Several moments later, a drunken man emerged from a bar. Fumbling for his car keys, he pressed the button but heard no response. Looking up, he was shocked to find his truck hanging in a wrecked state on a telephone pole. The sight instantly sobered him up...
"What in the world?!" This scene was beyond the drunkard's comprehension. Even though he had sobered up, he felt like he was dreaming.
As for Clark and Lana, the drunkard hadn't even thought of them. After sobering up, he barely remembered his previous actions. He now stood dumbfounded, staring at the sky... well, actually at the truck, completely baffled.
On the other hand, Clark and Lana had already left the area. Lana couldn't help but find humor in Clark's actions. Seeing this side of him made him seem more real to her.
Lana certainly admired Clark's heroic side, but she also longed to see his human side. Otherwise, despite his superpowers, she felt Clark was too distant from her...
"I'm human too, not a real god. I have emotions, and sometimes, I need to let them out, or I fear what might happen..." Clark noticed Lana's gaze and explained softly with a chuckle.
"Yeah, everyone used to call you Superman, the God among men, but they never knew about this side of you!" Lana said with a smile, cuddling Clark's arm closer.
Clark, feeling her softness, instinctively thought about withdrawing his arm but then remembered their current relationship and decided to just enjoy... well, endure the softness, and asked softly, "I'm just a man, not a real deity. By the way, which side of me do you prefer?"
"I like every side of you!" Lana replied, her body floating gently as she moved to kiss Clark.
The advantage of flying was that one didn't have to worry about height differences or tiptoeing...
Several days later, Clark and Lana's confirmed relationship became known to the Kents, who were overjoyed, especially Martha. She finally felt at ease, believing both children had found good partners.
Once Clark and Lana got married, Martha thought about buying a new farm nearby, and another when Robert got married, turning the vicinity into their family territory. In case of danger, they planned to move to a desolate island, which they had already planned out...
Martha's thoughts were far-reaching, already imagining the birth of Clark and Robert's children and even what would happen after her and Jonathan's time. She was brought back to reality by an embarrassed Lana.
Lana had visited Clark's home many times before, always openly, but now, with her changed status, she felt a bit shy.
"We're all family here, no need to be shy, Lana. I've always seen you as Clark's girlfriend, and now that you're officially together, I'm so happy. I hope you two can develop your relationship quickly..." Martha said, holding Lana's hand.
Martha was practically hinting at them to get married and have children soon.
However, Lana and Clark hadn't fully adjusted to each other yet, as Clark was always worried about accidentally hurting Lana due to his strength. This required Lana's patient guidance for them to gradually adapt...
"I'll try my best!" Lana said, blushing at the thought and glancing at Clark, who also avoided her gaze, embarrassed to speak about such matters. They needed to slowly figure things out together, given Clark's inexperience and psychological barriers.
"Alright, Clark, spend some quality time with Lana. No need to come back here for now, and try to fly around less..." Martha said contentedly.
"Don't worry, Martha. I'm not just a normal person anymore. Not only Clark helps others, but I can too, though I'm not as strong as him..." Lana said somewhat shyly.
Martha, who thought Lana was still the same, didn't realize that she had become a 'Super Girl'.
"Is that so? You've both become superheroes. But even as superheroes, you must be careful and aware of dangers," Martha said, surprised.
Except for the older generation and Alex fighting in the D.E.O., everyone in the room was a superhuman, which was a good thing as they shared common experiences.
However, it's worth mentioning that Alex's D.E.O. was undergoing hard times. After the Martian Manhunter's demise, there wasn't anyone competent enough to lead.
Alex tried her best, but in the face of real power, effort wasn't always enough, especially during superhuman events.
The D.E.O. wasn't just lagging; it was failing as a whole. Alex thought about bringing Kara or Robert to bolster the department, but they were too young and their identities too sensitive. Alex didn't want the government focusing on her sister and Robert...
Thus, Alex continued to work hard until the D.E.O. was eventually incorporated into a small department within the 'Watchtower Council', maintaining its dignity. Alex was promoted to the department head, keeping the D.E.O.'s honor intact.
However, the D.E.O.'s records and potentially superhuman items were taken by the Watchtower for research, leaving the department with little to do and seemingly turning it into a retirement sector...
This frustrated Alex, who had little say in the matter, unaware that many coveted a peaceful position in such a laid-back department.
After struggling for a while, Alex's life became quieter, while Robert hadn't yet received Batman's invitation. He wasn't wandering around but training near home.
"Hmm? What's this?" One day, while Robert and Kara were having an outdoor meal, Robert suddenly sensed a strange, somewhat familiar energy.
"What's wrong?" Kara asked, clueless. Kryptonians had strong hearing and abilities, but when it came to peculiar superhuman forces, they were a bit slow, which was probably referred to as low magic resistance.
Saiyans weren't much better in this regard, but after coming to this world, Robert had specifically developed his energy to become more versatile.
"It feels like... a demon? The aura of hell?" Robert hesitated, looking in a certain direction where a trace of energy was subtly leaking. At the source, he sensed a presence slightly different from the hell of the Lord, similar to the one he encountered before.
"A demon?" Kara's eyes lit up with curiosity. As a Kryptonian girl, she wasn't afraid of demons; rather, she was intrigued, having never seen what a demon looked like.
"Let's check it out!" Robert quickly finished his meal and quietly headed toward the source of the energy with Kara.
"Ah! I see it... uh!" They hadn't walked far when Kara, with her superior vision, spotted something in the darkness. She started to speak but was abruptly silenced by Robert, who covered her mouth. Kara didn't resist; instead, her cheeks turned red, and she calmed down.
"It is a demon!" Robert also saw the source of the energy, murmuring to himself. "But this demon seems different. The previous one appeared as a soul before solidifying. This one seems like a mere aura, not even in soul form? What's it doing? Trying to possess something?"
Under their watch, the aura merged with a large, fanged wild boar. Robert and Kara were dining here because of the abundant food supply. It seemed this demon appeared here for a host.
"Crack! Crack!"
Soon, the chilling sound of bones morphing filled the darkness. The boar's body started to deform, transforming from a complete pig into a half-beast form, resembling an animal warrior but with demonic energy, blood-drenched horns, and claws confirming its identity.
"Roar!" After transforming, the demon let out a terrifying roar. The wild boars nearby scattered in panic.
"But then..."
"Thud! Thud!"
In an instant, demonic energy spread from the demon, turning dozens of boars into bones on the ground. This was unacceptable to Robert; these were his reserve food supplies!
Robert, displeased, flashed in front of the demon and punched it right in the face.
"Bang!" The demon was sent flying, its large fang broken and falling to the ground. Its face showed confusion.
"You dare steal my food?" Robert glared at the demon on the ground.
The demon was baffled, not understanding why Robert, after attacking it, was accusing it of theft. Was this the Earth's way of manners?
"Huff! Huff!"
The remaining boars stopped, possibly thanking Robert in their limited intelligence, unaware he had consumed more of their kind than they had ever seen.
"Roar!" The demon quickly recovered, sensing no fatal threat from Robert's punch. It didn't consider Robert a match, or else he wouldn't have sneak-attacked it!
With a roar, demonic energy spread from its body, withering nearby plants. This demon seemed stronger than the previous Fire Demon Robert had encountered... well, the one with the flame ability, not the Lord.
Robert didn't show courtesy either. His energy flared, protecting him as he charged at the demon...
