It has been a few weeks since the club was form and Amy admits that she has been distracted watching Leon ramble. At first, when she signed in, she expected he would be saying something stupid or nonsensical but was surprised how seriously Leon is actually taking his research about the phenomena. There are admittedly some holes to his theory but the one thing he got right is that there is a connection since none of the deaths are random. Despite the fear, no one in the academy is truly afraid because the Magic Academy is perfectly safe but some of the commoners are afraid for their families as they collect every piece of news, they could find that would pinpoint any of their deaths.
Everyone piled in. Some believed it might be a curse or a plague that targets a certain area. In fact, it was confirmed that the survivors were both interrogated and quarantined for weeks. Others believe it is a killer without a motive.
If the killer intends to spread fear, then it certainly worked with the survivors who might spread the word out. According to their testimony on the news, they were alive because they just happened to be spared, not because they escaped. The survivors have been put into quarantine as a precaution, but nothing happened. Eyewitness testimony states that they all stared dying after suddenly being torn apart. It could be the heat of the moment but no one ever actually saw it. Alabaster is already beginning to investigate the deaths, but Amy is admittedly unsure of what data or evidence they would find in their search. She then watched the self-centered prince with absolute boredom as he began filling the chalkboard with his clues.
Since the curfew, she cannot go to the Circular room anymore or test out new techniques or make up something like she did with Hecate. She wanted to make more worms, but she already had difficulty doing it in Viola's presence the first time when they are barely four years old, it will be hard to make another batch again, especially if it could be discovered by someone other than her.
There are more deaths reported and some had no survivors, others had very little. There are many communities that reported none or up to at least one death. It looks like Karnei is the most affected as they have the most casualties so far. And now the world is calling this killing phenomenon, the Ripper.
"If it comes to this, I will eliminate the thing myself." Leon concluded.
"Absolutely not," Nathaniel replied, "Besides, even if you try, the security will stop you. It has nearly doubled since you attempted to mess with it."
Leon suddenly looks so proud, confusing some of them. "I'm one of the strongest here. They could try to keep me caged up, but no one would stop me."
Amy rolled her eyes at the statement. Leon is powerful, even more powerful than almost all the adults right now. The only ones she could think of who could control him or beat him would be Aaron and Queen Helena though Princess Evangeline might give him a run for his money. But in the end, his pride and overconfidence got him killed.
"I hope something interesting happens. I wish I were out in the field so I could beat up monsters and people." Leon groaned.
"I don't think beating people up is part of the job description." Selim commented with a smile.
Amy has her own theory of the Ripper but she will need to hurry.

Amy looked at the white board. When she suffered from Temporal Disease, she had foretelling dreams. In fact, she kept a dream journal but because of her inability to write coherently, she settled to drawing it instead. All illustrations look like a child's drawing, a downgrade to how she usually draws.
One of the illustrations shows a dark specter in a dark place and a stick embedded into the ground.
In her dream, she went face to face with a shapeless being. After much rational thought and memory searching thanks to Boris, she realized what it is. She was terrified of the idea of getting it but that fact that she saw it for herself that she found the legendary sword of the Demon King.
She pulled out her Lapis Lazuli notebook and opened to the next part of her plan. Though she initially never made plans regarding the Ripper, she decided to get involve in the investigation. Her priority is to track the Ripper before it creates irrevocable damage. If the Ripper is human, she would use the worm on them though the hard part would be to predict its attack. In addition, the curfew puts a damper on her plans. She had multiple theories but there is one that concerned her.
In the story, the deceased Demon King had six weapons that his six arms held during the Angel-Demon war. She believed that one of them might be in the possession of the Ripper.
The Devil's Arrow
The powerful long ranged weapon of the demons. Typically, they don't usually use weapons, but the war made them compromise on using them. The arrow is modeled to resemble the elves signature weapon.
It would make sense that the Devil's Arrow is around and used to kill. It is extremely fast and accurate. It would somewhat explain the casualties all over the world because this is the only other weapon, she could think of that might be capable of creating this much damage. She doesn't know its current location nor its owner but, in the story, it is retaken by the Cambion, who gave it to a subordinate, while slowly building up his power. The Cambion deems themself powerful enough to not need any.
Her plan is to figure out a way to track demonic power so she would be able to find the weapon and give it to someone for safe keeping or if necessary, destroy it especially if it is a murder weapon possessed by the Ripper.
As an angel's descendant, she cannot use it but there are others who can.
Amy clenched her hands with anxiety then stared at her book. She is gonna have to purify the Devil's Arrow of its demonic influence first before thinking about lending it to someone.
What should she do if her theory is correct? What would she do with the arrow? How would she find the Ripper? What does it want? There are many questions and yet no one to answer them. After putting everything away, she went back to bed in frustration.
