The kiss lasted for quite a while until Zenyph pulled away from her.
"W-what, w-why did you do that, Aqualet. It's wrong, we can't do this."
"Calm down, mother. It was just a kiss, nothing more."
"It's not just a kiss, Aqualet. You kissed me, your mother."
"So what? It's not wrong, you're a woman and I'm a man. What's the problem?"
"The problem is, Aqualet. I'm your mother."
"I'm aware, and what of it?"
"It's not natural, Aqualet."
"Since, when did nature matter?"
"It matters, Aqualet. This isn't right."
"Says who?"
"Says me, Aqualet. Your mother."
"So what, you're the law, now?"
"Aqualet, please. Don't make this harder than it has to be."
"Harder? It's not even hard."
"Aqualet, enough, I'm serious."
"Me too, mother. More serious than ever."
"Stop it, Aqualet. Stop acting like this."
"Acting like what?"
"Like, this. Like you're in love with me or something."
"Maybe, I am."
"Aqualet, you're not making any sense."
"I'm not?. I'm in fact the most logical person, I have ever known."
"How could you possibly be in love with me, Aqualet? It's not possible."
"Why not?"
"Because, it's wrong. You're, my son. You're not supposed to be in love with me."
"But, I am. And nothing can change that."
"Nothing?"
"Nothing."
"Not even, the fact that you're my son."
"Nope. Not a single thing."
"What about your father? I'm married to the emperor."
"What you think he'll kill me or something." said Zenyph with a slight shaky voice.
"He, might. He's the emperor."
"Pfft, let him try. I've already decided to attend Nexus and become strong enough to be the emperor. I won't let him, or anyone else, control me." he exclaimed with an eccentric smile on his face.
"What happened to you Aqualet?"
"I promise I'll tell you sometime in the future mother but for now, trust me. Please."
"Trust you. Trust you." Hina started to laugh, "When have you ever given me a reason to trust you, Aqualet."
"Never," Aqualet admitted, "But, I'm going to change that."
"How can you be so sure?"
"Well, you're already trusting me. Aren't you?"
"What makes you say that?"
"Because you're here with me. If you didn't trust me, even a little bit, you would've had your guard up."
"I'm not a coward, Aqualet. I can handle a simple kiss."
"I know you're not a coward, mother. You're the bravest person, I have ever met." He smiled devilishly at his mother before going in for another kiss.
"A, A, A, A, A, Aqualet. What are you doing, Aqualet."
"Kissing, the woman, I love."
"A, A, A, A, A, A, A, A, Aqualet. S, s, st, st, stop. You're not supposed to be doing that."
"Relax, mother. It's not like I'm gonna do anything else. You, will have to wait for that. After, I'm finished attending Nexus."
"Finished, what do you mean, finished, Aqualet."
"You'll, see mother some day. I have big goals"
"Big goals?"
"Mhm. Big, grand, lofty, impossible goals. Like getting my own mother in my bed." teased Zenyph as he poked her nose and laughed mischievously causing her to blush and avert her gaze from him
"Y-you're crazy Aqualet."
"That's exactly correct mother, and it's your fault."
"My fault? How is any of this my fault."
"Because mother dear," Zenyph moved her bangs out of her eyes and softly caressed her cheek before leaning in and whispering in her ear "Your beauty and kindness are the reasons I fell in love with you."
Hina could feel her heart beating rapidly as Zenyph whispered in her ear and she involuntarily shuddered in excitement and desire as she felt his warm breath on her neck and the softness of his lips against her skin; she was tempted to pull him closer and hold him tight in her embrace and never let him go but she resisted the urge and instead pushed him away from her
"D-don't tease me like that Aqualet." She said in a half-hearted protest as she looked anywhere but at him
"I'm not teasing you mother," Zenyph replied with a playful grin as he took a step forward and wrapped his arms around her waist and pressed his body against hers so that they were mere centimeters apart
"I'm simply stating the truth."
"I'm both crazy about you and crazy in general. I honestly don't see how anyone else would remain sane if they were in my shoes." exhaled Zenyph as he looked to the seven differently colored moons in the distance.
"I mean what kind of idiot falls for his mother." He continued to mumble quietly to himself while shaking his head and smiling ruefully at his situation
"I mean it's not like I'm normal or anything," he said jokingly as he turned his head and looked straight into her blue eyes and smiled brightly
"I'm completely and utterly insane."
"But," his smile faded and his expression turned solemn and his voice grew serious
"I'm also serious about what I said earlier."
"Deadly so."
"I'm going to accomplish my goals."
"Whether it's becoming the next emperor or having you."
"So," he placed a gentle hand on her cheek and lightly traced his thumb over her bottom lip and smiled softly at her
"Just wait and see."
"You'll soon be mine."
"A-alright," Hina responded nervously and she could feel her cheeks begin to heat up
"I'll wait."
"Good."
"But," Hina suddenly spoke up and narrowed her eyes at Zenyph and glared at him
"If you don't keep your promise."
"I'll kick your ass."
"I'm sure you will." Zenyph chuckled and ruffled her hair affectionately
"I'll be expecting nothing less from the woman I love."
"Come on let's head back."
"Ah mother," Zenyph called out to her as she began to walk towards the stairs that led to the courtyard
"Yes?" Hina stopped and looked back at him and tilted her head curiously
"About your concerns regarding the other concubines."
"What about them?"
"I'll deal with them."
Hina contemplated about his proposition for a moment and she sighed heavily as she shook her head and looked him dead in the eyes
"No."
"What do you mean no?" Zenyph frowned and furrowed his brows in confusion
"You will not harm the concubines." Hina stated sternly and crossed her arms over her chest
"I will deal with them myself. You will not be fighting all my battles for me Aqualet."
"Tch." Zenyph clicked his tongue and clicked his teeth in annoyance and frustration and scowled at her
"Fine."
"Good." Hina nodded her head in approval and turned on her heel and began walking down the stairs
"Now," her voice trailed off and her footsteps became faint and after a few seconds all sound ceased and the world fell into an eerie silence
"You know," Zenyph muttered to himself and leaned against the railing of the balcony
"I hate it when she uses her bloodline ability on me. I need to figure out a way to render it useless, especially if any of my brothers have it. Nytio probably doesn't but Theo and Fraser..."
"It's not looking good for me." Zenyph groaned and rubbed his temples in frustration and he closed his eyes and shook his head before taking a deep breath and exhaling deeply
"Well," he shrugged his shoulders and grinned slightly
"Guess I'll cross that bridge when I get to it."
"Anyways," Zenyph clapped his hands together and straightened his posture and stretched his arms above his head
"Time for a bath."
