"Is that so, Lorna?" Selena hesitated before turning her head to look at Lorna and asking softly.
"Yeah, he's indeed older than me," Lorna nodded, her voice calm.
"Oh, sorry! It was a misunderstanding on my part, my apologies, Pietro," Selena quickly apologized to Pietro in a low voice.
"It's okay, as long as everyone remembers I'm the older brother!" Pietro waved his hand generously, feeling that after this misunderstanding, his status as the older brother in the school should be firmly established.
"Peter Parker? Sounds familiar... where have I heard that before?" Robert mumbled to himself with some hesitation, "Hydra? Valon? The military? Or was it on the quest for spells? Hmm, that doesn't seem right. This guy's aura is just that of an ordinary person, even weaker. I must be mistaken..." Robert felt he had heard the name Peter Parker before, but couldn't quite recall where, and eventually shook his head in resignation and went back to meditating.
Life at school remained unchanged despite the arrival of the three new students. At least, they didn't affect Robert much. However, Kara's status as the top girl in class was challenged by none other than the new transfer student, Lorna.
In front of the teachers, Lorna appeared indifferent, but as soon as class was over, she stood up and directly asked who was in charge.
Subsequently, when the students' gazes turned to Kara, Lorna didn't hesitate to challenge her.
"Heh, just you?" Kara's voice carried a hint of disdain. She could tell at a glance that although Lorna had a good physical condition among ordinary people, she was far from being a match for her.
Soon, Lorna followed Kara out of the classroom. Robert didn't pay much attention, as he also didn't sense a strong aura from Lorna.
As expected, Lorna returned to the classroom behind Kara, visibly dejected after losing the challenge.
But Lorna was clearly not convinced, challenging Kara again: "Being a bit stronger doesn't mean anything! Let's see who can score higher on the next test!"
"Heh, you wish," Kara said, still with a hint of disdain.
Indeed, Kara's grades weren't great, but that was because she hadn't been focusing on studying or using her abilities. With her super brain, studying wasn't a challenge for her.
Now, with someone challenging her status, Kara was ready to prove herself superior in every aspect.
Thus, the three transfer students gradually integrated into the class, with Pietro and Lorna fitting in more quickly and becoming part of the group. Peter Parker, however, remained somewhat aloof, with only Barry Allen managing to strike up conversations with him.
Robert learned from Kara that unlike Pietro and Lorna, Peter Parker's transfer wasn't voluntary. As for how Kara knew, it was because of Robert's mutterings upon seeing Peter Parker that made her take an interest in him.
It turned out that Peter Parker lived with his aunt and uncle, and his uncle Ben had recently lost his job, plunging the family into financial crisis. Despite Ben's efforts to find work, his age made it difficult to secure employment, especially in New York...
So, Ben expanded his job search and eventually got an offer from a company in Central City. After some discussion, the Parkers decided it was best to accept the job, despite Peter's objections.
They reasoned that supporting the family was paramount, regardless of where they lived. They told Peter he could decide to return to New York when he was older and had the means to do so.
Upon hearing the rumor that he was Kara's boyfriend, Peter Parker expressed disbelief, confused as to why the class's top girl would be interested in a boy who seemed not fully grown.
Admitting Robert looked decent, Lorna still found Kara's behavior akin to an older woman chasing a younger man, especially since Robert seemed odd, barely interacting with others and not paying attention in class.
"What? When did rumors spread like this?" Robert muttered in resignation upon hearing Lorna's exclamation, but soon returned to his meditation, indifferent to the gossip.
Unbeknownst to Robert, the rumor wasn't spread by outsiders but originated from the Demitri quintet.
Despite their initial hope for Kara and Robert to separate, over time, the quintet grew accustomed to their closeness and even hoped the pair would continue together, preferring not to see Kara heartbroken.
Given Kara's "super strength" persona, they reasoned that someone like Robert, who seemed odd but was actually capable of handling himself, might be the best match for her.
