Chapter 151 - Poor Daisy

===================

It has to be said this condition is not bad. It's not easy for Daisy to earn her hard-earned money, and it makes her feel heartache when throwing hundreds of millions of dollars at Stark.

For Stark, this amount of money is a drop in the bucket, but for her, it's her entire fortune...

But she also felt it was a bit low to be knocked down by money.

Pepper knows Stark quite well and considers she knows Daisy to some extent. In her view, this supercomputer thing is just too expensive. It's not something you need unless you're a super-consortium or a national laboratory.

Although she doesn't know what Daisy needs the supercomputer for, she can imagine Daisy doesn't have enough funds at her disposal.

She quickly calculated and whispered to Daisy, "The mid-term costs are probably around 200 million dollars."

Daisy's expression soured a bit. She didn't want to bend over for money, but making money nowadays is too hard!

The script for "Life of Pi" was rejected. The Council thought the script had nothing to do with S.H.I.E.L.D., and they weren't willing to invest a penny.

The rumored wealthy Black Panther and Storm went to the UK. The Black Prince said he wanted to experience life, but in reality, he's just spreading love with Storm in the UK. Daisy has a hard time asking him for money to make movies because he simply doesn't have money!

Without the "income source" from movie production funds, she can only patiently wait for her share from the theaters and the small consultancy fees from a few companies that Skye Data works with.

If she had just come to this world, hundreds of thousands or millions would have excited her enough to stay up all night. But now, she's grown indifferent.

Just hundreds of thousands! In the face of this huge money-eating monster like a supercomputer, that amount of money is not even enough to get stuck in your teeth.

This shorting of Stark is her only chance. The three hundred million dollars in her hand can be said to be her entire fortune.

So poor, so poor!

Seeing she was somewhat tempted, Tony Stark used a new trick.

He took out a piece of paper and read aloud to the camera, "Tony Stark is vulgar and lustful, lacks tolerance, acts without any foresight, and is very unorganized. He is very harsh on employees, lacking team spirit..."

He rattled on. At first, Daisy thought he was going to make some self-criticism, but as she listened, it sounded more and more familiar. Then she remembered, isn't this the report she wrote for Nick Fury after meeting Stark for the first time? Did she write five hundred words or eight hundred words? Was there a compliment in it?

500+ words aren't long. Stark's face turned sour after reading it. He waved the printed paper in his hand, "Have a serious fight with me, and I won't care about this."

Daisy didn't know if this report was given to him by her jerk boss or if he hacked in to see it himself. Either way, being caught badmouthing someone behind their back made her feel a bit embarrassed.

Fair to say, that Stark has changed a lot since coming back from Afghanistan. Maybe he still has the fault of pride and arrogance, but he has turned from a slut who seemed to stay the clouds into a mature, responsible man.

Not backing down, Daisy showed no weakness, "Have you asked Colonel Rhodes who assisted him in saving you? Have you asked Coulson who saved Pepper from mercenaries?"

Gaining a little verbal advantage, she managed to win the verbal round smoothly.

She kept weighing it in her mind and finally decided to agree.

Regardless of the outcome, win or lose, it doesn't matter. Just consider it as exercise after a meal.

"All right, I accept your challenge. But remember, you're responsible for compensating for all the damaged materials due to the fight."

"You're going to fight Tony? With his Iron Man suit?" Only after the conversation did Pepper ask the doubt in her mind. She felt either Stark and Daisy were being stupid together, or there was some code language between them for kinky things.

In her speculation, it's definitely the latter. Who has nothing better to do than to fight in an Iron Man suit?

Seeing Pepper's expression of disbelief, Daisy could only float in mid-air, indicating that she was not a weak chicken.

Pepper covered her mouth, her face full of disbelief.

"You have superpowers? Have you always had them?"

Daisy scratched her head, tacitly admitting the fact.

Pepper wanted to watch the fight, but both Stark and Daisy refused her.

Stark mentioned that the scene was too dangerous.

Daisy also expressed similar concerns, saying that aerial combat would be fine, but if it involved ground combat, she couldn't guarantee anything. After persuading the assistant for a while, she finally dispelled the idea of watching.

She went back to her residence for a meal, played with Dumpling for a while, and then watched Maid Maki feeding carrots to the rhinoceros with great interest. When Stark announced he was almost there, she leisurely changed into her S.H.I.E.L.D. special agent combat suit, put on wrist guards, and arrived at the agreed-upon battle location.

There's no way around it; this guy Stark just loves staying in Los Angeles and occasionally flying between the East and West Coasts.

Even with the powerful propulsion of the Iron Man suit, flying over four thousand kilometers still takes two hours.

Daisy waited for another twenty minutes, and this so-called "almost there" guy finally made a "whoosh" sound and arrived at their chosen battlefield. It was a very open and desolate area that wouldn't be captured by satellites.

"How about it? My latest upgraded version." Stark's voice came from the faceplate, almost without distortion, as if the two were communicating face to face.

Daisy carefully examined the armor. She couldn't recognize which Mark it was, but it was painted in a bright red color, with golden accents on the upper arms, thighs, and faceplate. The lines were elegant, full of a metallic feel. Stark had fully utilized his talent in mechanical engineering to create this weapon, filled with a violent aesthetic.

It was two points more beautiful than when he fought the Iron Tyrant, but still not as stunning as during the Avengers. Many details were handled too hastily, such as stability during flight, and the shoulder shotgun device that only killed a few soldiers.

In Daisy's opinion, Stark's armor before the Avengers was not that strong, and that was the main reason she agreed to the fight.

"It looks good." In her eyes, this armor was just okay.

Sensing her insincerity, Stark landed on the ground and snorted, "Can you dodge bullets?" At the same time, the shotgun device on his shoulder popped out. In fact, he was still quite cautious, afraid that Daisy wouldn't catch them. In his worldview, humans dodging bullets still happen only in movies.

"You can try!"

Stark fired three bullets, but their trajectories deviated from her body. Daisy moved two steps to the left, and with ease, she deflected the three bullets with her silver wrist guards.

Stark lifted the faceplate, looking somewhat surprised, "What material is your wrist guard made of? This metal looks..."

"Vibranium! The same metal as Captain America's shield. Come on, I'm running out of time!" After saying this, Daisy floated into the air, ready to start the fight.

Stark lowered the faceplate, pressed down with both hands and soared into the sky using the hand propulsion system.
