, Constantine said to the somewhat serious-looking guardian with a smile.
As the anti-magic formation was lifted, speaking became an incredibly easy task for Constantine. However, even so, he had no intention of escaping. After all, the guardian didn't seem to have any intention of killing them. Why rush? It wasn't like they were waiting for Robert to return, right?
"You better shut your mouth, or I'll be forced to make a move! Constantine, I haven't settled my previous grievances with you yet!" Hearing Constantine's words, a flash of anger crossed the guardian's eyes as he spoke sternly.
"We've all got new grudges now. Why are you still hung up on old hatred? Can't you move with the times a bit? By the way, when is Clare going to wake up? I feel her power has awakened, and it seems stronger than most of you here!" Constantine said indifferently to the guardian, showing no realization of his status as a prisoner. In fact, he even started questioning the guardian.
In Constantine's perception, the power Clare had awakened seemed stronger than that of most Shadow Hunters, even just after awakening. As her abilities developed, Clare's strength would undoubtedly become even more formidable.
This made Constantine wonder if this was why the Angel's Blood led him to save Clare. Was she one of those rare individuals with a bloodline reversion?
"Hmph! Whether she wakes up or not will depend on who returns here!" The guardian snorted coldly, closed his eyes, and silently waited.
The guardian hoped that the one to return would be Valmont. Although Valmont had become a half-demon, half-angel, the guardian was more wary of Robert because he had no idea what kind of power Robert wielded.
From their brief encounter, the guardian could only sense that Robert's strength was immense, with formidable physical and psychic power, and he possessed a terrifying destructive energy, making the guardian feel as if he were facing death itself...
Valmont, too, wanted to ask what kind of power Robert was using. Why was he so powerful, leaving Valmont completely defenseless? After all, Valmont was a half-demon, half-angel. From where did such a monster like Robert come?
When Valmont realized the guardian's intention to lure him into the Magic Academy, the cautious Valmont sensed something was amiss. He ordered the demons and his minions to prepare to leave with Joslyn's body...
Regardless of the fact that his minions and demons had died, and their location might have been exposed, not to mention that the Magic Academy's teleportation gate had locked onto their location, making it unsafe, it was best to leave immediately.
However, Valmont hadn't anticipated that his response, already quick, was no match for Robert's. Upon hearing that the guardian's acting had been seen through again, Robert dashed through the teleportation gate, leaving Valmont and his minions preparing to transport Joslyn stunned in place.
Without Valmont's command, the demons under his control launched themselves at Robert, their ferocious mouths and claws seemingly treating Robert as prey...
"Puff!"
"Puff!"
"Puff!"
Robert glanced indifferently at the demons rushing towards him. With a flick of his finger, a wave of energy dispersed, hitting every life form around him with precision and grace, sparing only Valmont and Joslyn. Even the assassins preparing to transport Joslyn couldn't escape Robert's energy wave.
"Damn it!" Valmont was still stunned by Robert's sudden charge, and before he could react, Robert had already killed all of Valmont's minions, infuriating Valmont. His body began to morph, with a demon horn rising from the left side of his forehead and half an angel's wing sprouting from his right back. Such a combination even left Robert, who never wasted words in battle, astonished.
If Robert were someone with OCD, he would have been very uncomfortable.
Who ever heard of a half-angel, half-demon looking like this? Whether it was one half of the angel wings white and the other black, or a pair of angel wings with a set of demon horns on the forehead, any of these would have been more harmonious than Valmont's current appearance...
Of course, Robert could also sense that Valmont's aura was not only visually discordant but also internally. Valmont harbored both demon and angel powers within his body, but they seemed not to have fully merged.
This was why Valmont still sought the Holy Grail. In Valmont's view, his current mismatched appearance would be better off if he completely corrupted the angelic bloodline, merging it with demonic blood to become a Fallen Angel with demon blood.
Once successful, he planned to use the power of demon blood to summon more powerful hell demons and rule over Earth as the unique King of Demons.
But obviously, Valmont wasn't well-informed. He had no idea that two Demon Lords had already visited Earth!
One was the Shadow Demon Lord, who became a Demon Lord by devouring fellow demons and was ultimately defeated by Robert, dying at Batman's hand. The other was a true top-tier Demon Lord from Hell, ultimately defeated by Robert, dying at Superman Clark's hand...
Well, counting this way, Robert had defeated two Demon Lords but hadn't claimed a single life himself, which seemed a bit of a loss!
"Whoosh!" As Robert watched Valmont, who looked somewhat deformed and was speechless, Valmont suddenly made his move, launching a familiar hell energy beam at Robert.
Seeing Valmont's sneak attack, Robert didn't indulge him. A wave of energy burst forth, and Robert now knew Valmont's strength wasn't even worth using the Giant Ape Power·Rage transformation, let alone transforming into a Giant Ape.
"Boom!" Robert's energy wave blasted Valmont's dark beam, and after glancing at the unconscious Joslyn, he decided to slightly shift the battlefield. Otherwise, if Robert got carried away in battle, the aftershocks might accidentally kill Joslyn, which would be difficult to explain.
In the next moment, Robert disappeared from his spot, reappearing in front of Valmont. Valmont's pupils contracted slightly. He flapped his wings, trying to blow Robert away while distancing himself because he felt pressured by the power erupting from Robert.
"Boom!" Unfortunately for Valmont, Robert's punch landed on his wings, sending him flying. What followed was a brutal series of attacks. Valmont thought of resisting, but his attacks were not strong enough to repel Robert, let alone break through his defenses.
As the battle continued, Valmont couldn't understand where such a monster like Robert came from. Clearly not belonging to either the angel or demon factions, why was he here to oppose Valmont, with such speed and strength, leaving Valmont utterly powerless...
The state Valmont was in during the battle was pitiful. His wings had been torn off by Robert, with angelic blood seeping from the wounds. The demon horn on his head was also broken
by Robert, with demonic blood darkening half of Valmont's face.
This made Valmont feel the approach of death, his heart filled with fear. He could only rely on the tenacity of life granted by the angel and demon blood within him, but Valmont knew this endurance wouldn't last long...
"Quite weak indeed. It's not even necessary for me to use the Giant Ape Power·Rage transformation, let alone revert from my transformed state..." Robert thought to himself as he continued to beat Valmont, not taking the fight seriously and not even reverting from his Vegeta appearance while pummeling Valmont.
Robert didn't intend to kill Valmont directly. He wanted to wait and see if a more formidable boss would emerge. It couldn't be that a Demon Lord-level weakling was his ultimate goal for coming here, right? That would mean this trip was for nothing.
Indeed, Valmont's strength might not even surpass that of a shape-shifting demon. Given Constantine some preparation time and a successful ambush, even Constantine could take down Valmont...
"Is there really no one else? Or is it because I haven't made a killing move?" Robert waited a bit longer, hoping to catch a bigger fish, but after a long wait with no response, he began to wonder.
Could it be that this affair was over just like that? The small boss defeated with no next boss in sight? Did he only have to return and see if there was a new reaction from the Angel's Blood?
As these thoughts passed through Robert's mind, he eventually shook his head in resignation, his gaze turning to Valmont with a flicker of killing intent. Tired of waiting, an aura enveloped Valmont, binding him. Then, an energy ball began to form in Robert's hand.
"No!" Realizing he couldn't move, Valmont let out a cry of terror. As the energy ball in front of him brightened, he saw death approaching—not the death that leads to Hell, but absolute annihilation.
In that moment, Valmont felt that both his body and soul would cease to exist.
"Whoosh!" The next moment, the energy ball blasted forward. Once Robert decided to kill Valmont, he didn't hold back. But just then, a divine light surged from Valmont, awakening the angelic power within him when faced with a life-or-death crisis.
In an instant, the divine light transformed into a spatial force, whisking Valmont away from the scene, vanishing without a trace.
The energy ball hit empty space, continuing towards the ground. However, as Robert regained his senses, he directed the energy ball skyward, where it slowly dissipated under his control.
"Looks like there's a mastermind behind all this. It didn't disappoint me!" However, not killing Valmont didn't anger Robert; instead, he became excited because the fish had finally taken the bait.
Though Valmont had disappeared, Robert had plenty of ways to find him, and he didn't even need to rely on the Clark-brand global positioning system. A simple tracking spell to locate Valmont's whereabouts would suffice.
Of course, Robert wouldn't rush to track him down right away. He felt that this incident was still closely linked to the Angel's Blood in Constantine's hands, and with Clare's mother Joslyn here, Robert couldn't just leave this woman behind.
With a hum, Robert glanced at the unconscious Joslyn. With a thought, her body floated up. After looking around to confirm his direction, he headed towards the Magic Academy.
Although the Magic Academy's teleportation gate was available, it was clear that the guardian wouldn't help Robert activate it from within the academy. And without the academy's opening spell, Robert wasn't the least bit worried.
Who says you can't enter a house without a door? Breaking through a wall works just as well, especially since the academy's defenses weren't as strong as the Hyperbolic Time Chamber's...
Soon, Robert arrived outside the Magic Academy with Joslyn floating in mid-air. When he had come here previously with Jess, he could sense something was off, and now even more so.
Under Robert's psychic power, the Magic Academy was right before him, but a magical barrier of some sort was concealing its existence. This power was somewhat similar to Wakanda's energy dome, with one being magical and the other technological.
With a hum, a powerful aura gathered in Robert's hand, mixing with his psychic power and striking the magical barrier outside the Magic Academy.
"Boom!" A terrifying explosion echoed around, shaking the entire Magic Academy. A large hole was blasted in the magical barrier, and Robert, with Joslyn in tow, entered the academy.
"This is disappointing." However, upon entering the Magic Academy, Robert raised an eyebrow. Seeing the Shadow Hunters ready to strike and sensing Constantine imprisoned below, Robert disdainfully commented.
