"Just as well it was burned; otherwise, it would have been too weird for this strange stuff to spray onto Robert!" Although Kara was physically in the classroom, her thoughts had long since drifted to Robert's side. She breathed a sigh of relief after seeing Robert incinerate the spider silk and then decided to keep her distance from Peter Parker.
"Kara, why are you alone today? Where's your boyfriend?" Lorna asked curiously upon seeing Kara sitting by herself today.
"He's busy and will come later…" Kara glanced at her challenger, Lorna, and replied indifferently.
Kara didn't particularly dislike Lorna, her challenger, but she didn't have much affection for her either.
Lorna was indeed outstanding, both in physical fitness and academics. She would have been the star of any other class, but unfortunately, Kara was in this class.
"So, what's so special about Robert that attracted you to choose him as your boyfriend?" Lorna looked around and whispered.
"Affection doesn't need reasons," Kara didn't intend to share the unique aspects of Robert that intrigued her. After all, her curiosity had gradually drawn her closer to Robert, and she wasn't about to attract other girls' curiosity by discussing his unique traits.
"Pfft! What's the big deal…" Lorna, a bit disgruntled by Kara's lack of response, muttered, "Just wait! I'll definitely beat you in the exams coming up in a few days!"
"Sure, I'll wait." Kara nodded, unbothered by Lorna's challenge. She had taken the time to study and didn't believe anyone could outperform her, especially when she was serious.
"Whoa! Whoa!" On the other side, Peter Parker let out two exclamations, one for actually shooting out spider silk and another for Robert's display of flames, which was much cooler than the spider silk!
"How did you do that?" Peter, putting aside his web-shooting ability, looked at Robert in amazement and asked, "Is this your power? It's so cool!"
"Rather than envying others' abilities, you should thoroughly understand your own. Your strength, speed, and reflexes are far beyond those of an ordinary person. Think about how to master these abilities and quickly cover up the differences from ordinary people," Robert advised seriously, shaking his head at Peter.
"Otherwise, not only will attending school normally be difficult, but living a normal life will be too. You wouldn't want everyone to know you gained superpowers from a spider bite, would you?"
"Of course, if you want to show off your abilities later, that's not impossible. But I advise you to hide your identity first, like wearing a mask or a uniform."
"Since your powers come from a spider bite, how about calling yourself Spider-Man from now on?"
"Spider-Man. Sounds pretty good!" Peter's eyes lit up as he eagerly asked Robert, "What about you? What's your code name? And what's Kara's?"
"We don't have code names; we don't need them," Robert shrugged and said softly, "We have good control over our powers and don't need to hide our identities with masks or uniforms..."
"I thought you all had code names, like some organization," Peter muttered disappointedly, then asked Robert, "How do you control your powers? Can you teach me?"
"Practice, continuous practice," Robert said seriously to Peter. "There's no shortcut. To master your powers, you have to put in the effort yourself. I can teach you, but I can't help you. Do you understand?"
"I understand! What should I do now?" Peter asked eagerly, looking at Robert.
"Set aside your strength and web-shooting control for now, but you need to train your sense of danger. Being jumpy is too conspicuous…" Robert suggested after some thought.
"We'll train you the same way we initially stimulated you. Your sense of danger is useful, but only if you can fully master it. Now, you need to get familiar with it, control your body to respond correctly, instead of jumping around chaotically…"
"Then, please guide me, Robert," Peter said earnestly, showing gratitude.
Soon, Robert began to release his qi again, stimulating Peter's spider-sense to constantly alert him of incoming danger.
Instinctively, Peter's body started running around uncontrollably again, but with Robert's guidance, he was trying to control his powers, getting familiar, accepting, and mastering them...
In just one day, under Robert's continuous stimulation, Peter made significant progress. His spider-sense remained, but he no longer reacted chaotically to stimulation, a considerable improvement.
"It's still early, and Kara has arrived. You can join us in practice. Of course, your strength is much less, so you can lighten the weight and reduce training time," Robert said, sensing Kara's approaching qi and speaking softly to the exhausted Peter sitting on the ground.
"Hisss!" Soon after Robert's words, Peter sensed Kara's arrival, as the sense of danger emerged again.
However, Peter, now somewhat familiar with his spider-sense, didn't jump up again. He endured the discomfort and nodded.
"Hmph!" Kara appeared next to Robert, huffing in discontent and covertly glaring at Peter, as if warning him not to disturb her alone time with Robert.
Seeing Kara's look, Peter nearly jumped again, barely controlling himself and looking at Robert tentatively, "Um, Robert, maybe I should go back and not disturb you two."
As Peter spoke, the sense of danger dissipated significantly but then surged again.
Because Robert waved his hand dismissively, "There's no such thing as disturbance. Since we're all practicing, just follow along and learn."
