Chapter 172 - The price of becoming stronger is a bit high

"Daisy, help him calculate the distance, quickly!" Fortunately, there were understanding people behind the scenes who had driven tanks before and knew her capabilities.

Nick Fury reminded her over the communication channel.

At this point, she suddenly realized, "Why didn't you say so earlier?" She had thought this high-tech tank needed to warm up before firing.

"The distance is 5,500 meters, height 1002, fire!"

"The distance is 4,300 meters, height 2005, fire!"

With her dynamic vision, aiming and calculating the trajectory of the Hulk's parabolic descent wasn't difficult for her.

The driver and gunner were sweating profusely, not caring how she calculated the data. Following her instructions, they continuously poured firepower onto the Hulk's head.

While enough to turn ordinary people to dust, the effect on the Hulk wasn't significant, just stronger than the energy guns.

Under the relentless barrage, the Hulk retreated repeatedly.

One arm kept blocking the cannons, now dripping with blood, revealing glimpses of bones despite his incredible healing ability.

"It's effective, keep going. Huh? Why are you coming out?" Before she finished speaking, four American soldiers emerged from the tank.

"Hurry, run! The artillery's energy is depleted!" The leader, seemingly the tank commander, shouted to her from a distance, and then the four of them scattered and fled the scene.

Daisy was exasperated. "You should've told me to keep running!"

She felt annoyed. Ever since receiving the blessing of the Heart-Shaped Herb, she had been pursued relentlessly—by Mandarin and now even by the Hulk.

Although panthers are known for being good runners, the chances of running from things are often too much now!

Was there still a curse attached to the blessing of the Panther Goddess? She grumbled inwardly but kept on running.

The Hulk took seven or eight hits, but he didn't even notice the soldiers. He smashed the tank of the Red Skull brand mercilessly, and then, still filled with rage, continued to chase her.

"Daisy, there's a problem now..." Just as she was about to lead the Hulk out of the city, Nick Fury's voice came through the communication channel again.

"What's wrong? Haven't you finished setting up yet?" With the Hulk throwing anything he could grab, Daisy had to dodge debris and the Hulk's attacks while speaking. The high-speed communication signal was a bit unclear.

Nick Fury said something, but Daisy couldn't quite hear him clearly. He repeated, "There's another monster at the Pentagon! It looks a lot like the Hulk, but its skin seems to be yellow."

"The generals want you to lead the Hulk back there and let both monsters die together!" Nick Fury shouted on the other end.

Daisy's head was spinning. "Lead him back there again? The casualties along the way will be too great. Who's taking responsibility for that?"

She didn't care about the lives of ordinary people, but accountability had to be clarified beforehand. She wouldn't take responsibility for bloodshed and tears.

"Ross! General Ross will take responsibility for the whole thing!" Fury gave out a scapegoat.

Daisy found it amusing. She wondered how the old man Ross is always self-righteous, but at this point, he was just a pawn being controlled, right?

Since someone would be held accountable, she didn't care how many people died. People of Virginia! Your beloved Hulk is back!

Turning a sharp angle, Daisy, now near North Carolina, flew northward again, back to Virginia.

Though it was unfortunate, Daisy still tried to control the casualties. She controlled her flight path to mostly follow the same route back.

Since the houses had already collapsed, a few more pieces wouldn't matter, and maybe the insurance companies would be more lenient to settle claims.

The cars were flattened like pancakes earlier, so another squish won't matter much.

As for those who've already bitten the dust, they probably wouldn't mind being squashed by the big green feet again.

The journey back was much smoother because someone was there to assist her.

A billboard was hurled at Daisy, the tremendous force causing it to produce a series of sonic booms as it flew through the air.

The attacker's angle was calculating; if she retreated, she'd be caught by the Hulk. Daisy had to use her short-range teleportation to dodge the ambush, finally getting a chance to look down.

Standing at the same height of two meters and weighing a few hundred pounds, this muscular brute had some differences in skin tone compared to the Hulk. This guy below had a slightly yellowish complexion, and there was a faint smell emanating from him.

Was this Blonsky? Daisy was a bit speechless. How did this guy become so ugly? The Hulk, ignoring the purple shorts, had muscles that looked full of violence, looking cool and aesthetic from a distance, Blonsky's appearance fell short.

His bones should have been reinforced, but only part of his muscle had been enhanced. Daisy estimated that his energy had been depleted, leaving him in a semi-finished state. Fortunately, Blonsky still had the Super Soldier Serum in his body, and the combination of the two produced a new mutation.

Unlike the Hulk's transformation, which included growing hair, this guy was completely bald, not a single hair in sight.

His bones had grown thicker and larger, now resembling a layer of bone armor covering his body. And because of this bone armor, his muscles were encased within. Unlike the Hulk, who had the artifact pants, this guy appeared to have nothing below the waist...

For the sake of becoming stronger, he not only lost his hair but also became a eunuch...

"You... come down!" Blonsky's voice was extremely hoarse, as if he had been burnt.

He had put in a lot of effort to pursue the Hulk.

Immediately after completing his transformation, he jumped out, ready to battle the Hulk. Unfortunately, Daisy intervened, pulling the Hulk away in a flash, leaving him empty-handed.

Blonsky's transformation was incomplete, and he was inferior to the Hulk in speed, endurance, and various other aspects. After chasing for a few steps, he was left far behind.

This made him furious.

However, his intelligence and experience were still intact, and after a moment's thought, he understood Daisy's intentions. If you want to take the Hulk away, then I'll bring him back!

Attack the enemy where they're most vulnerable; as an experienced veteran, Blonsky understood this principle well. He vented his anger on the Pentagon.

While the Hulk's previous rampage was just a breakout with minimal damage, Blonsky's attack was like tearing down buildings and killing people. He was also getting familiar with his newfound strength. Since he didn't plan to stay in the military anyway, to hell with generals and colonels!

Colonel Stryker of the Weapon X Program was still in the Canadian mountains, too far away. By the time he arrived, everything would be too late. The Pentagon had to call for Nick Fury's help again.

While Daisy was pulling the Hulk back, they happened to run into Blonsky.

Blonsky recognized Daisy too, and seeing this woman still able to fly, he felt a bit nervous, not because he feared Daisy, as he saw himself as almost as strong as the Hulk.

But because the world seemed a bit different from what he remembered.
