At first, the Soul Pact was just a simple method Cliff had used to bond with the half-ogres of the Orleth clan upon his arrival in the forest. Naively, he had set out with the goal of conquest: to absorb as many skills as possible. However, he quickly realized that this desire was vain and selfish.
Cliff had never considered the Soul Pact as something essential. He had simply used it to expand his troops, seeing it as a fair exchange between him and the clans. Honestly, he didn't feel strong enough to be recognized as a powerful being worth following. He was clumsy, sometimes naive, and lacked charisma and boldness—all the qualities needed to be a good leader.
He never imagined that his impulsive act would hold such value, capable of changing the course of a war.
