In the largest hotel in South Africa. The workers of Lionbel company are dancing and eating merrily. Their CEO had booked the entire hotel to celebrate his reunion with his father. The sweet aroma can be smelled from the inside and the mouth watering dishes are pleasing to the eyes. Drinks of every caliber are also available. Waiters are moving up and down in attempt to fullfil the requests from the quests. Other people are moving their bodies in accordance with the rhythm of the song playing in the background. Various stories are being shared among the people and joyous laughter can be heard from every corner. Everyone is happy for Mr Roshi.
In a different room upstairs, Roshi and Michael are embracing each other in a hug. Their eyes are swollen from crying and still tears of joy are visible in their eyes. The whole sleepless night of embracing each other doesn't seem enough.
"Son, it's really you. I knew i would find you someday but now that i have, it seems like i'm dreaming." More tears escape his eyes.
Roshi doesn't reply. He feels like a little boy again. Feeling his father's warmth and love, Roshi moves even closer to him and hugs him tighter. The two adults silently embrace each other for what seems like forever. The unsaid words being passed emotionally through their bonded souls. Each understanding the other perfectly despite the silence.
All these years, Roshi had seen the world as cruel. He saw himself as a abandoned lonely child without anyone to rely on. When he was still young, he got used to fighting for himself in this cruel world. He moved from one street to another in search of basic needs. He remembers the two death experiences just because he stole some bread from a shop. For years, he suffered so much and cried alone in the dark corners at night. Even the weather was against him. He remembers all the rain and cold weather he had to endure day after day. He remembers the rotten food he had to consume in order to stay alive. Then Lion found him eating expired cake one day and took him in. He became the brother he never had. A year later the doctor came in his life and became his best friend. For several years now he had almost everything he wished for. He started seeing the world as a good place and heavens as merciful finally. And now, the heavens have given him back his father. Roshi couldn't hold in the cry that escaped his mouth. He held his father even tighter almost knocking the air out of his lungs. He cried so hard without holding back. He let out his frustrations, his pain, his accumulated hatered for the world and finally his happiness for everything the world has given him. He cried in gratitude for having Lion and the doctor, he cried for having somewhere to sleep at night and food to eat, he cried for everyday that he lives feeling no ache and he cried harder for being able to hold his father again. The father he thought was dead, the father he yearned to have.
" I .. i .. love you daddy" he managed to say between the sobs.
Downstairs, a group of four is seated around a table.
"I'm so happy for boss. I'm glad his prayers are finally answered. He can now have peace in his life" said the driver as fresh tears run down his cheeks.
" See who has become a crybaby. I thought some people had hearts of stone," teased Vivian, trying to change the mood. They had cried so much that night and she didn't want to do it again. All she wanted was to eat and dance celebrating his Boss's happiness.
"Who are you calling a cry baby? Weren't you the one shaking yesterday despite no one having touched you?"
That statement reminded Lion of what happened and he proceeded to apologize on behalf of Roshi.
"I'm sorry on behalf of my Boss, he should not....."
" It's alright, I don't mind the slap as long as young boss is happy"
" Hahaaa.. how ironical! Just yesterday you couldn't keep his secret because of the slap but today you don't mind the slap? How about we ask Roshi to slap you again?" Teased Vivian.
" Don't talk nonsense Vivian! Why would you ask him to slap me?" Retorted the driver.
" Because you don't mind the slap?"
" You trouble maker, i knew you hate me for sure. I'll make sure to...."
Their exchange was cut short by the view of two people from upstairs. Without thinking, all the four people around the table rushed to them and they all enveloped in one big hug. The building was suddenly filled with joyful voices of celebration.
