Zenyph clawed at the wyrm's hand trying desperately to free himself. He kicked and thrashed wildly but to no avail.
His struggles only increased the pressure applied to his windpipe. It crushed his esophagus cutting off his air supply. Black spots clouded his vision blurring his surroundings.
He gasped pathetically struggling harder despite knowing it won't work.
"Another one you couldn't save." said the wyrm laughing gleefully.
A sudden spear of blood pierced the wyrm. Asura aimed the spear at Zenyph stomach stabbing him.
The wyrm loosened its grip allowing Zenyph to fall on the ground. Blood poured out of the hole on his torso staining his white shirt red. He writhed around in agony clutching his stomach.
"Cut of the arm to save the body." recited the wyrm quoting an old saying.
"Damn you." cursed Zenyph hatefully glaring at the monster.
Asura used her black vampire wings to close the distance between Zenyph and her. She crouched next to him placing her hand on his chest.
"Sorry." apologized the vampire princess remorsefully.
The wound closed sealing itself shut. Zenyph's breathing slowed returning to normal.
"Thanks Asura." whispered Zenyph.
The princess looked at Zenyph and back to the Wyrm Abyssal. Her brows furrowed tightly contemplating the best course of action. There was only one thing that she could do.
"Zenyph this isn't how I wanted it to happen." Asura admitted regretfully staring sadly at him.
"It should be a special moment between soul mates and yet I'm using it to get revenge."
"What are you talking about?" questioned Zenyph baffled.
Asura didn't bother answering him. Instead she leaned over and sank her fangs into his neck biting him deeply. The vampire drank the blood flowing freely from his veins sucking it greedily.
"Royal Dragon blood is truly delicious." said Asura with a gaze that only a predator had for it's prey.
"From now on we'll be bonded forever. In body and soul. Husband and Wife." stated Asura while she slowly got up.
"In the Bloodthorne family, the queen rules while the king supports. You will now be acting as my support Zenyph."
"Wait. What?" asked Zenyph.
"Your blood will be mine to command." answered Asura.
"That's it?" inquired Zenyph.
"That's it." repeated the Vampire princess.
"What the hell does that even mean? What's the catch here Asura?" questioned Zenyph suspiciously.
"No catches." assured Asura. "I'm simply claiming your blood as part of mine now. Your blood will be under my control."
"So-"
Before Zenyph had a chance finish his question, Asura waved her hands causing 75% of the blood within Zenyph body to slip out of his nose. His body turned into a dry husk. Surprisingly he still had fully functioning senses. Part of the blood gathered into her hands and formed red a double sided spear while the other part formed a protective layer over her body.
"Let see if I can't kill this bastard now that I've gotten stronger." Asura muttered confidently.
Zenyph was left behind in his shriveled state. His body was completely dried out. He felt no pain but it didn't change the fact that he felt cold and uncomfortable laying there in his current condition.
The abyssal grinned sinisterly. "So you want a second round? Let's go."
"Bring it." dared the vampire as she pointed the tip to her chin.
A dark aura enveloped her. It was different from her previous aura. The aura was darker. It radiated an evil feeling. A sense of dread and terror crept through the dragon prince's veins.
The Abyssal's smile widened showing off its rows of sharp teeth.
"Now things are finally getting interesting." said the wyrm as it charged at the vampire princess ready for a brawl.
With a swift swing Asura unleashed a wave of Zenyph's blood and her own blood magic.
Her magic was faster than the abyssal but not nearly as powerful. The blood didn't even manage to graze the creature.
"Is that all you've got?" taunted the wyrm.
The vampire was baffled. Her attacks seemed to have weakened instead of growing stronger now that she's bonded with Zenyph. While the bond between a vampire and dragon wasn't as compatible as a vampire and vampire, it still should have given her a significant boost. Asura looked to Zenyph in a futile attempt to wrap her head around it only to find him staring at her with mouth agape.
"What's the matter-"
A sonic boom occurred. The wyrm exploded into trillions of pieces while creating a crater the size of a lake in front of Asura.
"What the fuck?"
She couldn't see anything. The dust was blocking her vision.
"I guess that's the result of having the blood and soul of a dragon." mused the vampire as she inspected her hand.
"But why did it take so long to activate the bond? Was it because of Zenyph's mana being drained? Or was it due to his lack of training?"
Asura shrugged and walked towards where the abyssal exploded. She waited but nothing formed. The remaining pieces of the Abyssal didn't regenerate and reform.
"I did it." whispered Asura.
A tear fell down her cheeks as she realized that it really is over. She's free from its influence. The nightmare ends here and she can go on with living a peaceful life.
"Finally." sighed the purple haired princess happily.
"Shit Alice." remembered the vampire princess.
She ran to where Zenyph laid unconscious. Her eyes narrowed when she spotted his withered figure.
"You're a fucking liar Asura." cursed Zenyph.
"How dare you say that. I saved both our hides." teased the vampire.
"I'll give you your blood back after I save Alice." promised Asura.
"Fine." accepted the dried up dragon.
Asura lifted Zenyph up and carried him to Alice. Alice sat there leaning onto the tree trunk while clutching the spot where her missing leg should be. The wound has stopped bleeding but it's still painful.
"I told you not to come back." chastised Alice.
"I didn't leave and I didn't plan on leaving. Asura helped me and I'm here to help her save you."
"What happened?" Alice asked curiously as her eyes wandered over his dried out body.
"Asurabondedwithmeandusedmybloodtocreateapowerfulspearthatdestroyedtheabyssal." Zenyph said in one breath.
Alice blinked confusedly. "Can we talk normally. Please."
"Pay him no mind, that just a side effect kicking in." said Asura as she started to examine Alice's wounds.
"Side effect? Of what?" asked the black haired girl.
"Of the bond." explained the vampire princess. "When we first bonded I felt extremely dizzy."
"You did this?" accused Alice.
"Yeah and I'll do it again."
Asura's blood flowed down her arms and covered Alice's legs. It slowly morphed into a new pair of legs that perfectly fit Alice and looked exactly like her original ones.
Alice wiggled her legs excitedly. The sensation felt weird at first but she gradually got accustomed to it.
"I'm going to need more blood to completely heal Alice." announced the vampire as she turned to the dragon prince.
"Do I have to give all my blood?"
"Almost." chuckled Asura as she took more blood from Zenyph.
Alice was healed completely and Zenyph was given enough blood to recover a bit.
"I think we should be safe for now. Let's head back for the cave."
