Chapter 162 - Emergency Meeting

The basic particles that conduct interactions in magnetism are photons. Photons serve as the medium for electromagnetic conduction, and by multiplying the Planck constant by the frequency of light waves, photons can be obtained.

Photons possess wave-particle duality. They exhibit characteristics of both particles, with discrete properties, and waves, similar to sound waves.

Daisy's control over magnetism requires a two-step process. First, she seems to transform into Lorna's eyes, violently vibrating to the frequency of light waves, generating photons and positive and negative charges. Then, she uses the vibration wavelength to manipulate magnetism.

When comparing particles alone, electromagnetic repulsion is 10^42 times stronger than gravity. There's no comparison between the two. However, the application range of magnetism is far inferior to that of gravity. Gravity is not to be underestimated; even light can be absorbed, and the strength of gravity synchronizes with mass, showing great potential.

But at the current stage, for Daisy, magnetism surpasses gravity by far, and she's only able to control it with considerable effort.

"Pay close attention." Daisy performed magnetism in front of Lorna, feeling extremely satisfied with herself.

Unfortunately, her control is a bit lacking. Otherwise, she would definitely go perform in front of Magneto.

A coin is effortlessly lifted, flying in the predetermined direction, and finally landing in Lorna's palm.

Feeling the familiar force, Lorna feels a bit dizzy. "Can you control that kind of force on me too? Aren't you controlling gravity?"

Daisy smiles without answering. First, she applied gravity to Lorna, a force the latter is familiar with. Then, she applied a small magnetic field to let the magnetic field control her flight, which Lorna was even more familiar with.

Carefully feeling the subtle changes in magnetism, Lorna felt like she understood something.

"Practice on your own." It was difficult for Daisy to control a living person's flight with magnetism. Her control of magnetism needs further optimization before entering the combat stage. She quickly exit the magnetic state and lazily went to rest on the side.

...

Vacation time is always short-lived. The one-month vacation after rescuing Stark quickly came to an end, and Nick Fury urgently summoned all senior agents to headquarters, and Daisy drove directly to work.

Walking into S.H.I.E.L.D., she met Hill head-on.

"Oh? Are you also summoned?"

"Yeah, I wonder if I can try out the new powers this time," Hill says with a meaningful look. She specifically returned from the New Zealand mothership to Washington, which is not a short distance.

Daisy knows she wants to try out the power of the White Tiger amulet, but she poured some cold water on it. While the amulet might seem powerful to ordinary people, it's far from invincible.

Walking past, they see many senior agents gathering. Fury and Hill have a mentor-mentee like relationship, and Daisy knows Hill probably has a lot of inside information. She whispered, "What's going on that Fury had to summon so many people?"

Hill looked around and said, "It's about the green giant. General Ross is formally issuing a letter through the Pentagon, requesting S.H.I.E.L.D. to send capable officers for assistance."

Hearing this, Daisy laughed directly. "Haha, dispatching capable soldiers means that the last time they sent over was just a bunch of losers!"

Hill coughed and elbowed her. Daisy turns around to find Victoria Hand standing not far behind them, watching them.

Considering the old woman an enemy has always been Daisy's policy, but it's also a helpless move.

The so-called S.H.I.E.L.D. faction and Hydra faction are very united, with fixed positions. The neutral faction is chaotic internally, giving Daisy the space to maneuver. Only by integrating the power of Victoria Hand's faction could she have a chance to swallow up both the S.H.I.E.L.D. and Hydra factions.

A director appointed by superiors can only maintain their position temporarily. Without their own trusted subordinates, once the superior's stance changes, they have to step down obediently.

In the original timeline, Daisy Johnson, Maria Hill, Tony Stark, and even Norman Osborn have all served as directors, but their tenures were short-lived. The main reason was the lack of support from middle and lower-level agents.

Now, Daisy not only has to confront Victoria Hand but also needs to go all out against her!

She sneered, "Exactly, losing soldiers and generals. Twelve agents lost their lives, why don't some people just resign?"

Victoria Hand, who had originally intended to briskly walk past them, was infuriated. She really, really disliked Daisy, a wild woman who seemed to have come out of nowhere! The two of them naturally clashed, and the minor conflicts accumulated into major ones.

"Did you complete your mission brilliantly? I heard that Tony Stark escaped on his own! You didn't even see his kidnappers! You're simply a disgrace to S.H.I.E.L.D.!"

"Nonsense! You act like you've seen the Hulk, huh? Did you watch him from two miles away using military satellites?"

"Even so, it's better than a person like you who didn't even see the kidnappers!..."

The two pointed at each other, although Daisy was mostly acting, but something like affinity between people, whether it exists or not, Daisy and Victoria Hand are not compatible, and this thing is not difficult to guess.

The passing agents saw the two exchanging information and exposing each other's dark secrets.

Hill felt extremely awkward. She thought that if she avoided the situation, it would seem like she was too unjust. Her relationship with Daisy couldn't be retreated from. However, to ask her to help in beating someone wasn't in line with her character. Caught in a dilemma, she chose to pretend she hadn't seen or heard anything.

"We're all colleagues; be careful with your words..." When Victoria Hand brought up the unclear source of funds for Daisy's mansion, Hill finally couldn't hold back.

In her view, Daisy had plenty of flaws, but her ability to make money was unquestionable. Buying a mansion was no big deal, and Victoria Hand's words seemed like an attempt to smear Daisy.

In a two-against-one situation, Victoria Hand's momentum plummeted. She looked around and forcibly dragged a bald guy passing by towards them. It was none other than Daisy's old acquaintance, the bald brother, Jasper Sitwell.

"Agent Sitwell, do you have evidence of someone's unclear financial sources?" she asked with a stern tone.

The bald brother looked utterly dumbfounded. He had been walking perfectly fine, and now he was dragged into an argument!

As a member of Hydra, he had enough on his plate, and getting involved in such trivial matters was annoying. He could only help mediate the situation. Hill also felt she had gone too far earlier, so she joined in to help reconcile the situation.

It wasn't until they entered Nick Fury's large office that their quarrel finally subsided.

The bald brother wiped the cold sweat off his forehead. Director Pierce glared at him coldly, implying, 'How did you get involved with the neutral faction? Do you still want to keep your job?'

Daisy assessed the scene, feeling a heavy atmosphere in the room. Nick Fury's office was filled with all the senior agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., all elites with a level of seven or above.

Many of them were long-term base commanders stationed abroad, and they were all called back together.
