Their leader has been in a coma since that battle, as much as it was time to relax since the battle was over, they couldn't bring themselves to drop their guards. Perhaps from the fear that a little less caution would spring up a new opponent from the dark. On top of that, they couldn't trust any of these villagers. After hearing that the Demon had been defeated, they had only shown a little sign of grateful then little by little their attitudes towards them turned into apprehension. It was not hard to suspect they would try something stupid if they dropped their guard, thus the group remained geared up.
