The invisible shockwave, intangible and formless, began to reverberate in the room. Accompanied by her breathing, it started operating in a peculiar manner. Like the normal fluctuations in nature, though unseen, it always existed.
Daisy, following her own understanding, carefully mimicked the chi, attempting to resonate with thier experiences and create her own chi.
It's a pity that pure imitation is still fragmentary imitation, unable to glimpse the accumulated efforts of Kunlun's elite over several generations. Three attempts at imitation were abruptly interrupted just after starting out for various reasons just as they were starting.
Just as she was about to give up, a small accident happened.
Her shockwave ability sensed a mental fragment, very subtle and helpless.
At that moment, within her surroundings, the only one detectable by the shockwave frequency was Madame Viper.
Daisy witnessed numerous life scenes resembling a stream of consciousness.
Adult memories were scarce, mostly depicting a fragile young girl silently crying in the shadows. The feeling of being lonely and abandoned, as if she might die in the next second, resonated with Daisy, and she couldn't help but feel a sense of sympathy.
Relying on this trace of connection, she discovered a slight resonance with that lonely girl. In scientific terms, their mental powers experienced a minor resonance. According to those with abilities, she had just successfully performed telepathy.
Daisy felt her consciousness stretched like a noodle, numerous unrelated events that did not belong to her passing before her eyes at a speed surpassing her thoughts. She could only passively receive.
"Ah!" When she finally sat up from the illusion, she checked her watch and found that three hours had passed.
Exhausted, her whole body was fatigued, her brain heavy and dizzy. She had gained a lot of scattered knowledge.
More importantly, she noticed a change in Madame Viper. Even though they were enemies, at best enemies who had struck a deal, even rescuing her hadn't changed that.
However, in Daisy's perception, they had now diminished some hostility. Although far from being friends, Viper was no longer as hostile towards her anymore.
"So uncomfortable!" Daisy's head throbbed, her consciousness not very clear. After she closed off her sense of the outside world, it gradually eased the discomfort.
Carefully sorting through memories, she not only saw Madame Viper's childhood but also glimpsed a part of her youth.
In her memories, in addition to the pain and hardship, there was a lot of knowledge she had learned—chemical toxins, biological poisons, and various deadly substances developed for the human body. Some Daisy recognized, others she had never seen. And these were just a portion of Madame Viper's memories when she was young; her current skills with poisons were undoubtedly more powerful.
Their mental resonance provided Daisy with some basic knowledge of poisons and antidotes. It seemed like a suitable exchange for her. Knowing more about poison is always correct.
Alongside the knowledge, whether it was an illusion or not, Daisy felt like she had shared some burden of Madame Viper's sickness. In return, Madame Viper's mental state slowly improved.
Daisy occasionally helped her cool down with ice towels. A whole night passed before her high fever finally subsided.
Leaving for a meal and buying some food, Daisy returned to the hotel, finding that the beautiful snake was taking a bath. After waiting for a while, she saw the other party walking out very "frankly"
Seeing her come back after going, Madame Viper was somewhat surprised, but she quickly regained composure.
"What's up? Thinking of giving up on S.H.I.E.L.D. and taking refuge with me?"
Daisy glanced at her, and she had to say that this beautiful viper had a really good body. The women she has seen, of course including herself, I'm afraid that only Black Widow could compare with Madame Viper in terms of body. Herself, Hill, Mariko, and Miss Maid are more or less inadequate.
Gently pushing her away, she thought that if she had encountered such a "frank" woman when she first crossed over, she would really not be able to hold back. Now that she and Hill have tested each other and become experienced cadres, she can be more calm.
"Put on your clothes, I need to discuss something with you."
Madame Viper showed no abnormality, gracefully putting on a bathrobe and taking a seat across from her. Although they weren't far apart, she pulled out a cigarette and asked, "You don't mind, do you?"
Daisy waved her hand, indicating that she didn't mind.
"Aren't you afraid I might use poisonous smoke?"
"I didn't sense any malice from you. I choose to trust you," she said frankly. In reality, manufacturing poisonous smoke wasn't that easy! The process of creating toxins spread through the air was complex, and incorporating them into cigarettes, whether through drying or roasting, required a considerable amount of time.
Viper was brought here by her yesterday and she only had a few pieces of clothes, the cigarette she had was clearly just purchased.
"Not fun." Seeing that Daisy wasn't falling for it, Madame Viper sighed lightly, lit her cigarette, and took a satisfying drag.
"Alright, spill it. What's the matter?" she asked.
The two now had a trace of trust. Although it was fragile, there was the potential for communication, it was a good sign.
"I want to kill Madame Gao, and I need your assistance," Daisy got straight to the point, revealing her purpose.
"Madame Gao? The old lady from the Hand?" Viper's expression changed slightly, a mix of ease and mockery.
Daisy nodded.
"Is she a wanted by S.H.I.E.L.D.?"
"She's my enemy."
Questions and answers flew swiftly between them.
Madame Viper's curiosity was piqued. "From what I know, Madame Gao keeps a low profile. How did she manage to provoke you, the rising star of S.H.I.E.L.D.?"
Actually, many people had asked this question, but Daisy had only explained it to Hill. Now, she summarized the story again.
In essence, it's nothing more that Madame Gao had an inflated sense of self-importance, thinking Daisy was an ant she could casually trample. As the situation escalated, a seemingly casual glance on the roadside brought enormous trouble to both parties.
Madame Gao feared Daisy's rising influence in S.H.I.E.L.D., and by personally intervening, she hoped to kill her as quickly as possible.
Daisy was also suffocating to kill the old lady. The two were in irreconcilable conflict.
"Haha, this old thing, she cracks me up!" Madame Viper burst into laughter halfway through. Though she hadn't read internet novels about "Don't Bully the Poor Youth, Thirty Years in Hedong and Thirty Years in Hexi" she could sense the thick sense of conflict in this story, and found it amusing.
"So, you joined S.H.I.E.L.D. because of this?" she laughed, covering her mouth.
Initially, Daisy had just wanted to explore the mysteries of the Tesseract. However, those who understood the general course of events, such as Nick Fury and Director Stacy, had concluded that Daisy joined S.H.I.E.L.D. to hide Madame Gao.
This interpretation is reasonable, no one could find any faults in it, so Daisy just started to go with this statement.
Madame Viper laughed heartily, finding joy in others' misfortune, and Daisy could see her things trembling from the side of the bathrobe. It took some while for the snake-like woman to regain her composure.
