Chapter 4 - Unlucky?

[I'm very sorry for all the typos and poor grammar, I'm esl and I try to fix the errors as soon as I see them (0^0) ]

*************************

Deep in the woods at night I run as fast I can while carrying the cloaked woman over my shoulders, dodging every branch, tree and rock I come across.

I would admire how physically fit this body is. IF NOT FOR THE FACT THAT I'M ABOUT TO LOSE IT.

"Where do you think your running to boy?! You can run all you like but you're not getting away from me!"

!!!

How am I supposed to get away from him?! If he wanted to catch me he would have done it already!!! He's just toying with me at this point!!!

The Otherhunter speeds past me like a bullet and with one swing of his sword, cuts down a massive tree that falls in front of me, blocking my path and forcing me to make a turn.

He's been doing stuff like this since I started running. From cutting down trees, to landing in front me, and he even threw a live boar at me once that exploded when it hit the ground.

He's trying to corner me and surround me and once he does its over for me. I have to think of a way out of this situation.

But that's gonna be hard in this situation, cause right now my brain...

I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die I don't want to die!!!

 !!!!

The hunter threw a massive tree towards me, narrowly missing me as it flies over my head.

I DON'T WANT TO DIE!!!

...Is thinking on how not to die.

I pick up the pace and started running to a different direction. The hunter clearly enjoying this, as he runs and jump from tree to tree.

Please just let me go! I just got to another world, it will be to sad if I die on the first day! If this was a novel, me dying during the Abyssal Tide will at least make the story a tragedy. But If I die now it's like killing the protagonists at the 4th chapter, or the 1st chapter if the author actually knows what he's doing and is good writing. At that point it's not even a tragedy or a comedy, it's just a disappointment!

The hunter then threw large boulder at me. It narrowly misses me as it hits the hairs on my head causing me to scream in terror.

I hear the hunter laughing maniacally in the back.

"That's right you better run boy! Or else we'll see how fast a chicken can run without its head!"

I'M GONNA DIE!!!

I ran as fast as my feet could carry me, being lead and chased by the hunter around the woods. I then noticed that I was heading towards a cave. I know that entering the cave was a terrible idea and is exactly what the hunter wants me to do to trap me...

SPLAT

A deer was hurled next to me with such velocity that its innards burst, splattering across the ground.

But it was clear that I really don't have much of a choice at this moment. I run inside the cave and then try to look around for anyway out, but it was far too dark for me to see anything. But it was clear that I was trapped here with nowhere else to go.

"Nowhere left to run huh?"

My body tenses as it slowly looked around in terror to see the Otherhunter at the entrance of the cave.

"Then, as promised... you get to die painfully."

Ah... I'm screwed...

The hunter takes one step forward...

And then stops.

As an audible growl was heard at the back of the cave. It seems the hunter noticed it to, as he tries to look behind me. I also turn around to see what made the noise.

Behind me is a massive beast with black fur and an orange mane, its fur was so thick and sharp that it might as well be spikes. With a row of long, sharp teeth, its jaws measured about three feet long. Both of its hands are muscular and bigger than the rest of its body, with incredibly long and jagged claws that were built to tear its prey into pieces. Its small beady eyes that blend in with the creature's fur, started eyeing us.

A chaos beast, a term used to describe the many monsters that the Archdemon Ba'al commanded during the age of chaos. Powerful monsters that could destroy an entire city and slaughter entire populations. Beasts that are loyal to the Archdemon's commands, If the the Archdemon tells them to kill, then they will kill and kill until not there is nothing left to kill. They do not need to eat or drink, nor do they ever get tired so there is nothing that will get in their way when accomplishing their tasks. A creature that once plunged the world to chaos is standing right behind me. Opening its mouth to growl and show of its teeth while spreading its claws.

I stand still in fear and awe. Awe at seeing the very monster I wrote about in my novels has come to life, and fear at seeing the very monster I wrote about in my novels has come to life. The very same monster I wrote and described as a murder machine that can tear my body limb from limb and turn me into a human pasta sauce.

The beast lets out a terrifying roar that caused me to duck, and cover the woman as if by instinct. I then feel the beast graze my hair as it pounces and almost catches me, but instead catches the hunter with its pounce. The chaos beast sent itself, and the hunter barreling out of the cave.

I wasn't going to miss this once in a lifetime chance as I got up and started running out of the cave. A few meters outside of the cave I see the otherhunter and the chaos beast fighting, the ground shook and the trees around them fell as a result of their intense battle. I then immediately run in the opposite direction of their fighting.

As I run I then see several houses past a steep slope. The houses look abandoned as there is no sign of life around any of the houses nor any sign of fire or light. I run as fast as I could down the slope while being careful with the woman in my arms, its a miracle we even made it this far. I look over to the woman on my shoulder. Her breathing is more calmer now and the blood stain on her clothes have dried, but she still looks like she is in pain.

Was it magic that healed her wounds? That would make sense, since she's a mage but-

My line of thinking was suddenly stops as I see some sort of black figure approaching behind me with incredible speed. I only had time to shield the woman before I was sent barreling down the slope, along with whatever just hit me. Eventually crashing trough the wall of one of the houses, with the figure hitting the ground then sending me flying to hit a mirror with my back.

I winced in pain, clenching my teeth. The pain was suddenly scared away as I see the chaos beast in front of me on the ground. The chaos beast slowly rises up, using its arms to support itself, shaking its fur like a wolf as if its brushing off the pain. The chaos beast then turns its head towards me, acknowledging my presence.

I unconsciously tried to cover the woman with my arms as I prepare to meet my demise.

So is this how I die? First day of being in another world, in the very world I created.

Hopefully it only eats me and it will ignore this woman...

Wait, right... it doesn't need to eat, it just kills for the sake of killing.

Please at least make this painless.

I closed my eyes and wait for the inevitable.

But nothing happens.

I slowly open my eyes to see the chaos beast keeping its distance with its head lowered, as if it is afraid of something. The chaos beast opened its mouth and lets out a growl.

"...B...a..."

It looks like its trying to speak.

"...a...l..."

Confused, I try look around to try and understand what's going on. In the ground I see a shard of glass revealing a strange figure. I turn around and see a shattered mirror reflecting someone holding a woman in its arms.

A man with dark, short violet hair and fiery orange eyes that looks as if they are glowing in the dark. He had 4 horns attached to his head, 2 short horns at the side, and 2 long horns at the front. His back had a set of long, dark, bat like wings folded behind him. In addition, a thick and scaly tail adorned with several short spikes.

The man or demon in the reflection is the one who leads the armies of chaos.

"...Lord..."

The one who plunged the world into chaos and almost brought it to total ruin.

"...Ba'al..."

The Archdemon Ba'al.

"This is... me?"

I gaze at the humanoid demon in the shattered mirror and move my hand, at the same time the demon in the reflection also moves his hand, following my movements.

"Eh?-"

Before I have anytime to process what was going on, another silhouette suddenly appears in the reflection, the otherhunter. The chaos beast turns around and takes a stance as if its about to pounce the hunter.

"A demon? That explains why chaos beasts have been appearing more lately, they had a leader that was disguised as a human.

But why are you helping a witch? I thought your kind hated all races that aren't as savage as yours."

As I listened to his speech, I started looking around the room for an escape and I spot what looks to be the back door of the house. I shuffled my legs to make a run for the door, but the hunter caught on to what I was doing.

"Not answering? Good, we can cut to the chase."

Just as the hunter rushes towards me, the chaos beast pounces the hunter, clawing and biting the hunter as he tries to fight it off of him. I ran through the back door while carrying the woman and try to get as far away from the house as I could.

As I turned my head around to see how far I got, I saw the hunter make its way to the backdoor of the house and aim his crossbow at me, only to get attacked by the chaos beast and miss his shot. I turned my head forward and continue running as the mist starts settling in.
