"Are you ready for the graduation ball tomorrow night?" My college best friend Lyla came running towards me as she saw me sitting alone at the school cafeteria.
"Yep. What's new? River's my date and we already have our outfits prepared a week before the ball." I responded
River is my boyfriend of 5 years. We started dating during high school and went to the same school during college. We have decided that after the graduation and the ball tomorrow, we will be spending the remaining days of the week here at Nashville. We'd move to New York by next week to pursue our career and get married in the future. We already have our whole life figured out.
"I totally envy you Mabel"
"Why would you say that Lyla are you kidding me? Your life is so more exciting than mine. You have to figure out everyday about what's gonna happen next in your love life, career, everything." I honestly told her.
"But you have your whole life planned out. It's kind of....organized. Like all you have to do is to just put a check on that bucketlist"
Right.
"Aaaand..." she added.
"You are so lucky to have dated a man like River. He loves you so much. You've never heard any rumors of him about cheating on you or anything that involves other women. It's so hard to get a man like that these days" Lyla told me.
"Well you do have a point. I've dated him for like 5 long years and he's still into me like nothing has changed. Well hell yeah I am lucky." I answered finally agreeing to Lyla.
"Hey ladies" River approached us.
"Hey babe, you're finally here. Are you hungry?" I told River while giving him a tight hug.
"Sort of. Let's go eat somewhere. I don't like cafeteria food. Lyla wanna join us?"
"Oh I would love to but I have to go shopping for outfits for the graduation ball. You lovebirds have fun, see you tomorrow!" Lyla waved goodbye as she left.
"Sooo? Fred's Diner? I'm kind of starving too." I spoke
"Where else would we go? Fred's Diner is our all-time favorite snack house" River answered as we went to his car.
I enjoyed the entire day with River. I really love this man and I feel like I am the luckiest girl in the world. A lot girls have envied me because of having such a wonderful boyfriend who would do anything to make me happy.
"Got something on your mind?" River asked as he noticed that I was smiling at him the whole time on our way home.
"Nothing. It's just.... I'm been thinking about how lucky I am to have met you" I honestly told him.
He took my hand and kissed it.
"We're moving to New York, get the job that we've been wanting for so long, live in an apartment, and when we have the money, we're gonna buy a house, and get married. You understand?" He told me as he held onto my left hand.
"Yes. I love you"
"I love you"
When we arrived home, I invited him inside. My parents weren't here so we went quickly inside my room upstairs.
When we got inside, we kissed like we were both hungry for each other's lips. Not soon enough when we started tugging on each other's clothes. River started taking my shirt off as I was also unbuttoning his pants.
He started unhooking my bra and pushed me onto the bed. We kissed passionately. He finally took off his pants and also pulled my undies down. We started doing it, slowly. This is gonna be the last time that we will be sneaking inside my room to have s*x. The moment we move to New York, we will be free.
"You need to get home, it's getting late" I told River while waking him up. He fell asleep on my bed after that heated moment we had earlier.
"Can I just sleep here?"
"No Riv you can't. It's graduation day tomorrow. Besides, Mom and Dad will be here in an hour. I'll see you at school okay?"
"Fine. I'll see you tomorrow. Go straight to bed Mabe, that's an order" he told me while picking up all his clothes that were on the floor. As soon as he finished putting on his clothes, we kissed goodbye.
"Yes sir" I answered and kissed him.
