The first rays of sunlight stretched across the horizon, painting the sky with a soft, warm glow. A cool breeze swept through the fortress, slipping between the stone walls and breathing life into the structure. It seemed as though the wind was sweeping away the remnants of the night, preparing the grounds for a new day.

In his room, Seth groaned as the sun's rays pierced through the curtains. He buried his head under the sheets, hoping to extend the comfort of sleep for just a little longer. But nature had other plans.

A loud "Cock-a-doodle-doo!" rang out from outside, shattering the morning silence. One of the livestock birds, no doubt a particularly vocal one, was enthusiastically announcing the dawn. The shrill cry dragged Seth from his bed.

"By all the gods, I swear I'm going to strangle that damned bird…" he muttered through clenched teeth.
