Chapter 65 - Conditions

===================

Seeing Daisy's slender palm pressing against her skin again, Viper couldn't hold back any longer.

"I'll talk, I'll talk!"

Madame Viper carefully weighed her options, licked her dry lips, and said, "Someone within your S.H.I.E.L.D. wants you dead."

Daisy was slightly stunned, but the news was reasonable, although it did not match what she wanted to know, she continued to inquire, "Who is it?"

In her eyes, suspects included not only the former S.H.I.E.L.D. director Alexander Pierce, the bald brother Sitwell, or even Grant Ward, who gained fame due to the Jurassic Park incident.

However, they couldn't command Madame Viper to be an assassin. Madame Viper would be titled Madame Hydra in the future. Her actual position within Hydra was even higher than Pierce's. She was a proper leader.

Which branch manager instructs a director to do things? The logic didn't add up.

Daisy was afraid Madame Viper would spray venom, so she stood behind her, gently stroking her perfect back with her fingers, and asked again, "Who ordered you to kill me?"

Madame Viper felt uncomfortable, being stroked on the back by the same sex, the physical discomfort was secondary, the key point was that she was afraid of Daisy's further shock.

Thinking carefully in her heart, who's head she should throw this blame?

As a woman, she can reach the highest level in an organization Hydra by her looks and seductions, she didn't want to betray Pierce and the others.

Soon, a candidate came to her mind. Pretending to be unable to endure further 'torture', she said in a frustrated tone, "Maria Hill! She assigned the task to have me kill you."

Who? Daisy almost thought she had misheard. She felt a little dumbfounded for the first time, she quickly realized that the other person was trying to fool her.

Although Hill often shouted things like "I'm dying! I'm dying!" when they were alone, it was obviously not the same thing.

Besides, could Hill contact the high-ranking members of Hydra? It would be better to say that Nick Fury and Baron Strucker were good friends. One of them blinded in the left eye and the other in the right eye, forming a perfect pair of friends!

Daisy now gained a new understanding of this woman who talked nonsense with her mouth full.

With a thoughtful tone, she asked, "Maria Hill and I get along well. Why would she send someone to kill me?"

Madame Viper couldn't see Daisy's expression, thinking she had succeeded, and quickly explained, "Because you robbed her of the deputy position. She's resentful in her heart, so she wanted to use an outsider to strike first."

Daisy didn't expect the other person to come up with such a story in such a bad way. Puzzled, she said, "I took her deputy position? Why don't I know?"

"Nick Fury has a set of secret files, and currently, you are the first in the priority of the files. You're someone very valuable to him."

As if afraid that Daisy wouldn't believe her, Madame Viper recounted all the intelligence she had, except for hiding Pierce's identity, everything else was true.

As for how she obtained the information, Madame Viper was clever, with a proud expression on her face, told a story of seducing high-ranking S.H.I.E.L.D. officials.

If one didn't know the actual situation, you could really be fooled.

Daisy thought for a moment. The idea that Hill wanted to kill her was one hundred percent false, and she was confident she wasn't mistaken about that.

However, the revelation that Nick Fury valued her was unexpected.

She had always thought of herself as just a bystander.

Although S.H.I.E.L.D. was a broken house, it was still a house. Having high clearance would make it much easier to do anything.

Madame Viper couldn't see Daisy's expression, but she knew her words had an impact, and that was good. She was really afraid of this shock interrogation! She carefully considered her words, realizing this was her only chance to escape.

"Let me go. My connections can help you quickly climb the ranks within S.H.I.E.L.D. You must know my connections are not bad and my charm is still good..."

Huh? Daisy found this phrase very familiar. After a moment of recollection, wasn't this the same thing she used to fool the bald brother Sitwell initially?

To be honest, having Hydra's help in climbing the ranks would be quick, but unfortunately, there was no foundation of trust between them.

At this point, she could ask about the destination of the Yashida family's supplies, but that was official business, and she wasn't too concerned.

She thought of another matter, a personal one. She needed Hydra to provide her with some information.

She approached Madame Viper again, saying, "Sorry, I don't believe you."

"I can swear, swear in my parents' name, that I won't hold today against you." Madame Viper's eyes were full of determination, and it was clear she wasn't lying.

Daisy still didn't believe her. It sounded good—won't hold today against you. In reality, they were still enemies, just caught in a textual trap.

"I will let you go, but there's a condition."

"Speak." Madame Viper was exceptionally serious; she knew the crucial moment had arrived.

"Help me find someone, and then accompany me to a place. That's the condition for your release."

Silence fell over the scene. After half a minute, Madame Viper finally asked, "Who is this person?"

Daisy took out her tablet and quickly tapped a few times before handing it over, saying, "Eric Killmonger."

Initially, Madame Viper was concerned that Daisy might be trying to find the leaders of Hydra to gain credit by killing one of them and using the opportunity to climb within S.H.I.E.L.D. Seeing that it was just a black man eased her concerns by a large margin.

Despite Hydra being a global organization, it adhered to the principles of Aryan racial superiority, and there were almost no black individuals inside!

Examining the photo carefully, Madame Viper confirmed that she didn't recognize this black man.

Daisy continued, "He graduated from the University of Annapolis at the age of nineteen, then obtained a master's degree from MIT. He served in the Navy SEALs, participating in operations in Afghanistan and Iraq, among other places. His unit has a high level of secrecy and it's highly classified, and I can't locate his specific position. I need you to bring him to me."

Finding a living person with a name and surname should not be difficult, but this guy was involved in the operations of a secretive military unit. S.H.I.E.L.D. and the military had different jurisdictions, making it challenging for Daisy to locate him with her current resources.

However, Hydra was different; they had significant infiltration in high places, and with dedicated effort, there would surely be information available.

Madame Viper wasn't planning to lie about small details and risk ruining the current good conversation atmosphere.

"This isn't difficult. As long as this person is still on Earth, I can find him. What about afterward? Where do you want to go?"

Afterward, of course, she would go to Wakanda! But Daisy couldn't reveal that now. She was taking Madame Viper along, first, to have a helper and, second, to later shift the blame to Hydra.

Her initial plan was straightforward: Madame Viper went to cause trouble, and Daisy would coincidentally be the good person, reaping both monetary rewards and friendship. Then, she would return to New York in joy. Of course, this was the most ideal scenario, and the specific plan required further planning.

As for what would happen afterward, whether the Wakanda people and the Japanese branch of Hydra would fight in a fierce conflict with rivers of blood, she simply didn't care at all.
