Ei, Admon and Eva observed Future, who was already expanding throughout the Prime World, slowly but surely:
"I salute you, my creators" the concept said. "I am Future, I am the one who is all that will be, the one who represents the future of all things. Tell me, why did you give birth to me?"
The last sentence was directed at Admon, the main responsible for the creation of Future.
"Future, thank you for asking the question, we were just about to come to it, Admon replied. "It turns out that the Prime World is currently in a period of crisis because of the stories of humans. We intend to transport them to a separate world before repairing the damage caused, but as humans continue to Imagine constantly, new stories will continue to form, and their appearance will constantly create new damage"
"And so, you created me, Future, so that I could directly send these stories to this separate world before they even appeared in order to prevent any damage?"
"That's it" Ei confirmed.
Future, as a concept, had no definite physical form, but the three still had the strange impression of seeing him shaking his head with a distressed look:
"You, Ei, humans, you are nothing but greed" Future pitied. "These problems that you complain about only come from you and despite everything, you plan to relegate the burden of your mistakes to me? I don't agree, just because you created me in no way means I agree to fix your mistakes for eternity"
"Future, you must help us, everything that has been created so far depends on it, said Ei.
"So what ? That doesn't change the fact that it's your fault, and that it's therefore your duty to remedy to it, Future said. "Unless you plan to force me? If so, I would make sure that this world no longer has any future"
Ei and Admon were stunned by Future's behavior, but forced to recognize that they had no way to convince Future. In the end, it was Eva who resolved the situation:
"Future, you say it's not your problem, but are you sure about that?" she asked.
"What do you mean ?" Future asked back.
"You yourself say that you represent the future of all things, so if everything is destroyed, you will disappear too, right?" Eva asked.
"There is no certainty that I will disappear" Future retorted.
But his tone betrayed traces of uncertainty. Ei understood what Eva was trying to do and intervened in the conversation:
"But that also means that there is no certainty that you will not disappear" They said. "Think about it, if even you who represent the future cannot predict it, which of the two possibilities is the most probable in your opinion?"
"I… don't know…"
Future hesitated more and more. After a long discussion, Ei finally managed to convince Future. However, the latter still imposed a condition on him:
"You win, Ei, I agree to fulfill this duty" he said. "However, my current abilities will not allow me to do this, I absolutely need more power to have enough control over the stories, as well as this famous separate world that you intend to create"
Ei thus found himself faced with a new dilemma: if they refused, all previous negotiations would fall through and they would be back to the starting point.
But if he agreed to give Future more power and the latter became powerful enough to survive on his own, he would no longer have any reason to help them and it would amount to the same thing.
But by a happy coincidence, Name overheard their conversation and offered his help: it was then enough for Future to name himself the separate world where Ei and company were going to send the stories.
Future's power would not increase much, but his hold on this other world and on the stories would increase enough to compensate. This way, Ei no longer had to worry about Future betraying them after becoming too powerful. Future, realizing that his ploy had failed, finally accepted defeat:
"Good. This world that you are going to create will be the one where all the stories created by humanity will end, like a gigantic ocean of ideas, Future said. "In the future, a philosopher named Plato will leave his mark in the domain of ideas: thus, taking inspiration from him, this unlimited ocean of ideas will therefore be called the Platonic Sea"
