As Nick Fury was about to leave, Daisy suddenly remembered something. "Oh right, what about Namor?"
"I've taken Namor into custody. His body needs to come into contact with seawater every day, so you don't need to worry about him," Nick replied.
Nick Fury was genuinely a bit afraid of Daisy's ability to cause trouble. A surveillance task ended up revealing Captain America. He didn't know what to say about Daisy's "good" luck.
If he let her continue, they might fish out the Red Skull tomorrow and dig up Hitler the day after!
For the healthy and orderly development of humanity, it's best for her to honestly stay at the base!
Nick Fury left, leaving Daisy to work on creating the arc reactor.
This large-scale reactor had strict requirements for the design, as well as high demands for various materials and skilled workers.
Doing this alone would be extremely difficult. Just preparing the materials would require a lot of effort and money. But with S.H.I.E.L.D. backing her, none of this was a problem.
S.H.I.E.L.D. could procure any materials, and any experimental equipment could be found within the organization.
Daisy became the project manager for this modification project. As a scientist directly under S.H.I.E.L.D., including the old man, there were a total of 19 people. There were experts from within S.H.I.E.L.D., external professors, and even "prisoners" like the old man, who seemed to be rehabilitated criminals.
She didn't care about that. Whether from a scientific or a special agent perspective, she could easily command this group of people.
The old man was the one with the strongest desire for knowledge at the scene. He had been pondering various data related to the arc reactor for several months, but several key pieces of data were unclear, leaving him puzzled.
The more he thought about it, the more confused he became.
Now, seeing Daisy's drawings, he immediately grabbed them and carefully examined them.
As each critical number entered his sight, the doubts in his mind were answered, and the old man danced with joy.
He didn't know that Daisy had cheated last time by using her powers to obtain the answers and had now used artificial intelligence to deduce the process from the answers.
In his mind, Daisy always knew all the data about the reactor, the kind of super genius who could understand the operating principles with just one glance. Last time, to maintain secrecy, she didn't tell him many values. But now that they were all comrades on the same boat, there was no need to hide anything.
The old man, Dr. Williams, was no longer so resistant to being forcibly recruited by S.H.I.E.L.D. if it meant gaining new knowledge.
However, upon careful examination, he found many problems. He could construct this reactor according to the drawings, but he didn't understand how these values were derived or why these values were chosen.
"Miss Johnson, this value..." he began.
Before he could finish, Daisy interrupted. She wasn't here to give lectures. Don't understand? Well, that's just perfect! If you understand, she'd be screwed!
"Start immediately. My time is limited, Dr. Williams, and your work is crucial," she said lightly, immediately sending the old man, who was prepared to learn, to the production line.
The remaining scientists were each responsible for a part, while she oversaw the overall project.
She assigned a heap of tasks and asked everyone to split up for preparations. As everyone got busy, she stretched her waist lazily, sitting in her temporary office, preparing to rest for a while.
First, she supervised Namor, and was scared by the Dark Phoenix, then she went to rescue Cap, and now she was researching and designing. Three days of continuous work without rest was a heavy burden on the brain.
Even though her physical and mental strength far surpassed that of ordinary people, she felt a wave of exhaustion at this moment and slowly fell asleep on the desk.
After an unknown amount of time passed, Daisy felt like someone was speaking softly in her ear, but the tone was a bit arrogant. The temperature around her was also uncomfortably warm, and she felt like she was inside a furnace.
Had Lorna set her villa on fire? That little troublemaker! Daisy struggled to open her eyes.
Huh? She frowned slightly. The scene indeed had flames soaring into the sky, but it didn't look like her villa at all.
Daisy found herself in a small house. Two sides were walls, with one collapsed, and the broken wall had some graffiti that looked like children's drawings. The intact wall was hung with pink cartoon-patterned curtains...
There were no walls behind Daisy or to her right. As she looked up, she saw a dilapidated roof. What was now considered a "house" was just a wall supporting it.
A dangerous building! Daisy looked behind her and saw a vast expanse of white, filled with fluffy, fog-like tufts, while a wave of scorching heat rushed toward her.
This wasn't her room, or even a room in her villa, that much she was sure of.
Daisy was just wondering, where am I?
Just when she was full of doubts, a woman with long red hair and a dress walked out of the raging flames nearby.
With the woman's arrival, the room underwent some noticeable changes. It was like a scene from a play, where the stage became lively once the lead actor appeared.
A desk and a chair appeared in front of Daisy. That was all she had, occupying only a few square meters. The rest of the area, as far as her eyes could see, belonged to the redhead.
She also noticed that as the woman entered, the only intact wall groaned under the strain once again.
Cracks covered the wall, and there was a power doing occasional attempts to repair it, but the rate of destruction was clearly faster than the rate of repair. The collapse of the entire room was only a matter of time.
The woman's eyes turned white, exuding endless energy. A phoenix with outstretched wings appeared on her well-developed chest.
The phoenix seemed substantial, even though it was just a pattern on her clothes. But Daisy felt like it was a living creature, a mighty entity full of spirituality and power.
Phoenix? Or the dark personality of Jean Gray?
Daisy felt both were present, but she couldn't understand how she ended up in Jean's mental world.
Having read countless online novels and fanfics, and possessing some abilities herself, she wasn't ignorant of mental worlds. She could tell that this burning house was Jean's mental world, while the area under her feet wasn't. It was Daisy's own mental world.
"Destroy everything! Since anger can't be contained, let this world burn!" Dark Jean behaved as if she was in a drama, shouting some edgy chunni lines.
At first, Daisy was genuinely frightened, her heart pounding relentlessly. But after watching for a while, she didn't find it scary at all. This corrupted Jean seemed immersed in her own world. Could she not see her?
Trying to leave this mental world, Daisy found that the connection between the two was very tight. She estimated that only she or Jean, one of them, needed to wake up for this connection to be severed.
Initially, she put her feet on the desk to watch Dark Jean's performance, but then soon she got bored and started looking through the desk projected into her mental world.
