...Christopher pov...
It was quite a trip to get the clothes and food, first of all and first of all going through the halls looking for women to ask for clothes from was.... counterproductive.
Women would run, faint or simply hide when they saw me. This situation remained this way until I met an older woman, who stopped me of her own accord and we arranged where things were to be taken.
"Thank you very much!"
"Easy, young man, you looked desperate and were making work in the house more difficult than usual with your actions."
Despite his surprise due to my thanks, he doesn't mince his words and continues to speak completely matter-of-factly despite the situation.
"In that case I apologize for the inconvenience, now could you please tell me what time the food and clothes would be?"
If he kept his naturalness by force before, now his whole face turned pale and his hands were trembling. Oh, sure, the devil eats little girls.
"Human food and female clothing. It's for the priestess."
Explaining what I need in a clear and strong voice, as otherwise she seems to stand there static, the older woman turns her face to the right, before speaking.
"The lady to my right will accompany you along with the change of clothes this instant. If the young lady you brought is injured, she will help you dress. On the subject of food, I can assure you that it will arrive the moment I finish dressing that lady."
"Perfect. Do you need time to pick up the clothes?"
Ignoring her pale face as if she had been sentenced to death, he asked her if she needed time to go get the change of clothes.
Before the young woman can answer me, another young woman on the left passes her a basket full of clean clothes.
"N, n, No."
"I say goodbye and thank you for your help. Let's go."
Giving her a gentle nod towards the older lady, I speak to the one carrying the clothes, so she follows me in the direction of my room.
After walking for 5 minutes, we reach the corridor leading to my section. The door that connects the main house with the corridor where I reside is open, and a light escapes from inside, this confirms that the door to my residence is also open.
Wanting to know what has happened to make it open, I slightly increased my speed of movement, causing the timbers to make a soft noise where I passed.
"Akemi what has happened here. Mmm... She's not here?"
The room is in complete silence, while a depressive aura hovers in the air continuously.
Glancing to the sides to see if Akemi had hidden herself, confirmed her absence and as a last measure focused my gaze on Kikyo, whose eyes are lost as she sits on the futon.
"I brought you a change of clothes."
"I don't need it."
Her voice oozes hatred and contempt, but not at me, but at herself or what she represents, making it apparent that there is a complex story behind her situation.
"Tell me that when you don't dress in just rags. Go in and dress her."
Refusing to accept her answer, I give her a few words to remind her of the condition of her clothes and at her piercing look, called the girl who stayed outside, so she dresses her, meanwhile I leave the room.
...10 minutes later…
*zaz*
With the sound of the sliding door, the clothes girl exits the room and in her basket now lies the damaged miko outfit.
"Did it make the situation difficult for you?"
It was a random question, but one that might show me a hint of the mood Kikyo is in. She shakes her head, before smiling and saying a few words under her breath.
"It was difficult at first, as she wouldn't respond to any words, but after explaining that I'd get in trouble if I didn't, she let me dress her in peace."
"Thank you for your trouble. Oh, the food has arrived then you may retire."
Thanking the girl with the clothes and ignoring her surprise, I heard footsteps from the hallway, causing me to turn my head to see and the person I see is the young lady on the left bringing the food.
Knowing from her staggering steps and the movement of her eyes that she can't take it anymore, I reach over to grab the dishes, then dismiss them both, before moving into the room.
"Could you move? Well, that makes things easier."
Inside the room everything was still the same as when I left, except for Kikyo, who was sitting on the side of the table.
Another change was the candles lit for light, plus the lack of Akemi to liven things up.
"Small movements, yes, but who brought me here was the girl who just left."
His voice no longer showed traces of resentment or hatred on the surface, only a monotone, even sarcastic towards her, one could say. Walking slowly to the table, she set down a few plates from her side and he from mine respectively, then sitting down across from her.
"I don't need to eat."
"Me neither... But I want to."
The first words placed us in a stare-off, my blue eyes against her brown ones, this went on for a few moments, I even seemed to sense Saya nearby.
At some point my desire for food got the better of me, making me no longer care about her murderous eyes, so I calmly grabbed the cutlery and started eating.
Something complex gleams in her deep brown eyes, but it's time to eat and I'm a hungry man, so it'll be for next time.
