The younger nurse nodded, checking the IV lines. "Blood pressure has stabilized at 110/70, and heart rate is down to 85 BPM," she reported.
Dr. Jeong moved to Xue Mei's side, gently placing a hand on her forehead. It was cool to the touch, a stark contrast to the burning heat from hours before. Xue Mei's breathing had become more regular, and some color had returned to her cheeks.
"The broad-spectrum antibiotics seem to be working," Dr. Jeong observed. "Her white blood cell count is trending downward."
