Daisy didn't care about the toxins, but asked her own questions, "I have a question. I need to lift a giant steel structure into the sky, but the fan area relative to the body is too small, providing insufficient lift..."
She went on at length, and Pepper, trying to be patient, listened for a while but couldn't understand anything.
Stark wasn't sure why she was suddenly asking him these questions—were they that close? However, as he listened, he became increasingly interested.
Both women and engineering were his loves, and given a choice between the two, he would choose engineering.
Daisy's problem was very complex, his forehead still bleeding, yet he didn't wipe it away as they discussed the issue right there on the spot.
"What's the turbulence parameter?"
"You guys are making some sort of sky weapon, right? Have you considered such a huge suction?" He shifted from disinterest to focused discussion in just thirty seconds.
"Reduce the rotation speed, and the turbine blades should be angled a few degrees different from traditional ones, this needs specific calculations..."
The two discussed for half an hour under Pepper's eyes which seemed doubtful of reality, she couldn't believe this was happening. During this time, Ivan Vanko regained consciousness twice, but each time he was firmly "crushed" by Daisy.
This man was quite clever. He tried to play dead and then suddenly attack, but unfortunately, he hadn't been trained like the Hand to hide his heartbeat, which Daisy easily detected.
After being "crushed" for the fourth time, even the Russian's tough physique couldn't withstand it anymore, and Ivan Vanko's eyes rolled back as he passed out completely.
Yet Daisy and Stark's discussion didn't stop. SHIELD's scientists might not be all talk; but the problems they couldn't solve themselves, Stark could brainstorm and help solve 30-40% of them just off the cuff. The rest, through sheer brainpower, he helped solve more than 20% of.
Daisy gained a lot, as sometimes in science and technology, a breakthrough in a critical point can lead to sudden clarity. Stark didn't know they were lifting an aircraft carrier, and many considerations weren't specific.
For example, it's common sense no one could stand on top of an aircraft as it ascended. Who in their right mind would stand outside under four massive fans blowing? That would be insane. SHIELD had to figure these things out themselves.
Daisy gained many new insights, but by then, Monaco police had arrived at the scene. With everyone watching, she couldn't perform her teleportation act, so she gestured for Stark to get in the car, and they headed back to the hotel first.
"My car!" Stark's eyes widened as he saw the totally wrecked front of the Rolls-Royce Phantom.
As he was assessing the damage, he noticed the reactor on Ivan Vanko's chest. He moved quickly, his expression guarded, and turned to ask Daisy, "Did you make that for him?"
"Of course not."
"I'll cover for you, quickly take it off!" After saying this, Stark exaggeratedly went to greet the Monaco police.
Daisy reached out and while no one was paying attention, quickly yanked off Ivan Vanko's reactor.
Ivan Vanko was taken away by the police, and Daisy and her group returned to the Hotel de Paris.
"You can't leave yet, I'm very suspicious that this guy's reactor has something to do with SHIELD." As one of the only two people capable of making such reactors, Stark's suspicion of Daisy was only natural.
To prove her innocence, Daisy had no choice but to go with him to see Ivan Vanko.
Monaco, the 2nd smallest country in the world, not only has a small land area but also enjoys playing deadly racing games. Their total population is just over 30,000 people.
Daisy and Stark entered the local hospital, which in Monaco serves as both the main and only hospital due to the country's small population size. There's generally a lack of patients given the population's good health and low stress levels, and almost no people come to see the doctor.
Upon entering the lobby, they were greeted by a piano placed right in the middle—a stark contrast to the overcrowded hospitals Daisy remembered from her past life, which the people of Monaco could hardly imagine.
However, today was busier than usual due to many racers dying, but their were also 2 injured in the event, including Ivan Vanko, who was among the three patients rushed to this hospital by ambulance.
Tony Stark's influence is completely useless in this small European country. Daisy took out an FBI badge from her purse again to gain access. The other party hesitated for a while but finally allowed them entry.
"Is this ID real?" It was Tony's first time pretending to be FBI and he was a little excited.
It's just that he had doubts about the authenticity of the documents.
"It's real, more real than gold..."
Stark, amused, wanted to play with a badge for himself but remembered his too-famous face would make that impossible.
Shortly after, they found Ivan Vanko, but he wasn't in any state for conversation.
Vanko, brutally run over by someone earlier, had suffered multiple fractures and remained unconscious even after emergency treatment, leading to his transfer to the intensive care unit.
Stark had many questions, but with the man still unconscious, there was nothing to be done.
He could only wait by the hospital bed and study the reactor he had taken from Vanko.
"This isn't your work?"
"For the last time, no!"
This conclusion puzzled Stark. Daisy's ability to reverse-engineer based on the physical object, which in his opinion was already impressive; he figured he could do the same given time in a different place without his father's blueprint, but it would take some time. It could be reversed, but at most at Daisy's level, it was impossible to miniaturize it to the size of a palm as seen with Vanko's reactor.
"How did he manage to create this reactor? It's not like he watched TV and copied it off my chest. That's just unscientific."
Stark's gaze shifted between Daisy and the comatose Vanko, suspecting there was more to the story than he knew.
"What do you think about his design? The rotation speed seems low."
"The materials he used are subpar, which only allows for a relatively low rotation speed, and since it's only powering his whips, it doesn't need high output," Daisy couldn't help critiquing Vanko's arc reactor.
"If he commercialized this technology, he could quickly collect a fortune," No one besides Stark knew this better.
Daisy chuckled at his remark, "Looks like he's more focused on trying to kill you. Collecting wealth probably isn't on his agenda as much as fulfilling his mission to kill you."
They treated Vanko as if he were not even in the room, discussing freely and growing increasingly enthusiastic about their technical debate. It wasn't until they left that they stopped, and Vanko didn't wake up. Naturally, the encounter between them like the original timeline didn't happen.
Stark's mood was dark, his palladium poisoning was worsening, and from time to time he needed to drink medicine to neutralize the toxins.
The arc reactor had both saved and damned him, worsening his physical state significantly, to the point his vision began to blur. They soon wrapped up their intense discussion; Stark had to manage his health, and Daisy needed to return to her study of the turbine engine, and forgot about Vanco as they headed to their respective homes.
