Seth watched as the devouring flames lit up the battlefield from his vantage point on the hill. The icy wind whipped against his face, but he paid it no mind.
His eyes were fixed on the infernal scene below. The carnage was absolute.
Columns of black smoke rose to the heavens, while the remaining demons writhed in agony, their screams forming a macabre symphony.
He squinted toward the figure standing in the midst of the chaos. Cliff. The man had unleashed an attack of a magnitude Seth had never thought possible. He's changed, Seth thought, clenching his jaw. This was no longer the same man he once knew. A terrifying aura emanated from him, a mix of raw power and control. The flames surrounding Cliff seemed alive, almost sentient.
Seth tightened his fists. Part of him admired Cliff's transformation. Another part, however, couldn't shake a creeping apprehension. This power... does Cliff truly control it? Or does it control him?
