"The History of Black Bloods, this is a book that can only be found in Library of Whispers. Dear monsters of S.U.M.S, pay great attention as we dive into the history of our ancestors in today's history class" Mrs Tabitha Stewart, S.U.M.S history teacher said to the students as the flipped the pages of an old heavy book. The whole class fell silent and Cassie leaned forward with great interest in what Mrs Tabitha was about to say.
"Long ago at the dawn of creation, every being was grouped into three; the black bloods, the white bloods and the red bloods who were all grouped based on their abilities. Black bloods distinguished by their ability to morph into any creature of their specific clan. The white bloods known for their ability to harness the magical energies of the earth and then the red bloods known for their high intelligence and ability to adapt and evolve. And of course by our side we had the loyal mythical creatures that did our bidding like the shape-shifters and guardians of the enchanted realm. Despite our clear and many differences, we all lived in harmony by focusing on our areas of similarities and ignoring our areas of differences. I mean we all speak the same language and it's hard to distinguish ourselves if all of us are gathered. One day
the Kings of each group agreed to form a sacred alliance by drawing their bloods to make the most powerful object ever known, the blood stone. It is said that who ever that is in possession of the stone has the power to rule over the earth. The black bloods and white bloods realized the immense power of the blood stone and kept it locked away in a secret chamber. This they did without the knowledge of the red bloods..."
"Woah, why?" Bella cut in.
"Shhhh, just listen" Cassie said to her and told Mrs Tabitha to carry on.
"Thanks Cassie. Now, there was a black blood who sought for the power of the blood stone but he knew that even if he knew the location of the blood stone, he would need to cause a great distraction to get it. He thought of every possible way then a thought hit him; what greater possible way to distract everyone than a war?.
Late at night, at an unholy hour did he sneak to the tent of the king of the red bloods and told him about the power the blood stone holds. The king of the red bloods became overwhelmed with desire for the blood stone and struck the black blood dead as he saw him as an obstacle to getting what he wants. He came up with a way to get it but first he needed to be know about the location of the secret chamber which the black blood refused to tell him. The next day, he approached the Head of the guardian spirit and said to him;
"To you will I give my only young daughter who has known no man if you reveal to me the location of the secret chamber housing the blood stone".
The head of the guardian spirit refused the proposal but that didn't discourage the king of the red bloods. He went to the assistant and offered the same proposal which he foolishly accepted.
On the day of the arranged marriage while everyone was out celebrating, the king of the red bloods sent one of his guards to steal the blood stone and bring it to him. The guard did as he was told, slaying everyone that tried to stop him. He arrived at the chamber and took the blood stone looking at it with interest. As he looked at it, the power of the blood stone overcame him,the blood stone became in charge of his actions. He went back to the celebration, the king of the red bloods saw him approaching and ran to meet him, demanding for the blood stone. The guard drew his sword and challenged the king. The king who couldn't understand what was happening moved closer and in an instant, the guard killed the king in a swing of the sword. The whole crowd scattered, everyone running away. Those who tried to subdue him all met their end. All the white bloods ran to a temple, it was there that the book of the dread was written. All the white bloods held hands and spent all night casting a powerful enchantment; the veil of forgetfulness. This spell was carried out to erase the knowledge of the once known harmony among the beings of the earth. The red bloods now live in their own land with no idea of their history, the white bloods were hunted down and killed for they possessed powers beyond measure that could be really dangerous and the black bloods live here together, freely with none of us knowing about our history for a very long time. The end. Any questions?".
"What about the the King's daughter? I'd be really mad and sad if such thing happened to me on my wedding day".
"I wish I could answer that Bella but what happened to her after the wedding wasn't recorded" Mrs Tabitha replied.
"What about the guard that was possessed by the blood stone? Where is he now?" Linda asked.
"The ancient scrolls say that he lies helplessly at an ancient cave not being able to sleep, eat nor die. His burden can only be lifted if someone takes the stone away from him".
"That's really terrible. The blood stone is really evil" Linda said.
"It indeed is. Any other questions?".
"Is it me or the entire white bloods were treated unfairly. You can't just kill them for being who they are. Being able to harness the Earth's magic isn't dangerous, it's the heart and intention of the person that is" Cassie said.
"You are right Cassie and the hunting and killing of white bloods has stopped. Even though I hear that the old lady that was in the detention center was the last of her kind. Do we still have questions to ask?" Mrs Tabitha asked standing up. Everyone shook their head.
"Well that's all for today. During our next class, we'll talk about the History of S.U.M.S. She said and walked out of the class.
See you in the next chapter
