Seth woke up in the darkness, the smell of mold and blood permeating the air, making every breath heavy and unpleasant. His arms were shackled above his head, the chains clinking ominously with every movement. A flickering light from a small torch barely revealed the contours of the cell he was in.

He blinked, trying to piece together the scattered fragments of his memory: the ambush, the screams of his comrades, the burning pain in his lower back when he had been struck from behind, then complete darkness. Now, he was here, alone, with a flurry of questions swirling in his mind. Was he the only survivor? Where were his companions?
