My holoband alerts me of a call. It's Zara.
As I stepped into the quiet alleyway to take the call, my heart raced with anticipation. Zara's face appeared on my holoband screen, followed closely by Perada's. I couldn't help but feel a twinge of annoyance at their prolonged silence, but I pushed it aside, focusing on their words.
"Congratulations on your progress, Tyde," Zara began, her voice calm and composed. "You've come a long way since we last spoke."
I nodded, trying to mask my frustration with a forced smile. "Thanks, Zara," I replied, my tone more subdued than usual. "But what have you guys been up to? You've been awfully quiet lately."
Zara's expression softened, her eyes betraying a hint of remorse. "I'm sorry for the silence, Tyde," she said earnestly. "We've been... preoccupied with other matters. But rest assured, we haven't forgotten about you."
