The woman's blunt demeanor caught me off guard. She appeared to be in her thirties and was dressed quite extravagantly, leading me to assume that she hailed from a wealthy family. The Kang family was a well-known name, famous for their work. As far as I can recollect, the woman had short, ginger-colored hair and a fair complexion. I had heard that Kang Seojun's wife was quite attractive, and I couldn't deny it. Nevertheless, it was difficult to believe that someone as affluent as her would come to me for a case. I jumped to numerous conclusions before I could elaborate on the situation.
"You seem to always get on people's nerves," she said, annoyed.
"Wait, do I know you?" I asked.
"No, we haven't met before," she said, appearing confused.
"Oh," I wondered, "how did she know I get on people's nerves?"
"Shall we talk about work now?" she said, looking quite paranoid.
I could tell by her attitude that she wasn't a person who had patience. I was already curious about what this woman wanted me to work on. People like her prefer professional lawyers unlike me.
"Sure," I answered.
"I want you to work for Kang Taeha and make sure you don't win," she said, handing me a blue briefcase and an envelope. "It has everything you need to know."
"Oh I get it," I said as I took the case and envelope.
I should have trusted my instincts, but now it's too late. Initially, I had planned to decline the case. However, as soon as I opened it, I discovered that it contained almost one million dollars. Although it was less than what I usually earn, I needed the money badly, especially for my sister. So I accepted the case without a second thought. On my way home, I stopped at my favorite cafe and ordered my favorite chocolate and banana shake along with some mochi donuts. For some strange reason, I have always loved eating mochi. To my surprise, a woman entered the cafe and sat next to me. This café had no customers except for me. She and I ordered the same thing. She looked familiar, which made me feel weird. But then she smiled warmly at me. Suddenly she got up from her seat and walked towards me.
"Shit was I staring too much," I thought to myself.
"Is this seat taken ??" She asked.
"Umm..." Before I could answer she sat down.
"Judging by your expression you don't remember do you ??" She asked
"Sorry, do I know you?" I asked, feeling completely confused.
"It's me Chizuru Ichinose." She answered smiling at me
"Chizu who?" I asked. "Just who is she?" I thought to myself.
"I knew you didn't remember me at all," she said, looking disappointed.
"Well it's fine," She said.
"What is??" I asked.
"Nothing," She said.
She had dark black hair that resembled the deep blue ocean. Despite appearing to be around my age, she didn't look Korean. Frankly, she was really pretty and almost resembled Han Hyo-joo. However, I couldn't help but wonder what she wanted from me and who she was. As soon as I finished my Shake, I left the cafe. She also got out of the shop and followed me.
"I knew it. She was a stalker," I muttered to myself.
But I realized my mistake when she took a different route. This was a strange experience for me. I reached home to find that she had already arrived.
"What are you doing here?!" I shouted.
"Stop shouting you idiot," said Soojin.
I told soojin she had been following me, but she said I was completely out of it.
"I am sorry, could you please clarify what you mean by saying that I am out of it?" I responded with frustration.
"How dumb can you be??" She said.
"I am not dumb. I just told you what happened," I said.
"Well in short she is your childhood friend," Noona said
I said, "Childhood, what..."
"Are you deaf ??" Soojin yelled.
"No, I just..." I said as I looked at the person whom I thought was my stalker.
She smiled at me, and it felt bittersweet. Tears streamed down my face, and I blacked out.
