Chapter 137 - Chapter 137: The Most Charismatic

"What did I do?" Matthew had no idea what Vin Diesel was talking about, "You're being completely nonsensical."

Vin Diesel, completely ignoring the stares from the people around, said, "The thing about Universal Pictures not working with me after 'Fast & Furious'! Did you do it?"

Matthew scoffed, "Think about it with your bald head, can I influence Universal Pictures?"

It was a joke. If he could influence the decisions of the executives at Universal Pictures, there would be no need for him to play a minor role in the 'Fast & Furious' series.

But Vin Diesel's attitude did not change in the slightest.

When this bald man received the informal notice from Universal Pictures, he carefully considered it and thought over and over again, always feeling that someone was behind this, and the most likely person was Matthew Horn. After all, among those who had conflicts with him, only Matthew could be linked to the top levels of Universal Pictures.

Originally, Sean Daniel showed him a cold face for Matthew Horn, which must mean that Matthew Horn has a deep relationship with Sean Daniel, a producer who has a very close relationship with the production department of Universal Pictures!

Vin Diesel looked disdainful, "Afraid to own up to what you've done?"

"Ridiculous! Do people even need to bother plotting against you?"

Although no one came over to watch the excitement, everyone was paying attention to this side. Matthew raised his voice, "The crew starts shooting at eight, and you arrive at half past ten! You hide in the nanny van outside the studio to sleep, ignoring the crew's work! During shooting, you suddenly demand script changes, or else you threaten to quit shooting..."

In just a dozen seconds, Matthew laid out all of Vin Diesel's misdeeds.

"Who is this?" someone in the crowd asked, "His demands are even more outrageous than Harrison Ford's!"

"Where did he come from? Since when did Hollywood get another A-list superstar?"

Vin Diesel stood firm, as if he truly saw himself as an A-lister, justifying his actions as natural, and said with a booming voice, "I did just that! What can you do about it, you loser!"

Matthew glanced at him, his hands quietly clenched into fists. He hadn't forgotten the incidents on the 'Fast & Furious' set and had always wanted to punch this guy's bald head to see the effect.

Of course, he wouldn't be foolish enough to start a fight.

He shrugged slightly, "So, you're a genuine troublemaker on set!"

"What?" Vin Diesel was furious, "What did you say?"

He stepped forward, ready to start a fight. Matthew had been waiting for him to make a move. Vin Diesel had come over to provoke him, and if Vin Diesel was the one to start the fight, even the producer Sean Daniel and director Stephen Sommers wouldn't be able to say anything.

But before Vin Diesel could start, a tall and muscular man suddenly stepped between them, grabbing Vin Diesel's arm.

"What are you trying to do?" Brendan Fraser stared at Vin Diesel, "Trying to cause trouble at my premiere?"

He pointed at Matthew, "You dare to lay a hand on my friend?"

"Brendan..." Matthew stepped forward, ready to say something, but Brendan Fraser waved his hand like a boss, saying, "You don't need to say anything, I'll handle this!"

Matthew simply shut his mouth. Brendan Fraser, with a leader's demeanor, was helping him, no matter what.

Producer Sean Daniel, upon hearing about the situation, rushed over from among the onlookers, followed by four security personnel. Just by glancing at Vin Diesel, he pointed at him and said, "Get rid of him! Now! Go do it!"

He then spoke to an assistant who followed, "Schedule a meeting with Universal Pictures for me tomorrow."

Brendan Fraser stepped back, standing next to Matthew. The four security personnel surrounded Vin Diesel, and the leader said, "Sir, please leave."

Vin Diesel, ignoring the stares around him, still looked arrogant. He coldly glanced at Matthew and walked towards the tent's exit.

"Alright! Alright..." Sean Daniel called out, "The premiere is still going on."

Brendan Fraser patted Matthew's shoulder, telling him, "Don't worry! I've got your back!"

Matthew smiled, "Thanks." He looked at Sean Daniel, approaching him earnestly, "I'm sorry, Mr. Daniel, for bringing personal grievances here."

"I've heard about the situation." Sean Daniel still remembered the bald man, "It was him who initiated the trouble."

He frowned slightly, thinking about the refusal to the bald man and suddenly had a thought that the bald man might not only be targeting Matthew Horn but possibly him as well.

Order in the tent was quickly restored. Matthew was reminded by the staff to head to the entrance leading to the red carpet, and Brendan Fraser also came over. According to the crew's arrangement, he would make his appearance before Brendan Fraser.

"Relax!" Brendan Fraser, either out of habit or genuinely treating Matthew as a younger brother, patted his shoulder again, "Don't be nervous, just walk as usual."

Matthew had walked the red carpet before and wasn't nervous. He nodded.

As a female actress reached the middle of the red carpet, Matthew adjusted his bow tie, exited the tent, and turned onto the red carpet.

"Who's that coming?" a reporter asked.

Another reporter answered, "The actor who played in 'The Scorpion King'!"

Someone else replied, "His name is Matthew Horn, he played Ronald Speirs in 'Band of Brothers'."

Compared to the reporters, few people on the sides of the red carpet recognized Matthew. When he reached a third of the way, he saw someone holding a poster of 'The Scorpion King', just about to go over to sign it when suddenly, a cheer erupted from behind. He quickly looked back and saw Brendan Fraser stepping onto the red carpet.

"He's coming out this early?" Matthew was a bit puzzled.

If he went to sign now, he might bump into Brendan Fraser, which would be awkward.

Glancing back, Brendan Fraser was all smiles, waving around, drawing continuous cheers from the fans. He seemed to really enjoy this adoration.

Matthew decided not to sign and quickened his pace towards the entrance of the Grauman's Chinese Theatre.

After all, Brendan Fraser had just helped him.

In front of the theater was the media area. After entering, Matthew stood in front of the cameras and cooperated with the media for photos. The stylist had specially instructed him on how to pose, and he presented his best side.

Matthew naturally looked good, and with his sunny and warm smile, he prompted the photographers to continuously snap pictures.

Brendan Fraser had already come over, and Matthew left the photo area to enter the interview zone.

Several reporters immediately came over to ask questions. After a few questions, Matthew felt someone wrap an arm around his shoulders from behind. It was Brendan Fraser.

With the main actor over, the reporters lost interest in Matthew, turning their attention to Brendan Fraser.

But Brendan Fraser kept his arm around Matthew, preventing him from leaving. It would be somewhat rude to shake off Brendan Fraser's friendly gesture in front of the media.

Of course, some reporters noticed the interaction between the two.

A middle-aged male reporter asked, "Brendan, are you and Matthew friends? You seem very close."

"Of course!" Brendan Fraser lifted the arm that was around Matthew's shoulder and patted it again, continuing with a boss-like tone, "Matthew is my little brother on set. I've always been helping him, helping him find the feeling for acting, solving any problems he encounters."

He turned to Matthew and said, "Right?"

In such a situation, Matthew could only nod, "Yes." He said into the reporters' microphones, "I am friends with Brendan. His rich acting experience has been a great help to me."

Although none of that was true, helping to promote the film was part of his job.

"Hello, Mr. Fraser," a female reporter with a 'Vogue' magazine tag suddenly said, "I wanted to ask, did you pick out today's outfit yourself, or is it the work of a stylist?"

Brendan Fraser was puzzled, "Is there a problem?"

The female reporter, with the air of a fashion editor, said directly, "If it's the work of a stylist, you might want to fire your stylist! If you picked it out yourself, it shows your fashion sense is poor!"

Hearing this, Brendan Fraser's face fell immediately.

The female reporter didn't spare Brendan Fraser any face, pointing at his clothes and saying, "Your suit is a perfect example of a red carpet mishap. This blue suit looks like it's picked out from a prom dress shop, with pants too long, lapels too big, and a tie too thin. It couldn't be worse."

Brendan Fraser's face wasn't just falling; it turned completely dark.

"Especially standing next to Mr. Matthew Horn, it highlights your shortcomings!" the 'Vogue' reporter looked at Matthew with admiration and directly said, "Mr. Horn, you are the most charismatic man I've seen today!"

Brendan Fraser instinctively looked at Matthew, his face still dark.

After all, this was a 'Vogue' reporter, and the attention of the other reporters shifted instantly, focusing on Matthew. Brendan Fraser immediately felt sidelined.

The 'Vogue' reporter didn't care about the others, focusing on her job and continuing, "Mr. Horn, your outfit and attire are tonight's red carpet highlight! This sleek, notch-lapel silk-wool suit with its deep V-neckline, paired with a perfectly fitted white shirt, accentuates your physique just right. These velvet loafers match your personality perfectly, the best men's accessory on the red carpet tonight. The subtle dark embroidery adds a touch of uniqueness to the simplicity..."

A stream of compliments from the reporter made Matthew a bit embarrassed.

Brendan Fraser's expression remained sour throughout.
