Chapter 83 - The Trying Fighter

She watched as her great-grandfather sleeps while sitting by his bedside. He's been doing that a lot now that he's growing older. Despite just sitting there, she isn't bored because there are a lot of things in her mind, so much so, that she has not followed the itinerary for today. She prides herself for being a workaholic and now she is basically playing hooky.

The first thing she decided to do is check up on Alina now that she can confidently say for sure that she is of sound mind.

Alina is in distress. She has been in deep in thought like she is and their intertwined thoughts were shared to show that things are not running smoothly.

From what she can gathered, she has been buying off the slave contracts from every slave she could find in all the kingdoms and free her people however, there is one setback she didn't expect. Some chose to stay. They experience and live a life they do not wish to leave and preferred live their new lives. Some married outsiders and are living happy lives and this made her incredibly unhappy.

It is of no surprise. Slavery has existed as long as the birth of civilization but not all slaves are treated badly. They could either have kind masters who treat them well or they managed to get back their slave contracts and choose to live in the world of their captors. It could be out of contentment or fear. Either way, she is going through a dilemma.

Looking back, Alina remembered the years she spent in the Anthos mansion and the kind people she met and friends she made there. But she left for the sake of everyone and a strong desire to return.

What should I do? Alina thought.

Amy had no idea how to answer that. Is there even a right answer for this?

She sighed before thinking about her own problems. What does that god even mean by those words? They said that they look forward to what Violet could have become. Didn't she already accomplish that?

She turned her head towards the window. The gardener seems to be in shock as he began trimming the freshly grown flora. The servants morale and mood have heightened quite significantly. Their views towards her have also increased in admiration.

Violet's dancing is quite prominent in her character as she created one of the most powerful techniques from it. The God wanted her to be aware of her character. Because she is so different, she initially believed that it's what they wanted for her but clearly, there is something else she doesn't know.

Why the hell is this guy so vague? She thought in frustration before turning to the window, watching the fruit of her unintentional action. There is one thing she learned from this though. She had no idea she could do that.

Then she got an idea.

She read the letter she got from Amy. It was short and written in a hurry yet it took more than a week to arrive. Viola scrunched her face. No one is telling her anything. This is not normal. She asked Selim about Amy's letters and his were somewhat at normal length but it is also written in a hurry.

"What's wrong?"

Viola looked around to see Leon. He is getting better at sneaking up behind her.

"It's just letters from Amy."

His face beamed. "Really? Is she coming back?"

"She's coming back for the new year and it looks like she's recovering well."

Leon's expression looks grim as he glanced at the letter. Unlike Amy, she doesn't know how to read a person's expression.

Amy retraced her steps at the garden. The nearby servants seem to look forward to seeing her dance again. Even though it was a dream, it did show her something practical. She knew that dancing is useful when it comes to the Grand Purification Technique. She used it once however, this was the limit for her. She, herself, is not a dancer but this talent is the only skill she didn't expect to inherit nor one she expected to find any usage in.

Amy did a light jump and twirl by memory and everyone watched as she gracefully made her way to the end. It made her feel lighter, flexible and calmer. After finishing it up with one foot, everyone applaud but she didn't take any notice of them but instead of what she did. With a bit magic, she inadvertently terraform the garden and the atmosphere. She didn't feel the need to wear any of her winter clothes upon going out at all. No feeling of exhaustion or other after effects.

She sat down on a marble bench to look back on the experience. Magic of this scale should drain her especially at her current power and age but she didn't feel anything. This is much different than the magical thread theory. While the magical thread is the ability to control magic by transferring it to different parts of the body, minimizing its use and saving up energy, whatever this... is different.

She did all of this subconsciously, with no regard or thoughts hindering her from using her full potential. It seems like the God really wanted her to see what would happen if she had tapped into her full power; not just to be different from Violet but to have the full potential.

Even though she read the manga, watched the show and obtained some context, she is not an expert on everything. So far, she depended on her logic to get through. Many times, she forgot that this is a fictional world where real world logic wouldn't always work. Even Violet, a woman with a overly trusting personality, wouldn't survive in a world like this, curbed with conflict and violence. However, she is skilled in her own way. She trained and dance, possibly knowing the potential it serves for her in her own way. In a sense, she's a fighter. An unexpected fighter but a trying one.

She stared at her own feet and smirked at her own incompetence for overlooking something like this. She underestimated Violet even after looking down on her. She then turn to her room to get all the items. She has much to test on.
