Chapter 80 - The Dark Mentor

Elian's father and mother, accompanied by a few trusted advisors, sat across the table from representatives of the construction company in the cozy confines of their study. The air was filled with anticipation as negotiations began for the monumental task of transforming Eristia into a kingdom.

"We understand the scope of the project," Elian's father began, his tone measured yet firm. "But we must ensure that the cost aligns with our budget. We have 100,000 coins allocated for this endeavor."

The representatives exchanged a glance, their expressions contemplative as they considered the proposal. After a moment, one of them spoke up, "We appreciate your budgetary constraints, Lord Aetheris. However, the scale of this project is significant, requiring skilled labor, materials, and time."

Elian's mother nodded in understanding, her gaze steady as she replied, "Of course, we understand the value of quality workmanship. But we also need to ensure that our resources are allocated wisely."

After a brief pause, the representatives conferred quietly amongst themselves before turning back to Elian's parents. "We propose a compromise," one of them suggested. "We can adjust the timeline slightly and streamline certain aspects of the project to stay within your budget of 100,000 coins."

Elian's father and mother exchanged a knowing look, silently acknowledging the offer. After a moment of consideration, Elian's father spoke, "That sounds reasonable. We appreciate your flexibility and willingness to work within our budget. Let us proceed with this arrangement."

With a firm handshake, the negotiations concluded, sealing the agreement between the Aetheris family and the construction company. As the representatives took their leave, Elian's parents breathed a sigh of relief, knowing that they had taken another step forward in realizing their vision for Eristia.

Meanwhile, Elian sat at his desk in the study, a map of Eristia spread out before him. With a quill in hand and a determined expression on his face, he began sketching the basic outline of the kingdom's infrastructure.

First, he marked the location of the castle, envisioning it as the heart of Eristia's governance and protection. With its sturdy walls and imposing towers, the castle would serve as a symbol of strength and authority, overlooking the bustling village below.

Next, Elian plotted the position of the barracks, strategically placing them near the outskirts of the village to ensure quick mobilization in times of need. The barracks would house the kingdom's defenders, providing training grounds and armories to equip them for their duties.

As he worked, Elian also designated areas for essential facilities such as marketplaces, granaries, and residential quarters. Each section was carefully planned to promote efficiency and convenience for the villagers, fostering a sense of community and cooperation.

With each stroke of the quill, Elian's vision for Eristia began to take shape on the parchment. He imagined the kingdom thriving under his leadership, with every aspect of its layout designed to promote prosperity and well-being for its inhabitants.

Once the basic outline was complete, Elian stepped back to admire his handiwork. The map depicted a vibrant and kingdom. Elian grinned he was going to be a ruler at 14, he had never imagined it. But at the back of his mind something bothered him, his demonic version had been a bit dormant, not like he wanted it to be talking to him,but he felt a sense of emptiness.

"Why should I care, he's stopped disturbing me, I may as well celebrate" said Elian.

A few weeks later, the plans for transforming Eristia into a kingdom took shape, changes began to ripple through the landscape. Construction crews descended upon the village, their hammers ringing out as they demolished old structures to make way for new buildings.

The sound of splintering wood and crumbling stone echoed through the streets as dilapidated homes and unused structures were torn down. Elian watched with a mix of anticipation and nostalgia, knowing that progress often required sacrifice.

In addition to clearing space within the village, teams of workers ventured into the surrounding forests, wielding axes and saws to partially clear the land for expansion. Trees fell to the ground with solemn thuds, creating openings amidst the dense foliage.

The once untouched wilderness gave way to the beginnings of civilization, as clearing the forests made room for essential infrastructure such as farms, mills, and additional housing. While the sight of trees being felled tugged at Elian's heartstrings, he understood that the growth of Eristia required space and resources.

Despite the changes to the landscape, Elian remained committed to preserving the natural beauty of Eristia. For every tree that was felled, plans were made to plant new saplings and replenish the forests, ensuring that the kingdom remained in harmony with its surroundings.

As the construction progressed and the village transformed, Elian kept a watchful eye on the changes, knowing that each building demolished and each tree cleared brought Eristia one step closer to realizing its destiny as a thriving kingdom.

In the quiet solitude of Seline's cottage, Elian slept soundly, his mind drifting in the realm of dreams. Yet, as the night wore on, a stirring sensation pulled him from his slumber. A faint unease tingled at the edges of his consciousness, coaxing him back to wakefulness.

With a start, Elian's eyes snapped open, his heart racing with a sudden surge of adrenaline. A strange sensation coursed through his veins, a sensation foreign and unsettling. It felt as though something stirred within him, a primal force yearning for release.

Gasping for breath, Elian sat up in bed, his chest heaving as he grappled with the inexplicable sensation. It was then that he felt it—a subtle shift in his very being, as if something dormant within him had been roused from its slumber.

Fear and confusion gripped Elian's heart as he realized the truth. His demonic form, a dormant presence within him since birth, had awoken, its malevolent essence seeping into his very core. With a sinking feeling, Elian realized that his own being had become a battleground, a clash between his humanity and the dark forces lurking within.

In a panic, Elian focused his mind, desperately trying to regain control over his body. But the demonic influence resisted his efforts, its insidious tendrils entwining themselves around his consciousness, threatening to overwhelm him.

In a moment of clarity, Elian understood the gravity of the situation. If he did not act quickly, the demonic entity within him would consume him entirely, leaving nothing but a husk in its wake. With grim determination, Elian reached deep within himself, tapping into his inner reserves of strength and willpower.

With a surge of energy, Elian concentrated on his nucleus, the source of his magical power. In a burst of light, he channeled his essence, creating a barrier around the demonic presence, trapping it within a cage of pure energy. It was a temporary solution, but one that bought him precious time to seek help.

As the first light of dawn painted the sky with hues of pink and gold, Elian's resolve was put to the test once more. Despite his efforts to contain the demonic entity within him, the barrier he had erected began to crack under the strain of its relentless assault. With a sickening lurch, Elian felt the dark presence surge against its confines, its malevolent energy threatening to break free.

With a sense of dread, Elian watched as the barrier shattered, unleashing the full force of the demonic entity within him. A swirling vortex of darkness enveloped the room, twisting and contorting into a sinister form that loomed over Elian like a specter of doom.

In the dim light, Elian could barely make out the features of his demonic counterpart—a shadowy figure with piercing crimson eyes and his demonic bat wings unfurled and his black demonic armor gleamed in the sunlight and horns that crowned its head. Its voice echoed with a chilling resonance, sending shivers down Elian's spine as it spoke.

"Foolish mortal," the demonic entity hissed, its voice dripping with malice. "You cannot contain me forever. I am a part of you, and together, we are unstoppable."

Elian gritted his teeth, his hands trembling with a mixture of fear and determination. "I will not let you control me," he declared, his voice unwavering despite the rising tide of darkness.

The demonic entity chuckled darkly, its eyes gleaming with cruel amusement. "Oh, but you cannot deny your true nature, Elian. Embrace the power that lies within you, and together, we shall conquer all who stand in our way."

Elian shook his head defiantly, refusing to succumb to the temptation of the dark side. "I will never surrender to you," he vowed, his gaze steely as he faced his inner demon head-on.

Unexpectedly, the demonic entity's demeanor shifted, its expression softening ever so slightly as it regarded Elian with a hint of curiosity. "Very well, mortal," it conceded, its voice tinged with an air of intrigue. "If you truly seek to defy your destiny, then you must prove yourself worthy of the power you so desperately cling to."

With a flick of its hand, the demonic entity conjured a swirling vortex of dark energy, weaving it into intricate patterns that danced around Elian in a mesmerizing display. "I shall teach you an ancient martial arts technique," it announced, its voice resonating with a strange mixture of authority and wisdom. "Master this technique, and you may yet stand a chance against the trials that lie ahead."

Elian watched in awe as the dark energy coalesced into tangible form, swirling around him like a tempest of shadows. With a deep breath, he steadied himself, ready to embark on a journey that would test his limits and reshape his destiny.
