Once Cliff reached his destination, he soared above the forest, his bat-like wings fully extended. His descent was measured, each wingbeat calculated to maintain a precise trajectory.
"This landing might be rough. Brace yourself," he muttered vaguely, almost distracted.
Geb didn't get the chance to respond. About ten meters from the ground, Cliff released him, letting his subordinate drop freely.
Both landed flawlessly. Geb bent his knees to absorb the impact, his hands briefly brushing the ground to steady himself. Cliff, on the other hand, touched down with animalistic grace, instantly shifting back to his human form. His wings folded and disappeared within seconds, leaving his human features intact.
"Not my fault," he shrugged, shaking his head slightly. "I'm still working on perfecting my landings."
