After intense activity, Daisy let out a sigh. It was too cold here. While she had some resistance to harsh environments, wearing short sleeves in the Arctic was a bit too much for her. The holes in her jeans were letting in the cold wind, and her canvas shoes, exposing her ankles, felt sore against the icy surface.
All four of them were actually dressed in summer clothes; Jean was even wearing a narrow skirt. But with the Phoenix Force, she didn't feel cold at all, just like Johnny, who was impervious to cold. Only Susan and Daisy were feeling the chill.
Susan stood next to Johnny, using her brother as a human heater.
"Let's go back to New York," Daisy suggested, eager to return. Using her telekinetic powers, she lifted herself and the unconscious Namor into the air.
Huh? A peculiar frequency appeared on the outskirts of her perception. She discerned the direction and realized that about a kilometer north of their current location, there was a significant collapse of an iceberg, and it seemed that something had appeared after the collapse.
Pointing to the north, she asked Johnny, "Is that the location where you fought before?"
Johnny, who had been observing how she flew, looked into the distance and saw nothing but white. Without any reference point, everything looked the same. He wasn't very sure. "It might be. Why?"
Daisy muttered under her breath, "I think I saw your distant relative... Let's go back to New York first."
With that, she stopped explaining and flew the plane with everyone back to New York.
The Storm siblings got off the plane first. Before disembarking, Jean reminded her, "If you feel any type of discomfort, please come find me or Professor Charles immediately."
Locking Namor in the S.H.I.E.L.D. prison specially prepared for superpowered individuals, Daisy called her subordinates from S.H.I.E.L.D., bringing along a large number of excavation and medical equipment onto a transport plane.
"Coulson, come with me. What? Where to? The Arctic!" Daisy was concise on the phone, so much so that Coulson, who had just arrived a minute before they boarded, was still wearing his usual suit with plaid shirt and glasses.
"Are you sure? Are you sure?" Coulson, the old softie, sounded a bit shaky, repeating himself twice.
"Trust me."
The large transport plane landed in the Arctic in the early hours of the second day. A fierce snowstorm obstructed the pilot's vision, forcing them to circle in the air for a while until the visibility improved and they could land slowly.
Snow was everywhere, and visibility was low. Daisy wore a down jacket and protective goggles as she tried to identify the direction. It was more about sensing the special frequencies. Eventually, she confirmed the direction, and three multi-purpose snow vehicles slowly drove northwest.
"Daisy, are you sure it's around here? I don't see anything," Sharon, her best friend, was called over with them to help ensure medical treatment for later.
It had been almost an hour since they left the plane, and the agents couldn't see a thing. They followed Daisy's guidance, but many of them were doubtful, but remained silent as their level wasn't as high as Daisy. Only Coulson, who outranked Daisy, remained silent. Now, Sharon was the only one expressing doubt.
Daisy had no choice. The road conditions were poor, and visibility was worse. She had to navigate and survey the road surface, leading the convoy back and forth.
"We're getting close. I saw it around here when I was on the plane. Let me get out and search."
"No need, Daisy. I think I see it. Is that what you were talking about?" Coulson stopped Daisy, who was about to get out of the car. He opened the car window, letting the swirling snow enter the car. Unconcerned, he pointed to the left, looking somewhat anxious as he asked.
Daisy glanced in the direction Coulson was pointing. The blizzard was too intense, and even with her enhanced vision, she couldn't see much. However, the vibrational frequency couldn't lie—they had indeed found their target.
Feeling pleased, she joked, "You must not be Coulson, Hawkeye!"
"It seems I'm not that old yet," Coulson joked back, also in good spirits.
As the multi-purpose vehicles approached the target, the agents finally got a clear view of the massive object parked within the ice.
A gigantic metal wing was sloping towards the sky, with the rest of the aircraft still trapped within the iceberg.
"It does look like the Nazi Horten 2-29 fighter jet," Daisy's subordinate, Mockingbird, commented as she joined them, her arms crossed as she examined the aircraft.
Similar to the American B-2 stealth bomber, Germany had indeed developed a stealth fighter, but the outcome of the war had already been determined, and it was never produced.
The aircraft before them had a wing span of about 100 meters on just one side, making it an enormous object, unmistakably a product of Hydra's advanced technology.
Daisy immediately gathered everyone together to devise an excavation plan. The agents were versatile, although their combat abilities were somewhat lacking, they were skilled in various fields.
A rescue plan was soon formulated. Daisy watched from a distance as the high-speed cutting machine worked for fifteen minutes, opening a two-meter diameter hole from directly above. Coulson volunteered to go down and investigate.
After a short time, he sent a message—they had found him!
Seeing Coulson hand over Captain America's shield, the agents were filled with excitement.
After some effort, they slowly excavated Captain America from the ice, like uncovering a fossil. Even in his unconscious state, Captain America's posture remained resolute, as if nothing in the world could defeat him.
Even if she didn't agree with his beliefs, Daisy had come to rescue Captain America as soon as she found him, not for fame or honor, but out of respect.
You could dislike him, but you had to respect him.
After working for most of the day, they finally pulled Captain America out of the plane. Nick Fury also arrived.
"How is he? When will he wake up? Will there be any lingering diseases?" Fury asked Sharon Carter, the most professional doctor present, upon seeing Captain America in deep coma.
Sharon, Daisy's best friend, was also somewhat emotional at the moment. The blonde beauty organized her thoughts several times before stuttering out, "He should wake up within six months at most, maybe even just a month if we're lucky."
"As for whether there will be any diseases, I can't say for sure. Captain America's physique exceeds that of an ordinary person, and we have no previous cases to compare." Sharon finally gave her professional opinion.
"What's your opinion?" Nick Fury asked Daisy.
"His body is very strong. As long as his brain resumes functioning, there shouldn't be any issues with his body," Daisy replied, seeing through Fury's intentions. He didn't really care about Captain America; he just wanted a reliable thug to lead the Avengers.
As long as this person could convince the higher-ups, control a group of Avengers, and ultimately obey his orders, whether he was called Captain America or Captain Zimbabwe didn't matter...
