Yunho and Chantal had been exploring the island after breakfast, immersing themselves in its enchanting landscapes until the veil of twilight began to descend upon them. Little did they anticipate stumbling upon a concealed castle nestled within the depths of the dense forest, where the sun's rays could no longer penetrate, creating an aura of eerie shadows and mystery.
"Yunyun, are we lost again? I wasn't expecting the island to be massive enough that we couldn't even finish touring half of it in one day."
"If you feel tired, I can carry you on a piggyback ride. Would you like to try?" Yunho smiled as he glanced at Chantal.
"I am not yet tired. Walking won't exhaust us easily. I just find it unimaginable that the place looked infinitely wide. For me, it doesn't matter if we get lost. As long as we're together, I'm happy and at ease."
"I'm glad that being together makes you happy. Let's hurry to find a place where we can camp. The surroundings are barely visible. We cannot guess how many monsters this unmanned place hides."
"What about entering that castle? It doesn't look too far from here."
"Okay."
Yunho clasped Chantal's hand tightly as they walked the obscure path leading towards the hidden castle. The atmosphere was tinged with an unsettling chill, and the couple couldn't shake the feeling of being scrutinized by unseen eyes.
With the constraints on both their mental and physical abilities, Yunho relied on his keen werewolf eyes to scan the surroundings, while Chantal, undaunted, gripped a sword firmly in anticipation, her senses heightened.
As they approached the seemingly abandoned castle, Chantal couldn't help but express her concerns. "The castle in front of us looked neither occupied nor abandoned, Yunyun. Will it be alright for us to stay for the night?" Chantal glanced at the castle's massive area, her thoughts drifting towards the potential dangers that might lurk within.
Yunho assured Chantal that nothing bad would happen if they were to rest inside. "As long as we are together, no matter what kind of danger, we will face it hand in hand. I am always with you, Chanty."
"Don't make it sound as if we can't fight without our powers, Major General." Chantal chuckled as if feeling excited.
Yunho and Chantal stepped through the doorway into the empty castle, feeling both nervous and excited. When they walked inside, it was very dark, with only a few weak rays of light coming in through dusty windows. The smell of old parchment and rotting wood filled the air, giving it an aura of mystery that wasn't going to fade away.
As the heavy doors shut behind them with a frightening thud, blocking their way inside out, the couple looked at each other warily. When they tried to open the doors again, they were unable to, as if the castle itself didn't want to leave.
"We're sealed inside."
"Move closer to me, Chanty. This place is far more dangerous than facing Zergs."
Even though it was daunting, Yunho and Chantal huddled close together. Their whispered talks could be heard clearly in the huge halls. "Do you think we should continue exploring?" When Chantal asked, her voice was barely above a whisper, showing that she wasn't sure what to say.
Yunho's determination didn't change as he reassured her by squeezing her hand. "I think there's more to find inside these walls. Anyway, we've been through worse together, haven't we?" He replied, and his voice was filled with quiet resolve.
As they went deeper into the castle, their footsteps echoed unnaturally as they walked down each pitch-black hallway. The unknown loomed before them like a scary abyss, but their bond was powerful, like a towering beacon leading them through the dark.
With a heavy feeling of dread in the air, Yunho and Chantal looked around for any sign of illumination. When Yunho saw a torch on the nearby wall, he lit it right away, creating an intermittent luminescence that moved across the old stone walls. "These carvings looked ancient to me. I can't read them."
As the torch's flames licked at the darkness, revealing the path ahead, the couple's eyes widened in astonishment at the sight that greeted them. The corridor was lined with frozen statues, each depicting a different mythical creature frozen in time, their features etched with a hauntingly lifelike quality.
Throughout the time that they were looking at the sculptures, Chantal let out a gasp, and her fingers reflexively tightened around Yunho's. "These statues... they're like something out of a legend," she mumbled, her voice filled with an equal amount of amazement and nervousness.
As Yunho shook his head in assent, his attention was pulled to the region in the middle of the room where the statues appeared to be converging. It was his observation that "and look," he said, pointing to the central figure, "they appear to be worshiping someone."
In fact, the statues around the center figure were posed in respectful ways, with their eyes fixed on a point that couldn't be seen. Even so, the hall seemed to go on forever, making it hard for the couple to figure out who or what was getting so much attention.
"We have to keep going," Yunho said, his voice firm with purpose. "There may be answers waiting for us at the end of this path."
There was a flicker of movement in the poorly lit hall that Yunho could pick up on. He looked at a strange sight. A statue of a powerful wolf looks respectfully at a figure bathed in ethereal light. The woman's features were smoothed with an otherworldly grace.
Yunho's heart skipped a beat as he beheld the scene before him, a spark of recognition igniting within him. Could it be? He wondered, his mind racing with the possibility. Was this the fabled meeting between the Moon Goddess and a werewolf, immortalized in stone for eternity?
Chantal saw that Yunho's face had changed. His eyes were fixed on the unusual scene in front of them. She asked, "Yunyun, what is it?" with worry in her voice.
Yunho quickly took his eyes off the statue. He was feeling both awe and shock at the same time. "It's... I think I know what this is," he said, barely raising his voice. "The wolf looks a lot like me. While the woman looks very much like the Moon Goddess,
Chantal's eyes widened in astonishment. "You mean to say... this is a depiction of your kind's legend?"
Yunho nodded slowly.
