Chapter 52 - Myth of Creation 13

Kahn slowly opened his eyes, still sleepy. He saw that he was back on Earth, a sign that Zenith had sent them both away. He looked around but couldn't find her.

"What happened..." he wondered.

He had considered several outcomes before falling asleep. After he unmasked, Zenith could have killed or harmed him in his sleep, abandoned him in the cosmos, forcibly awakened him, or even brought him back with her or waited in the cosmos to ask him for explanations. when he woke up. He didn't expect her to bring him back just to leave him stranded like that.

"Maybe she went to report me to Ei but didn't have the strength to drag me there, and so she left me there, where I would be easy to find?" he theorized.

He quickly abandoned this theory, which seemed a little too far-fetched, and decided that the best thing to do was simply to find her and ask her directly. Kahn imagined an infinity of invisible eyes to be able to observe the entire planet, but made them disappear when he realized that he could not find Zenith.

Obviously, the latter had asked someone to use Imagination to prevent Kahn from finding her easily, because Imagination was the only way to escape Kahn's sight, and Zenith was incapable of doing so. to use. He then began to travel the length and breadth of the world in the hope of finding Zenith, but she seemed to have vanished.

Finally, after a long and arduous search, he came to a small village nestled in a mountain, and he felt that something was wrong. During his research, having been excluded by humanity, Kahn had to disguise himself to interact with the different people he encountered, to help him find Zenith. But here, people seemed to have recognized him when he asked questions about Zenith, and therefore prevented him from entering:

"You have been excluded! How dare you come back here as if your crime never happened? Go away !" the village chief, a second-generation human, just like Kahn, shouted.

Kahn could see at first glance that none of them had a mastery of the Imagination even close to his own. Therefore, the only reason they were able to pierce his disguise: they knew that a man asking them about Zenith would likely be him. This therefore reinforced his certainty that his beloved was here.

"I just want you to let me see Zenith" Kahn said. "After that, I will leave without making a fuss"

"Let you see her?! Who do you think you are, her husband?! She doesn't want to see you, so get out of here now!" the leader shouted.

"She doesn't want to see me? I see, so she's really here"

The village chief bit his thumb for his stupidity and turned pale. Kahn was one of the most talented Imagination users to ever exist, who managed to kill an entire group of first generation humans with little difficulty to avenge his brother, even though the first generation humans, those created by Ei, were generally above the rest in terms of mastery of the Imagination.

Even physically, the village chief was intimidated by Kahn's imposing physique and his stony expression. He knew that no one in the village could stop him if he tried to enter by force.

Despite everything, Kahn made no attempt to force his way. He simply shouted towards the village:

"Zenith, it's me!" After you left me alone in the forest, I didn't stop looking for you for a single moment, just to see you again! I don't plan to force my entry, I will simply wait at the village gates for you to come see me, day after day. Even if you don't come, I will continue to wait for you, and be it if it is for eternity!"

With these words, he stood cross-legged at the entrance to the village. He waited in this position for a minute, then an hour, then one, two, three days, without ever seeing even a hair of his beloved.

Despite everything, Kahn continued to wait, a week, two weeks, a month, two months, a year and so on, without ever seeing Zenith. Unlike the time when it was she who tried to approach him and when he always took the trouble to send her away, he was only entitled to the treatment of silence. Despite everything, he wasn't the least bit angry because he knew he deserved this for his crimes, and more.

This woman who was originally just a copy and a puppet of Ei was now his only reason for living.

So he waited...

..

.

…and waited again, as in an unfair game where his turn to play to make amends would never come.
