Daisy talked about the dangers of Mandarin, not feeling that she was exaggerating. One person could destroy an entire city, and Mandarin was fully capable of such a feat. Despite losing a ring, it didn't significantly impact his strength.
During the previous angry pursuit, Mandarin had already started using combination techniques, such as combining fire and ice or lightning and hurricanes.
Apart from being mentally unstable, he had almost no weaknesses.
"He's moody, unpredictable, and highly destructive," Daisy made a fair assessment.
Fury nodded slightly, "This enemy is now buried under the Himalayas. What do you think is his chance of survival?"
"Himalayas?"
"Yes." Nick Fury sent her some pictures. Daisy examined them carefully. The satellite images were clear – Mandarin seemed to suddenly disconnect, falling from the sky and disappearing into the deep snow of the mountains, who knows how deep.
Daisy has always admired the survival skills of villains, based on her instincts, she didn't believe Himalayas could kill Mandarin. However, considering sending Shield troops in there, many international political factors had to be taken into account.
"I think he's still alive. Perhaps we can send a small team to search..." she suggested.
Fury didn't hesitate, shaking his head directly, "This matter ends here. Classified as Level 10. Agent Johnson, have a good rest." He then ended the call.
Seeing that there was nothing more to do here, Black Widow was about to leave Kandahar; she had many tasks ahead.
"Natasha, wait." Daisy quickly stopped Black Widow; she had something to ask her.
"What is it?"
"Help me bandage...," she made a strange request.
Black Widow looked her up and down, implying, Where are you injured?
"Yesterday, I was seriously injured." Daisy vaguely explained. Black Widow understood – it was to conceal her superhuman physique.
It was a simple matter; disguise and makeup were her specialties.
After covering Daisy in various bandages and gauze, creating bruises on her face and arms, an hour of effort made it look convincing.
"No scars on your body? Your physique is really good," Black Widow commented before leaving.
With her new appearance, Daisy, leaning on a cane, strolled around the SHIELD contact point. The agents quickly urged her to go back and rest, as her current appearance from a distance looked as if she had been run over by a truck – too miserable. The agents were practically saying you better go back and recover.
Returning trembling to her room, Daisy immediately discarded the cane, took her equipment, and teleported to the place where she first encountered Mandarin.
The yellow sand filled the air, and everything was identical to that moment.
After driving for half a day and now just teleporting in the blink of an eye, the power of abilities is evident here.
After identifying the direction, she began running through areas like valleys and tree shadows that could shield military satellite surveillance. When there was no cover, she used short-range teleportation. Her target was the location where the Global Hawk lost contact that day.
Making a special trip back, Daisy just wanted to see if Mandarin had left behind any manuals of his techniques or the cultivation experiences of ancient chi cultivators. Even if there were no manuals, instructions on how to use the ring would suffice!
The sensation of needles pricking her didn't reappear, and the surroundings didn't give her any signals of danger. After running for fifteen minutes, she saw the fragments of the Global Hawk.
This unmanned drone, measuring 13 meters in length, 4 meters in height, and with a wingspan of 35 meters, seemed to have been snapped in half at the waist. The scene displayed numerous traces left behind after an explosion, with debris covering an area of about 800 meters in radius.
"What's in here?" Daisy looked around. To the north was the direction of Kandahar, and to the south were two mountains, with what seemed like a small path in between leading into the distance.
The surroundings were unremarkable, and she couldn't discern any clue.
Daisy connected to the artificial intelligence Danger and transmitted the landing points of the drone's fragments, calculating its flight direction and crash site.
The calculation results showed that the drone crashed between those two mountains.
Daisy observed carefully for two minutes and smiled.
It's unclear whether this was science or illusion, there was actually another invisible mountain between the two mountains, entirely unseen by the naked eye.
The drone crashed into the invisible peak, causing it to explode and alerting Mandarin, who had been in seclusion.
She looked around but couldn't find an entrance or exit.
Without knowing anything about the situation inside, it was risky to teleport in, so she had to resort to stupid methods.
She employed a traditional skill with a long history, and a well-known intangible cultural heritage. It was a skill she had learned two years ago in Puerto Rico but never used until now – creating a secret passage!
Now with her extraordinary abilities, she didn't need a shovel to dig. Pressing her hands to the ground, she used vibrations to shake the soil loose. Twenty minutes later, she created a slanting tunnel leading downwards and smashed a large hole in the invisible mountain.
She carefully jumped down.
Her feet landed on a brick-and-stone structure, and she surveyed her surroundings.
The interior space of the mountain was small, like a pagoda, with five levels. Currently, she is on the third level.
She went up to the top two levels first and found only clothes, knives, saddles, and the like.
Daisy picked up a glittering curved knife with jewels embedded in the scabbard. It looked valuable, but the material of the blade left her somewhat disappointed. It might have been powerful in ancient times, but compared to modern special steel, it didn't seem impressive.
With a swish, her nails transformed into the claws blessed by the Panther Goddess. She removed all the gemstones from the scabbard, pocketing them. They might fetch a good price later, but as for the broken knives, swords, and saddles – whoever wanted them could take them.
She gained a lot on the fourth level.
The walls were covered with densely written texts, including Chinese, Mongolian, and Manchu...
Daisy, who had never been gifted in languages, scratched her head. Her Chinese handwriting was sloppy, she could understand a small part of Mongolian through guessing and the rest could be translated by a machine, but as for Manchu, she was a bit dumbfounded – is this also a language?
But she didn't care about the details. She began shooting the wall, whether it was manuals of techniques or any random stories Mandarin might have written during his leisure time. She planned to take them back for further study.
She searched the fifth level but found nothing.
It turned out that Mandarin had trained his skills and body quite well. The hermitage had no food, indicating he had been fasting for a long time.
Daisy returned to the surface. Injecting shockwaves continuously into the ground with her hands, accumulating and compressing energy, she released the accumulated energy in a burst when she couldn't control it anymore. A seismic event equivalent to a magnitude 7 earthquake buried the invisible mountain and its interior structure deep underground.
Afghanistan is a place with many mountains and earthquakes. This was a desolate and uninhabited place. Not under the control of the U.S. military, and with no special means or purposes, nobody would come to search these barren hills and wild mountains.
