Chapter 251 - Prophecy

The night was as still as water. The moonlight here was somewhat murky, casting a hazy, indistinct glow on the ground.

At the foot of the mountain, the roads were paved with bluestone bricks, with piles of debris left by vendors during the day scattered along the sides.

From the houses, occasional sounds of conversations could be heard—parents caring for their children, couples quarreling—just like thousands of ordinary families.

There were conflicts and grievances.

But this place gave Daisy a very relaxed feeling. There was little hostility between people, unlike the urgency of cities built of steel and concrete. It was like an isolated, self-sufficient paradise.

Daisy soon arrived at the foot of the Holy Mountain. This mountain was about 5,000 meters high by her estimation. She did not take the mountain path. To be discreet and to respect Kunlun, she did not fly but chose to climb the back of the mountain. With her agility, this was not difficult.

There were no imagined celestial crane calls, no serene chanting of ancient texts; among the clouds and mist, only the whistling of the night wind against the rocks could be heard.

It took her half an hour to climb to the top. The architecture on the summit was grand, row upon row, with extremely layered planning, and there was a large courtyard within her sight.

At the northernmost part of the courtyard was the main hall, a tall building with a grand roof, its four curved surfaces creating a striking visual impact.

In the middle was a spacious square, with faint traces of footprints on the stone floor, suggesting it was a training ground.

Near the gate were two octagonal pagodas made of wood and stone.

The empty area left Daisy speechless. Shouldn't people be out here training or having tea at night? This empty space offered nothing for her to investigate.

As she was about to explore elsewhere, she turned around and saw a man in a green robe standing not far to her left.

She had been using her frequency detection all along, yet this person had entered within five meters of her without her noticing.

The man in the green robe was covered from head to toe, only revealing two silver-glowing eyes. He stood with his hands behind his back, looking straight ahead, and spoke solemnly, "You have arrived a few years earlier than the prophecy."

Without the Ancient One's warning, Daisy might have thought the man was referring to Hope, the White Phoenix who brought new hope to mutants, but now she wasn't so sure.

Prophecies are always changing; the future is full of uncertainties. In some timelines, Daisy became a Level 10 agent at eighteen, while in others, S.H.I.E.L.D. disbanded on her first day of work.

And that's just for a relatively minor character like her. For someone like Captain America, his corruption could throw the entire world into chaos. Talking about the Hope of mutants and the Phoenix in a world where Captain America is corrupted is nonsense.

Even if Thanos comes to Earth as Captain Titan to form the Avengers, with Captain America as "CapThanos," collecting Infinity Stones to attack Earth—Daisy, in her wild imagination, considers these events plausible to happen.

From her conversations with the Ancient One, Daisy understood the sorcerer's attitude towards the world: indifference. 'Do whatever you want; I've seen the worst outcomes.'

"Do you understand the connection between Kunlun and the Phoenix?" the man in the green robe asked.

Daisy felt she wasn't supposed to know and shook her head.

"Five hundred years ago, the Phoenix's gaze pierced through the cosmos and noticed Earth for the first time. The prophecy told me that a woman would rise to defeat the Phoenix."

"I found her at the foot of Kunlun. Her mother was from Kunlun, and her father was a European who happened to be there when we were descended on Earth. Her distinct appearance led to countless hardships from a young age, forging a character as solid as a rock."

The man in the green robe sighed, turning to look at Daisy. "Red hair, a blend of East and West, a young woman carrying the power of the Phoenix—history has returned to my sight once more."

As he sighed, Daisy glanced at her hair. One-third of it had already turned red, indicating the increasing influence of the Phoenix on her.

"How did you get here?" the green-robed man asked.

Daisy remained silent. Partly because it involved her unique abilities and even the most honest person, if they weren't stupid, wouldn't reveal their trump cards upon first meeting.

Also, she couldn't speak the local language. If spoken slowly, she could understand half and guess the rest; if spoken quickly, she couldn't understand at all. Communicating with a master whose power she didn't know using mental power felt risky.

Her silence confirmed something even more for the green-robed man. He nodded, "Just as the prophecy said, like that woman, you cannot speak?"

Daisy, who could chat for hours with anyone on the street, had a dumb face when she was mistaken for mute. For her, this was a weird experience. What the fuck is this prophecy?

Before she could think of a response, the man had already decided she was mute.

"The wheel of fate has turned, and I can only follow its course. The prophecy describes your problems. Since we managed to pass the prophecy safely last time, we can complete it smoothly this time. Stay here in peace, and I will see you again in a few days."

"Leigong, take her to rest. The prophecy has come early; I still need to make some preparations." The green-robed man then walked off the roof as if on flat ground. At that moment, a man in black appeared to Daisy's right.

Though his movements were also ghostly, Daisy noted that his speed was similar to hers, not as smooth as the green-robed man.

However, his dress almost made Daisy bite her tongue.

The man was muscular, wearing a black mask that revealed his eyes and mouth. He was shirtless but wore crisscrossed straps with menacing-looking spikes and iron rings.

A strong philosophical aura came out of his body almost making Daisy cough up blood in amusement.

Not only was his appearance striking like some thunder metal rockstar, but his name was also fitting—Leigong (Thunder Lord).

Daisy knew he was a martial arts master, the mentor of Iron Fist. But seeing him in reality was vastly different from the comics. Now she dared to even stare down the Living Tribunal, but this man was different. His philosophical(funny) aura was overwhelming, and she didn't want to look again after just one glance.

Despite his ridiculous appearance, Leigong had the demeanor of a true master. His upper body was a broad, muscular V-shape, moving with grace. His mere presence exuded boundless strength.

Leading the way, Leigong moved swiftly. Daisy followed silently, carrying her bag. After many twists and turns, they reached a secluded house.

"You can stay in this room. Join us at the Mao Shi tomorrow to practice martial arts and strengthen your body," Leigong said.
