Chapter 1 - The Start Begins Now

Sebastion is known as a man who values his partner over everything—a boyfriend everyone wants.

For a relatively attractive man in both stature and appearance, being labelled as top-tier, you'd think he'd already have a man or woman by his side, but the only problem is that when he likes someone, he becomes a little too attached.

The way he thinks seems normal to him: the urge to want control and crave full authority in the relationship, following them from behind, stalking them home, and having the will to kill someone to get them—it all seems normal for him.

Now, in the present, he hasn't dated many people since it seems like a bother for him.

.

.

Standing at a bus station in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Sebastion scrolled through his phone to pass the time. Checking social media, scrolling through the internet—anything to keep him distracted.

As he looked up, a gust of wind took his hat, throwing it to the floor. He bent down and picked it up, and as he looked up, he saw a stunning girl standing there waiting with him.

She captivated him immediately; she had to be one of the prettiest girls he had seen. She felt like a breath of fresh air. She was of average height with a robust body; it was alluring, and she wore her hair up in a messy bun with two stands dangling in the wind blowing as the train passed.

She looked at her phone with an enchanting smile; it would reach her eyes, creating creases that would pair beautifully with her elegant and warm amber eyes. She had a smile that would make heads turn, which paused the chaos of the city for a moment.

She turned her head, looking at him. Their eyes met, they interlocked with each other, and he felt a fleeting destituteness, but as fast as they met, the faster they parted.

She turned around and started walking away, her slender legs flowing through the air.

She left, leaving him all alone at the bus stop in the cold dead of winter.

He was frantic, incensed, and in despair. He didn't want to lose her; he didn't want to lose that smile.

He didn't understand why he was so drawn to her, but he did know—he didn't want to leave her alone.

He thought to himself…

I'll make her mine…

As he closed the gap between them, anxiety gnawed at him. He questioned the rationality of his actions, yet an insatiable curiosity drew him closer, pulling him forward.

Each step echoed with the pounding of his own heart, a choir of beats that harmonised with the rhythmic click of Anya's boots against the pavement.

She suddenly stopped walking.

Questions dawned upon him, and sweat dripped down his face. Even in the wintery breeze, nothing could hide his nervousness. "Why am I doing this?" and "What's the point?" The questions angered him as he didn't know the answers.

Just as he took a step backwards, he heard a phone ring.

Bzzzz Bzzzz Bzzzz

She reached into her pocket and pulled out a phone way bigger than her hand.

"Hello, Anya speaking."

"Mum was admitted again? What happened?"

"That's good; is she doing alright?"

"I'll send a get-well-soon card; could you tell me the address and room number?"

"Thank you so much, Okie; goodbye."

She hung up the phone and typed in the address of the hospital that was near them.

Sebastion smiled. As she looked up to the sky, the moonlit night warmly traced her face, and she stared at the stars, seemingly counting them one by one, as she reached a hundred tears that formed and fell down her face.

She continued walking, and eventually, she ended up walking into a convenience store. She picked up a hot drink for the cold weather and a cute get-well-soon card.

Sebastion stood outside, waiting for her to leave. While waiting, he went onto his phone, and a random number texted him.

'Who're you waiting for?'

'Who is this?'

The number left him on read.

Anya stepped out of the store, muttering to herself. She was trying to come up with a good sentence to write down.

Sebastion was startled by her sudden appearance.

She carried her Chai latte in her hand while she carried the bag in her other.

She trotted down the alleyway, making her way home, She seemed happy… if you didn't see her face, that is, she was jolly, but…

She wasn't smiling…

As she turned the next corner, she grabbed her keys out of her pocket and held her drink. She looked both ways before she opened her gate.

Clink, it was open.

Clank, it was shut.

Sebastion pulled on the gate.

Clink, it was open...

She forgot to lock it.

He couldn't help but notice her house, which was large with a fenced-in yard.

The outside was stunning; the bright green hedges with snow sprinkled on top sat in her front yard, resting again. It went well with the dark grey panelling and snow-covered roof.

He snapped a picture of her house and mailbox before he wandered off to his house, which was far away, at least for now.

As he walked away, he looked at the surroundings of her house, which were barren, empty, old food markets, and deserted houses. Seb thought to himself, "Why does she live in a place like this?" He looked at one house in particular; it was an old white house with paint chipping off of it. The front steps looked about a decade old; if anyone stepped on them, they might have a chance of falling through.

The inside, from what you could see, wasn't bad; it had weird paintings on the wall, and an old lamp sat on a dresser in front of the window.

He thought nothing of it, but before he looked away, he noticed something else. It looked like someone was standing in the corner of the house, barely showing themselves but just enough to see a silhouette, but then...

He got another text.

'Can you see me?'

'I can. Who is this?'

'Don't worry, I just want your name.'

Seb pursed his lips and furrowed his brows. 'My name...' he said, looking back over at the figure. Even though he couldn't see the face, he sensed a sadistic smirk coming from the figure.

'Yes, I wanted your name.'

'Will you leave me alone after?'

'Sure, why not.'

'My name is Sebastion Bae.'

'Sounds good, Sebbie; see you around.'

'But didn't you say you'd leave me alone?'

'Promises are never kept.'
